Then, we will visit the Church of St. Joseph, believed to be the sight of Joseph's carpentry workshop. Beneath the church lies a cave used by early Roman dwellers for storage of food and water. From here, we will proceed to Kfer Kanna for a view of the Mount of the Beatitudes, where, according to tradition, Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Then we will visit the Church of the Loaves and Fish, which preserves an early Christian mosaic from the 4th century. Our next stop will be the ruins of Capernaum. On our way back to Jerusalem, we will stop at the Yardenit for an optional baptismal service.
Afterward, we will ascend into the Golan Heights, stopping at Hamat Gader for an overview of the border between Israel, Syria, and Jordan on our way to the Shalom Observatory. We will then proceed to the city of Katzrin, the Talmudic capital of Golan, where we will visit the remains of the Ancient Village, which include a 6th century synagogue. We will then ascend Mount Bental for a remarkable view of the Kuneitra Valley. We will then descend into the Hula Valley for the evening.
