Our tour guide Jupiter is awesome! He speaks fluent English and gave a lot of information. He sets rule such as the last person who gets on the bus has to sing. I absolutely love this idea not only it stops people from being late but also brings up the mood on the bus. We did most of the optional activities except for the Imax movie and the Skylon tower lunch, and we were glad that we didn't opt to do those. The only thing we regret doing was the Chinese lobster dinner. As a Chinese, I find the food terrible and totally not worth the price.
I just took this tour this past weekend, on a recommendation from a friend. Overall I really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide Wendy was very sweet and tried to make our trip the best. I was not a fan of the driver, Edgar, as I and others on the bus found him to be a know it all and rude.
In the beginning, Wendy mentioned the price you would pay if you were to go to all the attractions. That was helpful, but the attractions are optional.
Even though this trip is to see the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, I found time to explore the United States side too when I opted out of seeing the cultural show on the first night. I am sure the show was lovely, but my partner and I wanted to walk and explore- especially after we had walked the path in Watkins Glens and it left us wanting to stretch our legs more. The first hotel we stayed in was the Motel 6. At night after settling down, we independently (separate from the group) walked to the more congested nightlife and were able to go on the famous Ferris wheel (that allows you to see Niagara Falls from above,) to play arcade games, go to a haunted house and eat Tim Burton's donuts. Keep in mind I know others may have gone to the motel and slept, but my partner and I love walking so we did not mind being out late- even though the next day we promptly were at the bus at 7:30. The second day we were able to go to an IMAX movie, then get on the Hornblower Cruise, which allows you to be up and close to the mist of the Falls. Though there was a wait, the capacity of the boat is huge and plenty of us got into the first boat. Words will not suffice how pretty the view was- pretty romantic and surreal. After the cruise, we went to the Skylon Tower to have lunch. The view there was also gorgeous. These two attractions were my favorite. After the Skylon Tower, we went on a boat ride to see Lake Ontario. Then we went to the CN tower, where you can sit or stand on the glass while you see the streets way below you. We had to hurry and see the CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium within about two hours, but we managed. The aquarium has so many sharks. In the evening, when you think you cannot possibly go elsewhere we went to Chinatown to have dinner. The motel for that night was the Travel Lodge. It was okay- their Wi-Fi would not work- but they had a pool (though we didn't pack for it.) This night we couldn't really explore outside because there was nothing around... The next morning we had to be awake at 4:30 and at the bus by 5:30. Our first stop was a breakfast cruise of the Thousand Islands. Though it was very cold, the view was pretty. This was pretty much my weekend away. We stopped at duty-free on the United States side and Canada side too.
One tip: Take out more cash than you think you'll need. We regretted this. And make the best of it. Whenever you are at bathroom stop, walk around so you aren't feeling sluggish from sitting around so long.
I highly recommend this tour company for everything specially their price and wonderful service. On August 29th through August 31st 2016,we went to Canada trip. They provide us volvo bus.First i can say the bus was brand new and so nice and clean, every thing was very organized like as seat belt,Mobile charger, window covering,A/C,wi-fi,& Bathroom. Secondly, We had a wonderful trip because of our tour guide Kary Faye. She has a great time management skills. We didn't miss any activity during these three days. We went to Watkins Glen.We saw the Niagara Falls from NY side and night view from the Canadian side (Rainbow Bridge view was so cool, so was the night view) on our first day. On the second day, we watched a movie in IMAX Theater,Niagara fall side boat trip, Skylon Tower, drove to Toronto City where we went to Ontario lake first, CN tower (top view, the glass floor), and the Aquarium (liked the shark tunnel and jellyfish). On the third day, we went to Thousand Island and ate breakfast on the cruise. The Hotels we stayed at were of good quality, with swimming pool to relax after the long trips and comfortable beds. Kary Faye was very familiar with places and gave us much interesting information during our trip. She gave us enough time to complete and enjoy each attraction. She also gave enough time for breakfast, lunch, dinner and bathroom breaks throughout the journey.our driver Abdel Torres,he was a great and excellent bus driver. He was always ready early in the morning and ready for the day. He got us safely and promptly to our destination each day. our Tour guide and driver both was treating with us very nicely and respectably. They were always smiley face, I never heard a single complaint from them.I. I would strongly recommend this tours to anyone in a heartbeat. I am also looking forward to the other trips that TakeTours offers. :)
I highly recommend this tour. Not only for the price but for the organization too.
We did this tour on august 2016 and we had a nice time with the tour organizers and mates. Our tour guide Suki IS THE BEST TOUR GUIDE WE'VE EVER HAD. We had much fun during the long bus trips and she taught us a lot on the places we were stopping at.
The Hotels we stayed at were of good quality, with swimming pool to relax after the long trips and confortable beds. The only thing we found to lack was the (unincluded) breakfast service.
If you happen to be on holidays in New York and want to experience the Niagara Falls tour, DO CHOOSE this tour. You won't regret it!
Thank you Suki! Thank you mr driver!
