Day 1

Los Angeles - Solvang - Hearst Castle - San Francisco (476 miles)

In the morning we will depart from Los Angeles at 8:00am and drive along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway on the way to Solvang, CA. From here we will continue north, arriving at noon in San Simeon, CA for a visit to Hearst Castle. We will arrive in San Francisco at about 6:00pm.

Solvang, CA

Antiquated windmills and Northern Europeans-style architecture punctuate the little village's skyline. Brilliant sunshine, boundless open country and rolling hills- these are the characteristics of what the original Danish immigrants called "Solvang" or "Sunny Field".

San Simeon, CA

Hearst Castle: Hearst Castle is a mansion located on the central coast of California that is a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1919 for William Randolph Hearst, the mansion is more than 90,000 square feet in area.

Day 2

San Francisco City Tour

In the morning morning, we will tour San Francisco. Guests may choose to take a one-and-a-half hour Bay Cruise* to experience the sights of San Francisco from the water. Around 3:00pm, guests may choose to either have some free time or join an extensive San Francisco tour, which will cover St. Mary Cathedral, Twin Peaks, the Civic Center, and much more.* After dinner, we will head back to the hotel.

San Francisco, CA

Golden Gate Bridge: The iconic arches of San Francisco, California's Golden Gate Bridge are known the world over as a symbol of California and the San Francisco Bay area. From movies to postcards, the Golden Gate Bridge is an American icon.
Fisherman's Wharf: This San Francisco neighborhood is a popular tourist area due to its lovely scenery and abundance of shops, restaurants, museums, and other attractions. The area also hosts several annual events, such as a July 4th fireworks show.
Twin Peaks: San Francisco's Twin Peaks are two prominent hills near the center of the city. Each one stands at about 922 feet tall, and they offer amazing views of the Bay Area all the way down to the water.
Civic Center: The Civic Center area is the center of government in San Francisco. Its features two large plazas, and its main attraction is the San Francisco City Hall, which features a recognizable gold-outlined dome, the fifth-largest in the world.

Day 3

San Francisco - Yosemite National Park** - Los Angeles (560 miles)

After departing from San Francisco in the morning, we will make our way back to Los Angeles via the magnificent Yosemite National Park. We will arrive in Los Angeles in the late evening.

Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park lies in the heart of California. With its 'hanging' valleys, many waterfalls, cirque lakes, polished domes, moraines and U-shaped valleys, it provides an excellent overview of all kinds of granite relief fashioned by glaciation.

**The visit to Yosemite National Park will be replaced by the 17-Mile Drive along Monterey Bay during the winter months.

Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.
Child Rates: Child rates apply to those of ages 3-9. Infants under 2 years old are free of charge.
Hotel rooms: Each hotel room can accommodate no more than 4 guests (adults or children), and existing bedding must be used

Within 72 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. If booking is within 30 days of arrival date, please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.
Ticket Redemption: You will receive an email (e-ticket) after your order was received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

May I have the hotel accommodation details for this tour?
The itinerary/details page of the tour will have information about the level of hotel. The actual hotel will not be finalized until 1 or 2 days before departure. Most hotels are around 3 stars, and you may get the exact hotel details while reconfirming your tour.
Where will we have meals in this tour?
Meals are NOT included in the tour price but our tour guide will arrange meal stops. Normally we stop at a plaza to have some fast food, or stop at a restaurant and passengers can order.
Can I change my seats on the bus?
For the short-term tour, Seats are allotted on first book first served basis; For the tour smore than 4 days, the seats are rotated by your tour guide everyday so that everyone has the chance to sit front, middle, and back of the bus. We can make special arrangement if you can produce doctor's note etc.
Can I change the information for the travelers or add more travelers after booking?
Please send us the inquiry or Contact customer support. We will process your inquiries in 1 to 2 business days. You could add more travelers as long as there are seats available for the tour.
Where are the pick-up locations of tours?
Departure information, including time and location, is listed in the “Departure And Return Details” section of the tour itinerary. There is often a link to a map as well. Every e-ticket includes full pick-up time and location information. Please print out your e-Ticket and bring your ID to board the bus.
Could you arrange the airport transfer if we arrive early or staying late?
The complimentary airport transfer would be provided accordingly if you extend the same hotel for tour which has the airport transfer services.
How to select and pay the optional admission fee?
It should be paid upon arrival. Please bring cash for optional admission fees, meals, as well as tips to tour guide
Is there any restroom in the bus? would you make any stop for the long bus trip?
There is a restroom in the bus. Moreover, the bus driver will stop every two hours in the rest area where you could purchase some food and relax.
How to cancel this tour?
If you want to cancel this tour, please check the cancellation policy of the tour under Redemption and Policies tab and then e-mail to support@taketours.com. Your refund request will be answered and processed promptly. If you do not receive any reply in one business day, that means your request is not processed. Please contact us immediately.
Why can’t I find the tour date I want in this tour?
We only post available dates in our website. If you can't find date before last showed date in the tour, it means no service available. Also, we currently accept 60-90 for tours days advance bookings for tour service; if the date you want is outside this range, please bookmark the schedule page, as product updates occur every day.

