    Today we will gather in Chicago. Guests who fly into O'Hare can meet the tour guide at the baggage claim area and be transferred to the hotel for free from 9:00am to 9:00pm. There is an optional night tour for those who arrive before 5:00pm.

    In the morning, guests may either choose to be transferred to the airport for early flights or embark on a more in-depth tour of the Chicago area.

    For those who decide to stay, today begins with a visit to Northwestern University, one of the top colleges in the United States that is most famous for its extremely competitive school of journalism, the Medill School. From there, we will make our way north of the city proper to visit the Baha'i Temple. This member of the National Register of Historic Places is the oldest Baha'i House of Worship in the world.

    After lunch, we will journey to the Oak Park area on the west side of Chicago. Here, we will take a bus tour of the area that will take us past some of the many buildings in the neighborhood designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. We will also pass by the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway.

    At the end of the day, we will transfer to O'Hare for flights home. Please see "Departure and Return" for information about when to book flights.

      • If you would like to join the optional activities, please pay the fee in cash to the tour guide. You cannot buy / use the tickets on your own or use City Passes. The tour guide will arrange the tickets for the group.
    • All meals and drinks during the trip.
    • Service Fees: A total of $8 / day / person should be paid in cash to tour guide and the bus driver as a service fee. Any child / Infant reserving a seat will have to pay the service fees as well. Ex: 2 people taking a 2-day tour would pay: $8 x 2 (seats) x 2 (days) = $32.
    • Personal room fees: such as laundry or valet services, telephone calls, or alcoholic beverages/mini bar items, unless they are otherwise specified.

    • City passes are not accepted during an escorted tour due to the fact that they do not correspond into the tour schedule. The group entrance tickets provided by tour guides have fast lane and tour guides accompany passengers for activities.
    • Bus Arrangement: Usually only passengers in the same order will be arranged in the same bus. If you book the tour separately with your friends and you want to sit in the same bus, you need to inform us before departure . Or you may be arranged in different buses.
    • Itineraries are subject to change due to the weather, transportation and other conditions, in order to provide the best experience for you.
    • Customers are held solely responsible for their own travel documents and/or visas if required.
    • Hotel rooms: Each hotel room can accommodate no more than 4 guests (adults or children), and existing bedding must be used
    • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.

    All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

      Redemption

    • Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.

    Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

    Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .

    Cancellation penalties per person for 1-4 days tours

    • 15-30 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    • 7-14 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    • 4-6 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    Cancellation penalties per person for tours last 5 or more days

    • Up to 46 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    • 21-45 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    • 8-20 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • 1-7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

    Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