Your Spanish friends.
This tour was so much fun. 3 days went by so fast. I would on this tour again if I want to. I'm going to go tell a friend to take this tour. It's so much fun. Thank you so much TakeTours i hope i go on a other tour with you guys
The trip was awesome!! We had a such a good time. Even though we did this tour during the 4th of July weekend and there were tons of people visiting the same places, we did not have to wait in long lines for any attractions. Our tour guide, Mai Zang organized everything very well. He has a great time management skills. We didn't miss any activity during these three days. We went to Watkins Glen (beautiful falls & lovely atmosphere! if you are elderly and/or not healthy, you should skip this. It was a non-stop walk for 60 mins on the trails), watched Thundering Water Show, saw the Niagara Falls from NY side and night view from the Canadian side (Rainbow Bridge view was so cool, so was the night view) on our first day. On the second day, we watched a movie in IMAX Theater, did the Hornblower Cruise (this was the best, mind-blowing!!DO NOT SKIP IT!), went to Skylon Tower, ate lunch at the Revolving restaurant (Incredible view, delicious lunch, a great experience), drove to Toronto City where we went to Ontario lake first, CN tower (top view, the glass floor), and the Aquarium (liked the shark tunnel and jellyfish). On the third day, we went to Thousand Island and ate breakfast on the cruise. The hotels were just fine during our two-night stay, no complaints at all. Driver, David was friendly and drove safely. Mai Zang was very familiar with places and gave us much interesting information during our trip. He contacted us a day before and reminded us about our travel documents, and shared info about the Customs. He gave us enough time to complete and enjoy each attraction. He also gave enough time for breakfast, lunch, dinner and bathroom breaks throughout the journey. I highly recommend this tour. I am also looking forward to the other trips that TakeTours offers. :)
We (me and my wife) really enjoyed the tour. We had great time together. The tour guide was very nice. If we went on the tour by ourselves I am pretty sure we would not be able to visit so many places in that short period of time and it would cost couple of hundred dollars more. The only thing I have missed in this tour is visiting at least one island in Thousand Islands (specially the Boldt Castle on Love Island). It would have taken couple of hours more time to complete the tour but that would made the tour more attractive.
The tour Guide Cecilia was awesome. She was very helpful in answering all our questions. She was firm and was able to get all of us back on to the bus on time. The attractions that people should not miss are 1) The Imax movie 2) The Hornblower cruise 3) The Skylon tower observation and possibly lunch ( i skipped lunch and i don't regret it. There is pizza shop at the Skylon tower) 4) The Thousand Island cruise and breakfast. The driver was very matured, polite and drove safely. The only disappointment is the inn we stayed in on the first night. Also, i think there should be a caveat about the Watkins Glen park . If you are not healthy enough please don't attempt it. The walk down the mountain was 60 mins nonstop. My legs turned to jelly through out the 60 mins it took to descend the mountain .
Three days were not enough to enjoy the cities and places that we visited honestly. However, I enjoyed the whole trip. Unfortunately, our tour guide, driver and, we as passengers had a hard time because of one rude, disrespectful passenger. I am thankful about our tour guide Sam Lin Yu and our driver for providing to us safety trip. I have planned to take another trip with this company when I have enough time.
PERFECT BUDGET TOUR:
If you really want to visit Niagara Falls on Canada side and Toronto, this is the only best option that includes all you need for a trip.
1) No need to spend time, money and energy in driving the car for more than 8 hours.
2)You need not spend a single penney for transportation, parking and hotel stay.
3) Need not worry about planning and surfing in finding best places to visit.
4) They take us to the most important places in NYC, Canada and Toronto.
Frankly speaking, Niagara falls from Canada side is the must see attraction and its really beautiful 200% than from the US side. So spending one night and half day in Newyork city Canada for Niagara Falls is 200% worth.
We started at 7AM on friday (24 June 2016) from East Brunswick pick up. From there we went to Jersey city at 8AM for remaining passenger pick up. We met our Tour Guide there and got the seat number for the bus. The bus came at 8.15 and we met tour guide FAITH. We left new jersey and on the way we stopped at new york and then to Watkins Glen Park. We spent pur afternoon time there and took some small breaks, then finally reached Niagara Falls US side at 7PM. we took pics and then we headed towards Canada border. The customs in canada is simple and we reached Canada Niagara falls at 8PM. From there it's only 15 min to the hotel. Universal inn is the hotel name in Canada and it was very decent and clean. We spent the night at Niagara falls since we had fireworks at 10PM friday. then we slept at hotel.
We did all the activities in Niagara Falls, Canada from morning 7.45 to 12 noon, like IMAX theatre show, Maid if the mist (hornblokers) and then Skylon tower.
Since we had already done IMAX and maid of the mist in US side last year, i booked only for Skylon tower (44.75$/person) which was costly but definitely worth it. It includes top view and lunch at 360degree revolving restaurant. It was amazing.
