This morning we will depart for the beautiful coastal city of Santa Monica, CA, a bustling resort town where you can stroll along white sand beaches, feel the blazing sun softened by the cool sea breeze, and rest shaded by palm trees. In the thriving downtown area, filled with shopping malls, cinemas, and restaurants, you can shop, dine, and explore the city at your leisure.
After our visit we will continue west, passing the sheer cliffs of the Santa Monica Mountains on our way to the famous Getty Center, home to several cultural institutions founded by the wealthy oil man J. Paul Getty. The billion-dollar center, which overlooks Los Angeles, is known for its creative architecture, elaborately designed gardens, and several art museums, which display many valuable paintings, sculptures and photographic works.
From here we will stop at the University of California at Los Angeles, or UCLA, and then continue on to Beverly Hills, one of the world's most exclusive residential areas and a symbol of luxury and fame in the United States. We will also visit the city of Lodi and walk down Europe Avenue, home to some of the most expensive stores in Southern California. Even if you don’t purchase anything, the extravagant decoration of each store and their dazzling contents will make the trip worthwhile. We may even run into your favorite Hollywood star along the way!
Next we will travel into downtown Los Angeles to El Pueblo De Los Angeles Historic Monument, the site of the original settlement of the great city. As the birthplace of Los Angeles, it not only reflects the early history of Los Angeles, but also its social life. In the midst of its modern surroundings, it maintains a quaint, historical atmosphere and features the Avila Adobe, the first house built in Los Angeles, as well as Olvera Street, the famous alleyway and center of Mexican culture in the city. Its authentic Mexican food, colorful piñatas, hanging puppets in peasant garb, and oversized sombreros present a romantic vision of old Mexico that draws millions of tourists every year.
At 5:00 PM, we will conclude our day tour with fantastic memories of our trip.