This trip was fantastic. I loved Hearst Castle, it was beautiful and the views were incredible. Driving up the coast as the sun set I felt I was really seeing California. To arrive earlier at the accommodation I would happily have skipped Solvang though. The accommodation is actually in San Jose which is 60 minutes from San Francisco. I mention this because on day two you drive to SF and see the Golden Gate Bridge, walk down Lombard Street and visit the warf. We decided against doing the boat tour and instead had a fantastic lunch on the pier. My problem is that if you chose not to do the extended tour option (an extra $25 per person!), you were stuck in SF with no way of getting back to the hotel (unless you waited many, MANY hours and met up at the last stop with no directions how to get there). The train takes over 2 hours and you'd still have to get a cab from there to the hotel. We didn't come back with the tour to LA and had to get from San Jose to San Fran which cost $120 for a private vehicle. When I asked hotel staff the best way I was laughed at and told a taxi. I was happy to stay and not get up super early to get to Yellowstone. The tour guide Cerbrina was lovely. She was engaging and funny and driver Andrew was good to have chats with.

I went on 3 day and 2 night trip 26,27,28 dec 2012 and I enjoyed it fully. Tour guide Jouy was great, lively and co-operative gave us details of different places - bus driver Jose was very calm and drove really well in the long journey.Thank you. In 3 days the trip covers a lot places. Also if you are a vegeterian it is preferable to carry your own food. If you don't have a car, if you are travelling alone and if you can adjust a little, I will recommend this trip. This is a bus tour with many passengers that is time bound and many places are to be covered so being on time is very important. The Holiday Inn at Dublin was good. It was a really good experience.

You are able to visit multiple locations at such a short time. SF and Yosemite were amazing. Although they mention that the extended city tour is an option, the guide really doesnt give you much room to opt out as the drop off and pick-up points for those not joining the city tour is about 10 miles away with no instructions from the guide on how to go around the city. The city tour was more of a drive-by rather than an actual tour of the area. The time spent in Yosemite was insufficient. One hour is not enough to walk to the Falls & back to the pick up point. Another hour there would've done the trick. There were only Chinese restaurants around the hotel (even the bakery and grocery were Chinese). The lunch stops were also not any better. The lunch stop on the last day (King Buffet) was awful. Other than that, places visited were great.

The entire trip was awesome. We enjoyed a lot on all the 3 days. We could cover all the places in a short period. It would have been much better if we had spent some more time at Yosemite as time was too short and it became dark by the time we reached there.

Nice Trip. However I will advise the tour management to have more flexible food stops, not just the locations which mostly have Chinese restaurants and very few or no options for vegetarian people.

Lets start with the positives. I enjoyed the tour because we got great pictures taken from the sites. The bus was clean and our hotel had two queen size beds for two people! Now the negatives. Im sorry, but the tour guide's english was not very good. Grammar was way off and even pronounciation was hard to understand. You'd have to listen very carefully and decipher what she has to say because you might miss the time your bus would leave. Her bad english was more evident when she was tired. I know she did her best and she ws friendly, but its hard to get past such as strong language barrier especially since it is an american tour and you would expect a very fluent bilingual tour guide. I strongly suggest bringIng loads of water during the trip and food because stops are limited to burger joints and not walmart or cvs or any of the sort. Especially at night when you dont have the means to go to convenience stores. The last trip with the 17 mile drive was sort of bland. Nothing special or historic about it. Basically, you are paying for the ride and the hotel for this trip. But if you speak fluent mandarin, you may get more for your money's worth.

It was such a great trip! We stayed at beautiful hotel, Crown Plaza hotel. 17 miles drive was one of places I wanted to go for long time. Beautiful wow trip. The guide,Sunny was very professional. Thanks for everything!

I booked this trip for my relatives, and it was worth it for all the places that you get to visit in such a short period of time. The only bad side was some of the people on the tour weren't on time so it made everyone behind schedule.

for the price, the trip was very well worth it. won't be able to see it all if you do it on your own. york, the tour guide was very entertaining and supportive. the driver was excellent. wish could have stayed longer in key tourist sites, but to see them all in a short time was wonderful. my friends can't believe me and my husband have seen them all. have told friends about it and will take tour together as a group next time. already planning east coast tour ...new york and more!!!

My husband is a very meticulous when it comes to a place to sleep, the hotel was excellent and liked it! There were families that were always late, made the schedule behind, otherwise our guide & driver were organized. We wish there would be more time enjoy each stop for sceneries. Overall, its recommended! Next tour: Yellowstone!

We stayed two nights in Hilton in Fremont. The hotel was really nice. Inside Hearst Castle guided tour was very prefessional. But the tour only stayed in Solvang for about 2 hours. I wish we could have stayed there longer as it's a very cute village. Other than that, tour went smoothly and tour guide Mike really took good care of us.