Then we started our journey to Toronto which is about 2.5 hrs from there. WE reached Toronto and it is an ordinary city like Newyork. tall buildings everywhere. We spent some time there. We had some activities CN tower, Aquarium, etc. But it's good to roam around there instead of spending money in all activities. Aquarium is quite costly. Then we left for the hotel. This time a big surprise was waiting for all the passengers. We stayed at The Hotel Radisson (4 star) and it was amazing.
We started 5.30 in the morning and headed to Thousand Islands,Canada. We all booked for Cruise Tour and Breakfast which is worth, because we didnt have any other places to visit on this day. The cruise was about 1 hr and it was quite good. We had breakfast in the boat itself. (35$- for cruise and breakfast together). Then we started leaving to US border Customs.
We reached US border at 11.15AM adn it took some time there and then we headed towards New jersey and we reached NJ at 6.30PM. It was a short drive but since we spent 2 days in roaming, it was tired to travel on the last day. But still we managed bcos we had 2 breaks in between. Finally we reached NJ and the trip ended happily. The tour guide trip was collected (24$ per person) which is worth, bcos our tour guide FAITH was informative and had patience.
Total Expense for 2 persons:
304$ package + 48$ tips + 170 $ all entree tickets + 100$ other expenses like food, shopping etc. So total is only 622$ for 2 persons includes everything.
Its really worth for a foreign trip for 3 days. And i will definitely recommend my friends. If you take up this trip by your own, you will end up spending lot of money in car transportation, hotel and parking. This was a hassle free trip for us.
The tour guide will give you the pricing itinery for all the activities and ask you to buy a package for 194$ which includes 7 activities and 1 breakfast and 1 lunch at skylon. You need not buy this one and you can simply ask her to get the tickets for what you are interested. We bought tickets only for Skylon Tower (with lunch), Thousand Islands and breakfast which is 164 for 2 persons total. You can even prefer taking Ticket for IMAX if you are interested.
CN tower and Skylon Tower are similar.
I just recently came back from this trip and honestly it was incredible. Our tour guide Andy was wonderful. He was very attentive and was very friendly. He gave us a lot of information. There were 3 attractions I didn't participate in and that was just a personal choice because I wanted to travel around the city. I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone and I will definitely be taking more tours in the future with this great company.
Wow! We did so much in 3 days. It was an awesome trip. I enjoyed every moment. Shout out to our tour guide and our bus driver! You guys were an awesome team. Tom, you did an excellent job, I don't know how you are able to do so much and still keep us organized. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us. We will be touring again with Taketours. Hopefully, we can put in a special request for Tom
The 3 day tour package to Canada (Toronto and Niagara Falls) was more than worth it! I could definitely see myself traveling with this company again!
The Hornblower Cruise, Skylon Tower Restaurant, and CN Tower are a must go! If you are on a budget you must not skip those! The rest of the attractions are also really good and if you have the extra money, you should really go for it to boost the experience! The only attraction that I feel you could skip and not feel bad about it is the chinese dinner at chinatown. The food was great but you share with the other people in the tour. I just had the unfortunate experience that the people I was sharing with were rude. They ate most of the food real fast so I left the restaurant starving. Other than that, I believe the Chinese dinner would have been an exciting experience as they serve authentic chinese food in a traditional chinese set up.
Our tour guide, Wendy, was the best! She made sure that everything went smoothly and she explained everthing very thoroughly. She went above and beyond! She made the whole trip fun, informative and incredibly smooth!
We are more than excited to know that you enjoyed the trip.
Thanks for posting this review.
Our tour guide, Faye, was fabulous! Same for our bus driver! Our group of travelers enjoyed the trip and itinerary immensely as well. We did all the optional tours/sightseeing and it was worth our money for the wonderful experience and sights! The additional meals were awesome too. However, the bus had some faulty usb charging ports and the wifi could not be used as well.
My family had a great time! Our tour guide, Jupiter, was great! He had us on schedule the whole time and gave us valuable information. I have already recommended the tour to a few friends, as I was very pleased. The price was great! I would recommend an upgrade for electrical outlets in the bus.
I recommend this tour. The tour is very cheap and very organized with our very efficient tour guide, Jupiter. My wife, friends, and I enjoyed so much. We had fun inside the bus too. The last person to board the bus every time we finished visit one attraction was required to sing a song. This style made our tour always on time. I have mentioned earlier, the tour was amazing. The driver and tour guide were very nice person. The only thing I would recommend to improve the tour is to have a power outlet and smart phone charger inside the bus. I used to travel once a month from New York to North Carolina. The bus that I usually rode had power outlet and smart phone chargers.
This was an awesome trip! If you're thinking too much about it, just do it now! We went there expecting to have a good weekend, but it turned out to be incredible and an unforgettable trip! Thanks to Dragon, our guide, he was so patient, so clear, so nice! We definitely will do this again... We recommend it 100%
Overall the tour was very good and I would recommend it since it is very cheap and you get to do a lot of things. Nice bus driver and tour guide that helped out with everything.
The only thing we weren't very happy about was that the schedule changed when we arrived, and therefore we missed some of the things listed on the tour that we wanted to do.
