In the morning, guests will be picked up from their hotels in Acapulco. We will begin the tour by visiting the Chapel of Peace, constructed on a hill overlooking the city, giving it a crown of spirituality. Built by architect Gabriel Chavez de la Mora, the chapel has become a symbol of modern day Acapulco, characterized by an enormous cross that can be seen throughout the city. Next we'll head to Fort San Diego, which houses the Historic Museum of Acapulco, consisting of 13 permanent exhibits and one temporary. We will pass by the Home of Dolores Olmedo, a great patron of arts and culture in the 20th century, where painter Diego Rivera finished his final work before his death. Our tour will end at the Flamingos Hotel, which was once a refuge for movie stars, like John Wayne, seeking a getaway from the fast-paced life of Hollywood. There will be some time for shopping before guests are dropped off at their hotels. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
