Disneyland (Daily arrival)
Today we will travel to
Disneyland, called “the happiest place on Earth,” where we will enjoy a train ride passing through Main Street U.S.A., experience the fun and charm of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and even enjoy some of the park’s most classic rides, like Snow White’s Adventure and Peter Pan’s Flight. On the other hand, the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean will thrill the more bold-hearted, and everyone will enjoy meeting all of their favorite Disney characters at Mickey's Toontown. Other attractions such as the Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye simulator ride, Tarzan’s Treehouse, the newly “re-imagined” Star Tours simulator ride, and Jungle Cruise promise an unforgettably fun afternoon. Don’t forget to visit New Orleans Square and explore the shops, restaurants, and rides in that area, including Princess Tiana’s Mardi Gras celebration! While you’re here, you may even see Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, where Mickey will lead the way as Disney characters jam their way down Main Street riding on colorful floats. At 5:00 PM, we will leave Disneyland and head back to Los Angeles.
OR Los Angeles City Tour (Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat arrival)
Today we will take a tour of the city of Los Angeles, stopping first at the Los Angeles Music Center, home to several popular and well-known theaters such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as the site of many past Oscar Award ceremonies. In the city center, we will gaze up at the U.S. Bank Tower, the tallest building in California, as well as the Immigration and Naturalization Service Building, the Department of Water & Power, and the stately Los Angeles City Hall. From there we will wind among the countless shops and restaurants in the city’s Chinatown, and visit the historic Japanese American district of Little Tokyo, with countless cultural attractions as well as Japanese restaurants. From there we will travel to Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles, the famous alleyway and center of historic Mexican culture in the city, the large sports arena Staples Center, and Jewelry Street. In the afternoon, we will proceed to Hollywood Boulevard to visit Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, which has been the site of three Academy Awards ceremonies and many film premieres, including that of George Lucas’ Star Wars trilogy. Here you can even take your picture next to the foot and handprints of your favorite movie stars! Afterwards, we will visit the Hollywood Bowl, the world’s largest open-air amphitheater, which is home to hundreds of musical events each year. From there we drive along Sunset Boulevard through Hollywood and the luxurious residential area of Beverly Hills. In Beverly Hills, we will stop at the shopping district of Rodeo Drive, known for designer label and haute couture fashion. While we’re there, feel free to take pictures and shop around (but don’t look for any deals!). We will conclude our tour at 5:00 PM.