Otherwise it was a great trip!
TOUR GUIDE. Benny is okay. I like that he is on-time and strict with the itinerary but I felt that he could have done better with his accent and speech. I noticed when he failed to remember the word, he would skip what he wanted to say and translate it to Chinese right away. I mean, we pay to learn too. I wish he had a note that he would just read so he didn't forget and to practice speaking it.
ACCOMODATION. It is decent although Travelodge has a bit of a smell. Wifi does not work very well but hey, you're on vacation so put your cell phone away.
TRANSPORT. Driver is okay. He's nice.
ITINERARY. Best part of the trip. Time has been really utilized
FOOD. Just look for a place close by. AVOID CHINESE BUFFET AT ANY COST! Most of them are filthy, disgusting, and weird! Not worth your money.
FAVE PART: Watkin's Glen, Niagara Falls, the Towers, Thousand Island Cruise and breakfast
WORST PART: Cultural Show, Toronto Cruise, Chinatown
Last year I went on another tour and comparing past experience this trip worth every penny ... My tour guide (Wendy ) was very professional and explained in detail each next step in the itinerary and additional information on each attraction . Cash is needed and if possible use the dollar Canadience especially in Toronto , I chose to do 5 of 8 Optional attractions in the itinerary.
preferably use the bathroom before boarding the bus , are long hours sitting and watching the time measured is generally good but if you go for the first time to Niagara Falls
We enjoyed this tour a lot, despite the many negative reviews I read. The hours spent on the bus were many, as expected since the destinations were very far. Our guide Jupiter was great, and together with our driver, Everett, he managed to handle the situation when our tour broke (and also the many complaining people, which where actually just whining about the broken A/C in a hour-long trip). The hotel close to the Niagara Falls was nice but the Wi-Fi wasn't working, and it was at a 20-minutes walking distance from the Falls. The second one was a Crowne Plaza and it was awesome. I suggest not to book all the attractions proposed but just the ones you're interested in, because some are pretty useless (we did Niagara Falls Hornblower cruise, Thousand Island Cruise and Skylon Tower without lunch).
This trip was pretty good and had a lot to do in a short time. The tour guide, Dragon, could have been a little more forth coming with information. We constantly had to ask what we were doing. We weren't allowed to use the rest room on the bus unless it was an emergency. They driver Stepan was great at making stops and getting us to our locations on schedule. Again the tour is a more Chinese guided when it came to the food stops. I would recommend the state park but we were charged for it even though the park is free to the public. Dragon tried to get us to do all the attractions but we didn't. I would recommend the park if you like to walk. The Skylon restaurant that rotates was amazing and the food was great. The Thousand Island tour was nice with the breakfast. Coming back, we stopped at the duty free store. I would recommend everyone save their shopping for that time since the prices were way better than in Canada. I bought a tee shirt for $16.99 in Canada and in the duty free it was there for $10.00. The Canadian Ice wine was also cheaper, and they had different brands in the duty free store. The hotel accommodation on the first night was centralized so we could walk to the falls. The second night, we were isolated in an industrial area with nothing around. This should change because we were in the hotel by 8:00pm and forced to go to bed because there was nothing around. Overall, I had a lot of laughs along with my mom, aunt, and sister for her 38th birthday. :)
Overall a very nice tour. Few regrets: Toronto Chinatown dinner, the bus broke down (cannot control, it's mechanical issue), long wait time for the shuttle back to East Brunswick. Our tour guide Jupiter was great, good sense of humor, very helpful, I miss him. Overall a fantastic, but hectic tour...
The tour was great and very well planned. The schedule was tight- we wasted no time and enjoyed many places. Accommodation was good: Niagara was in the town, Toronto was out of the city center. What I did not like was that the guide only cared for the attractions: that is to say that you were given no information and no care at all when you chose not to participate in some of them. Moreover they ask you to pay a $10 for a free attraction (Watson Glen State Park) and you pay in USA dollar the amounts fixed in Canadian dollar (that is to say that you pay about 5% more for any attraction)
Great trip for the price! Watkins Glenn a must see. Niagara Falls are amazing and we also enjoyed the views from the Canadian tower. Food was not that great at Skylon Tower, but view was fabulous,(revolving restaurant). The Thousand Island tour was fabulous. Ontario boat ride was boring. Chinatown lobster was not that great, lobster had this green stuff coming out. I will not get money back since it was paid for already. Tip: 5 minutes walk from there you'll find Red Lobster, and other restaurants. Overall: we had a great time, will travel again. Thank!! Tom Z, and Bob, the driver..
