Day 1

New York - Howe Caverns/Secret Caverns - Niagara Falls (Free night Tour) (407 miles)

We will head north to the Howe Caverns or Secret Caverns in upstate New York. We will then continue on to Niagara Falls, NY where we will view the nighttime Illumination of the Falls.

New York, NY

  • Six million years in the making, New York's Howe Caverns highlight the eerie beauty of underwater erosion. Through limestone corridors, cavernous galleries, and under massive boulders to a subterranean riverbed carved over countless millennial.

  • Formed 38,000 year ago, these gorgeous caverns in Central Bridge, New York are naturally 50 degrees year round. Open to tourists April through November, these caverns have been largely untouched sans the additions of stairs at the entryway.

Niagara Falls, NY

  • For more than 75 years, visitors to Niagara Falls have been able to enjoy a nighttime illumination of the impressive American and Horseshoe falls. Every night of the year at dusk, visitors can experience the falls a new way.

Old Fort Niagara - Niagara Power Vista - Maid of the Mist - Watkins Glen (464 miles)

We will then continue to explore Niagara Falls, NY where we will take the famous Maid of the Mist boat ride, see an informational movie at the IMAX Theater, and visit the Power Vista and Old Fort Niagara. We will then head to Watkins Glen State Park in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

  • The Power Vista features more than 50 interactive exhibits and an observation deck. Located just 4 miles downstream from the Falls, it is set amidst the spectacular scenery of the Niagara River Gorge.

Watkins Glen State Park

  • The amazing Gorge Trail winds 1.3 miles over 20 beautiful waterfalls; such as rainbow falls, chain falls, endless falls etc. There are also suspension stone bridge and spiral tunnel that crosses high above the gorge. It is registered as a National Scenic Trail in the US. It is one of the most photographed place in the North East.

Washington D.C. - Philadelphia - New York (231 miles)

In the morning, we will head south to Washington, DC to see all of the famous monuments. We will then travel to Philadelphia, PA to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. We will return to New York at night.

Washington, DC

  • One of the Smithsonian Institute's museums in Washington, DC, the National Air and Space Museum chronicles the history of flight. From the Wright Brother to Buzz Aldrin, the exhibits at this museum explore all of humanity's air travels.
  • The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is a memorial to the third president of the United States. The impressive building is neoclassical in design and has been standing since 1943. It sees more than two million visitors every year.
  • The famous United States Capitol is the meeting place of the US Congress, and has been for more than 200 years. The building is famous for its elaborate dome and intricately designed, detailed columns.
  • The world-famous White House in Washington, DC is the official residence of the president of the United States and the place where most of the work is done. The facade of this neoclassical mansion is a global icon.
  • This iconic American monument honors the 16th president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln was president during the American Civil War, and is most famous for the Emancipation Proclamation that freed all of the slaves in the US.
  • This memorial in Washington, DC serves as a place to remember the American soldier who were lost or killed during the tumultuous Vietnam War. Originally controversial in design, the simple memorial has become a shrine for the American people.
  • This memorial commemorates those who served for the United States in the Korean War. It is located south of the Reflecting Pool at the National Mall. The simple memorial is triangular in shape will a circle at the top.

Philadelphia, PA

  • The famously cracked Liberty Bell is a sign of American Independence and spirit. Located at Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia, PA, this symbol of the American Revolution was crafted in 1752-- more than 250 years ago.
  • One of Philadelphia's most famous landmarks, Independence Hall in Independence National Historical Park is the location where both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated, written, and ratified by the Founding Fathers of the USA.

  • Child Rate: Child rates apply to those 0-12 years and using existing bedding with 2 full-paying passengers (regardless of ages). Please bring car seats with you for your infants during the tour. Please note each hotel room can only accommodate 4 guests (adults or children).
  • Buy 2 Get 1 Free Discount: Offer applies to 3 or 4 people sharing a room. Cancellation of free-fare passenger must be made at least 3 days before departure. No-show (or late cancellation) of free passenger incurs a $96 penalty fee for the reserved bus seat. Due to hotel shortage, tours departing on May 17 will not offer buy 2 get 3rd free discount.

    Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.

    Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .

    Cancellation penalties per person for 1-4 days tours

    • 15-30 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    • 7-14 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    • 4-6 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    Cancellation penalties per person for tours last 5 or more days

    • Up to 46 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    • 21-45 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    • 8-20 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • 1-7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

    Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