While this tour is a great deal for the money, the optional itinerary is rather padded. Watkin's Glen State Park is gorgeous, but free to get into ($75/bus) but they charge you $10 - expect to pay a few extra dollars for everything you buy through the tour. But the major complaint I have is that the itinerary was changed and while an email was meant to be sent notifying guests, I never received it and we missed seeing the falls from the NY side. The hotel was pretty awful and in a very inconvenient location, but not surprising for the price. The bus was okay, with the exception of a few very loud customers and the couple of people who insisted on using the bathroom despite being told not to. The wifi was useless. Our tour guide was okay, but I would have like more information upfront, especially time tables in advance as much of the optional extras were not very appealing to us and not knowing our timetable made planning difficult. I recommend the 1000 island tour, Watkins Glen State Park and the Hornblower Cruise. The other optional activities weren't really worth the time or money. We also got stuck at the border for nearly 2 hours as there was 1 person who obviously had a felony charge against him and wasn't allowed into the country - annoying for the rest of us, and worth stating clearly or linking to the rules. Overall, a good tour for the money, but very rushed.
My first time using TakeTours was this past 4th of July weekend, and it was absolutely fabulous. Me and 2 of my other friends went, and we had an awesome time. Jupiter was the best tour guide and George was the best bus driver. They both were funny, friendly, and accommodating. We had no issues on this tour and enjoyed every last thing we did on the itinerary. Except for the wait to come down from the Skylon Tower, but that was the operation of the tower not the tour. All we had to do was show up and everything else was planned out. It was flawless and can't wait to use TakeTours again.
My husband and I were on the 6-day US East Coast tour from July 4th 2015 and we had an awesome time! The package was optimum to what we preferred, as we covered many places of attractions in a short period of time. My compliments to both the tour guide, Marina, and driver, Coe, for their professionalism and hospitality, and good patience and kindness towards everyone on board (including children and elderly). I observed a precious working harmony as they both operated tirelessly to maximize customers satisfaction in both service and safety of the entire journey. Thanks Coe, for loading and unloading the entire group's baggage diligently every day; and extending courtesy and sincerity to elderly folks who didn't understand English. And thanks Marina for the buoyant spirit that brought cheers, and an efficient coordination that provided value-added experience. You guys are excellent team indeed !
This was an awesome trip! If you're thinking too much about it, just do it now! We went there expecting to have a good weekend, but it turned out to be incredible and an unforgettable trip! Thanks to Dragon, our guide, he was so patient, so clear, so nice! We definitely will do this again... We recommend it 100%
Our tour guide, Vivian, was great! She's very organized and pleasant. Our bus driver, on the other hand, was very rude. He got into several arguments with other passengers. Loved Watson Glen State Park in upstate New York (bring walking shoes) and Niagara Falls was spectacular (you will get wet)! We also enjoyed the Thousand Island cruise but the breakfast was not that great. We were also less than impressed by the Skylon and CN towers. We were hoping to explore downtown Toronto a little bit but it rained all day. Hotel accommodations were not that good (Days Inn and Toronto Plaza Hotel). Although the Days Inn was in a great location close to the Falls and restaurants. Be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars more for the activities and service fees. I recommend picking only the activities you are interested in and using the time during other activities to explore on your own or grab a proper meal. For example, we had a good breakfast at IHOP while the group was at the IMAX close by. We also spent extra time at the Falls taking photos etc while the group had pricey lunch ($45) at the Skylon tower. We had planned to take a quick photo op at the CN Tower and then go off on our own to explore downtown Toronto, but we were impeded by the rain. The meal stops were either fast food or Chinese so we went off on our own a few times in search of better food options. Overall, it was a good trip for the money but I also learned that I prefer exploring on my own than sticking to the rigid schedule and itinerary offered by a tour.
Absolutely amazing trip! Took the trip at the end of June 2015 with my boyfriend (from England).
Jennifer Wang, our tour guide was very good, explained things very well, and took care of everything. We felt very relaxed.
The attraction prices were reasonable and the bus seats were comfortable and there were plenty of breaks along the way!^-^ The driver was awesome and we felt safe with him driving. We left on time and always made it on time for our booked attractions!
The overall experience was FANTASTIC! We would highly recommend this trip to everyone!
This trip was fantastic!
The tour guide (Wendy) was very professional and took care of everything during the three days.
Bus and hotels were correct.
The only thing was that when we finished the trip, we realized that last day we didn't do the Secret Caverns as expected, and no explanation was given.
The rest was fantastic.
Take cash to pay the attractions to the guide the first day!
This was our second trip with TakeTours. On our first trip, we did not know what to expect, but we were not disappointed! Unfortunately this trip did not quite live up to the high expectations we had after our first trip...
We arrived at our pick up point in Jersey City at 8:00AM, 15 minutes prior to our departure time. Every other coach had arrived a set off by 8:45AM, but we received the news that ours had broken down en route from the first pick up point from Chinatown. This was resolved as quickly as it could be, however, and after around a 1-2 hour delay, we were finally on our way. And with a few shorter restroom/lunch breaks, we actually made it to our first stop, Watkins Glen, 5 minutes before a coach that had set off on time!
Watkins Glen is beautiful, highly recommend you do this excursion and have an ice cream when you get to the end if you have time!
We then set off to Niagara Falls. We went straight to check in at the hotel (a 10 minute walk from the Falls) which is great to see in the dark. The hotel we stayed in was very tired and in need of refurbishment, but clean and comfortable and close to the Falls.
The next day we did the Hornblower boat trip, Skylon Tower, Toronto Harbour Cruise and CN Tower - they were all fantastic! We skipped the meal in Chinatown and instead headed to a fantastic bar just a 3 minute walk from the restaurant the coach dropped us off at. We had plenty of time for food and a couple of beers!
The hotel that night was much better than the previous night - modern, clean, comfortable and all the amenities you'd expect of a four star hotel.
We had a very early start on the final day. It was about a 3 hour drive to the 1000 Island boat tour where we had breakfast and an enjoyable hour cruise around the islands.
After that, it was straight home with a few service station stops on the way.
Our tour guide, Jupiter, was fantastic. Our only complaint on our first tour was the terrible timing of our fellow coach trippers - we set off around 30-45 minutes late every stop! Jupiter threatened to make anyone who was late to sing a song. Sure enough, we were delayed at our first stop by one family, and he carried out his threat and made them sing a song. After that, we never set off any more than 5 minutes late!
Overall, a great trip and excellent value for money - despite the broken down coach and disappointing hotel on the first night.
We will be booking again!
The tour was perfect! The guide, Jupiter, was very organized, professional, and very helpful The same about Willy, the driver. The only thing I really didn't like was accommodation. The linen was not clean and I think they should pay attention to that. In general, I recommend this tour to everyone, if you go with Jupiter - You are really lucky then. He is a very good guide!!!
Thank you for my happy weekend. Our guide, Vivian, was very nice and everyone in my group tour were on time and helped each other. I really enjoyed this trip and I hope to go another trip with TakeTours again.
Hi guys!! I would like to start of by saying that this is the first review I have EVER written online. I never really take the time out to write them but decided to for this, not only because of the GREAT TRIP but also because of how useful the reviews on this website were for my mom and I for our Canada tour this Memorial Day Weekend. I would like to start of by thanking Dragon our tour guide for being so AMAZING, welcoming and organized. TakeTours is amazing and the itinerary was beyond great.
I say.. follow everyone's instructions on what to pack, everything I read worked for us. I had such a wonderful time, the places we visited are just amazing and for this price my mom and I want to do it again next year.
Very important, bring cash with you guys! And do not forget that you will be crossing the border, so fruits and fresh meats are not allowed, entering or leaving Canada. If you do decide to take fruits for the ride to Canada, make sure that is the first thing you eat as the ride goes on, just to be sure that by the time you make it to the border you wont have any on you and would not need to throw it out, because believe me they are strict with this.
It's just so much to write, again.. this tour is a MUST GO!!!!
A group of three of us from Australia decided to do this tour, as it was very cheap and we desperately wanted to see Niagara Falls. Our tour guide, Dragon, was great and was very well organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. To our surprise the hotels that we stayed in were rather nice, they were clean and just what we needed for an overnight stay.
This tour was excellent and I would really recommend it to people who are thinking of visiting this area. There is quite a bit of coach travel involved, but it is broken down by several stops. For what we paid, it is excellent value. Our tour guide, Faith, was brilliant. She was very informative and very well organised. I had booked the tour for the wrong day, but she sorted it out for and allowed us to join her tour. We weren't originally going to do all the different attractions, but am so glad that we did. I felt that we got to see a lot of Canada and The Falls in a short amount of time.
I have a friend who came from the United Kingdom and wanted to go around the United States. I right away thought of this website TakeTours.com which me and my husband used in the past. The tours offered are great and practical. They are cheap and you are relaxed not thinking of driving. Our tour guide was so nice and accommodating. I requested for a change of seat and he accommodated. I found him even nicer and kind when he lent me his phone charger, not to miss capturing moments of the tour. He can be strict with punctuality, but I don't blame him. He incorporates humor though- he asks the late person to sing every time it happens. He speaks English well and is knowledgeable. The driver doesn't speak English, which makes him quiet, but that's okay. They are both nice and respectful. The only negative comment is about the hotel we stayed in on the Canadian side. The heating system was very poor, there was no hair dryer provided, and there was no staff in the morning to assist us.
I bought a 2 day Washington DC tour as a treat for my brother and his family. First day was an hour late start. Mostly Chinese speaking and dinner at Chinese buffet. They were wishing for a bigger bus next time. Overall it was a fun experience for them. For that price, it was worth it!
My grandma took me on this tour for 2 days and I learned and saw so much in so little time that I wish she can take me on another trip soon. I loved the trip and how everything was on time regardless of traffic jams and street closing because of the cherry blossom festival. Our tour guide and our driver have to be given a medal for making everything PERFECT and getting out of situations that only someone with dedication will achieve and that was our wonderful TANA . Thank you for your leadership and quick decisions. Hope to see you again.
I went on the trip with my 13 year old grandson. It was amazing what we learned and saw in the short two day trip, all thanks to the wonderful guide of this tour. Her name is amazing. Tana- she knew and acted fast on situations that would have delayed us, such as diverting away from a traffic jam in Washington DC etc she truly was a leader in my eyes. The trip was not to be forgotten because it was precise and on time. I would look forward to another short trip soon because it was well worth it and stress free for all the passengers ( very stressful to the guide and driver) I want to thank everyone that made this trip so memorable and such a wonderful experience. Thank you Tana, you are an amazing human being.
The success of any guided trip depends solely on how the tourist guide managed and organized the trip - for my 2 day trip to Niagara Falls, Jeng and his company did it with a smile all day. This made my trip enjoyable and fun. Exploring the Niagara area with their information made the trip informative as well as educational. Keep up the good work TakeTours Company.
Took this trip in July and really enjoyed how much natural beauty there was to appreciate. Watkins Glen State Park in the Finger Lakes area of New York is so calming and unique with 19 waterfalls. Niagara Falls, Horseshoe Falls in Ontario Canada are beautiful and fun in both the day and the night with colored lights and fireworks show. Toronto is a very clean and friendly big city with a beautiful harbor walk alongside of Lake Ontario. Before crossing the border back into the USA we rode on the 1000 Islands Cruise, every home and every island was different. We really enjoyed this experience.
I bought this tour for my parents while they were visiting me in New York. They are Spanish and they do not speak English. Terr,y the tour guide, was amazing taking care of them and translating everything for them the 3 days.
On the second day, my parents have an incident with their credit card and Terry even advanced some cash for them. We could have not wished a better service and care.
Thank you so much Terry Cheun!
Good tour and the trip was enjoyable. Vicky, our tour guide is informative and took good care of us throughout the tour. Itinerary was good for the weather conditions. We will take another tour with these guys for sure.
It was an excellent tour. I had so much fun and got to see so many beautiful things. For instance, the Skylon Tower, the Niagara Falls at night and in the morning. It was one of the most memorable experiences of all. We had the best tour guide, Jennifer, she was amazing. I would love to go on another trip with TakeTours.
Great tour. The long bus drive wasn't too bad since we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Tour Guide, Mina, was really nice and well organized. Since we wanted to do the walk behind the Niagara Falls, and it wasn't in the tour plan, we skipped the lunch in the Skylon Tower and went to do the tour. Mina was able to bring us up the Skylon Tower later on so we had enough time to do the walk and to go up the Skylon Tower.
The Hotel was great, but unfortunately the hotel in Toronto was near the airport, so we weren't able to see much of Toronto.
Overall I would definitely recommend this tour. And if you want to see the Niagara Falls at night: The Hotel in Niagara City was close the the falls, we were even able to see the fireworks-a must see!
The tour was excellent. The tour guide, Faye Kary was the best guide I have ever seen. She really took care of us very nicely, was very organizes AND well-behaved. I would like to take another tour from the same TakeTours.com.
Tour guide was okay. I was expecting he would say something when we crossed any historical landmark but he was mostly quiet. You pay $36 to see the CN Tower and get only 5 minutes to see inside. The tour guide would not give enough time to see inside even though he is aware that there is a long line to get into the building as well as for the elevator wait. Don't spend money to have lunch in Chinatown. Food is very very limited. We were 10 people in a table, and food served was enough for 5 people. From this tour, I enjoyed most the Maid of the Mist and Thousand Island tour. Overall it was okay, but could have been better.
- It is a great tour, in a few days, you will know many sites with stunning views you will never forget. Our guide, Jupiter, was an excellent guide, made the trip enjoyable. The hotel where we stayed was excellent.
I am traveling with my friends to Canada for 3 days. I want to thank my tour guide Mina, she is taking care of us so well, in English and Chinese explains so well, gives a lot of information that is so helpful. It is my first time to join TakeTours, it was a great experience, nice attractions!!!
I am highly recommending this tour, the tour is very nice, especially our experienced tour guide Mina, she is really nice, helpful, explained all the attraction so well with English and Chinese. The Skylon Tower is the best of all to see the Niagara Falls totally. I had a great time traveling with my friends, highly recommend our professional tour guide Mina and this nice tour!
If you buy two tickets you get one free. This tour was fine, otherwise costly. They collect all money in advance for attractions in cash in US $. In itinerary they write for accommodation like Crown Plaza or Best Western Inn, we got Days Inn and Travelodge. In Skylon Tower, they have a fixed space for group- if you can get space near the window, that is fine otherwise don't waste $44 for lunch to sit at an inside table ( revolving restaurant). We were inside the CN Tower for 90 minutes, but there was too much of a crowd, so we got only 15 minutes to spend time over there. The rest of time was waiting for elevators and guide - also not flexible with time. Cost $36 to see the tower.
This was my birthday present to myself. It started out with a bit of confusion, but once we got on our way, what a wonderful time we had! The sites, people, food, housing, and fun were great. I plan to use this company for another trip in the near future. Many thanks to Faith and her driver. 7/23/14.
First, on positive points...the tour is one of the best budget tours. Our guide, Wendy, is prepared, knowledgeable, and checks on everyone. Since it's a road trip, there is more time taken on the road than on the sights itself, of course not a fault to anyone. The pickup came very late and quite inefficient. The driver was grumpy. There was a rainstorm after and there was no provisions where to stay or even a simple protection from the outpour.
This trip was absolutely AMAZING. This was a great budget tour. We were able to see so much of Niagara Falls and Toronto. We had an excellent time with our tour guide. He was friendly and he answered any questions we had. Thank you so much Jupiter (tour guide) and driver too. Both are amazing and very nice people. Many thanks to both of them, we will use TakeTours again.
The trip was great. The journey was way too long and therefore we didn't get enough sleep at the hotel. Roughly 5-6 hours of sleep wasn't enough, especially when we had to travel a lot.
A little bit of snacks would've been wonderful but unfortunately there weren't any arrangements for that. There is a toilet on the bus but we were told not to use it unless it's an emergency, but the tour guide was nice enough to make stops every 2.5-3 hours so that we could use the restroom.
Food was okay in terms of quantity because it was buffet but the quality of the food were all same because it was all Chinese food. Aside from that, we also had other options such as, Indian restaurants which were certainly a lot more expensive than Chinese food.
A tour guard with fluent English is highly recommended.
All together, the tour gets 7 out of 10.
This was a great budget tour. We were able to see so much of Niagara Falls and Toronto. We had an excellent time. The food was okay, and you don't have to go with the group to each buffet and eat the same things. The hotels could have been closer to the sites so you could have more time to explore. The bus was on time and we had a very smooth driver. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful. I would suggest to go over what you want to see the most and only pay for those admissions.
I went on this trip with my mother on September 6, 2013. This was our first tour with TakeTours and we were very satisfied with the tour and Tom, our tour guide. He was friendly and he answered any questions we had. We arrived a little early so we went to Dunkin' Donuts, which is located around the corner from the departure site just in case you want to get breakfast. The bus company prefers that the bathroom doesn't get used, so they have an office located behind Chrystie Street where you could go before departure. For the first meal, there were fast food restaurants to choose from (Burger King, McDonald's, Subway). Keep in mind you have to be back at the bus by a certain time so you would have to be mindful of the food you order, and any lines.
The activities we enjoyed the most were Watkins Glen, A Native Journey: The Spirit of the Mist, Maid of the Mist, Lake Ontario Cruise, and the Thousand Island Cruise.
Day 1- Watkins Glen requires lots of walking down many levels so bring some comfortable walking shoes. For dinner, we had a choice of restaurants at the Welcome Center from Italian, Chinese, Greek, Indian- the prices were very high at $12.95 per person. If you can hold out until you get back to the hotel, there are many restaurants to choose from. After dinner, we went to A Native Journey: The Spirit of the Mist. If you enjoy Native American storytelling through dance, then this is for you. If not, you could spend more time eating dinner at the Welcome Center. From there we went to the hotel, Universal Inn. The hotel was much better than I expected: the room had a microwave, refrigerator, and very comfortable beds. Directly across the street is an IHOP, and down by the light is a buffet place with reasonable prices and a convenience store. By the casino, there are more food choices like Margaritaville, a sub place, and others depending on your budget. After settling in we went to see the Niagara Falls Illumination and fireworks that started about 10 p.m.
Day 2- The first thing we did was Maid of the Mist. I really enjoyed this one. If you want to purchase the picture they take before boarding, it costs $30 for the package, they are not sold separately. No one in our tour wanted to do the IMAX movie, so we had more time for the Skylon Tower and for lunch. I just did the Skylon Tower with no lunch for $15. It's basically a view from the top to see Niagara Falls- I could have skipped this. Others in the group said the lunch was very good. I skipped the CN Tower in Toronto, but others took the tour and said it was just okay because it was raining that day, and it was very cloudy. The Lake Ontario cruise had nice views of the city of Toronto. For dinner, the group went to Chinatown for a seafood dinner. I chose to skip this and found a restaurant that was really good for about $16.95 for two people, and everything came with food for about four people. Others in the group did not enjoy the seafood dinner. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel by the airport, which had free internet access downstairs.
Day 3 - We had to get up very early in the morning to go to the Thousand Islands Cruise. I enjoyed the cruise, but did not eat the breakfast. You can buy snacks on the cruise if you'd like. For lunch, there was a choice of a Chinese buffet, Papa Johns Pizza, Pizza Parlor, Applebee's, and others. There is an $8 per day charge for the tour guide, and $24 for the bus driver; I spent $266.90 (tours/service fee), and $65 on food including the tip. The driver was very good, he got us to all our stops on time and everyone was back at the bus when we were supposed to be. Make sure to bring cash for the tours you wish to take, as they are paid for by group admission. The only thing I didn't like was that we were seated at the back of the bus and it cut into our time for food and bathroom breaks.
My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much. The journey is very long and a lot of time was spent on the bus, but we didn't have to worry about directions or driving, so we slept and read. The weather was great and we got to see Niagara Falls at its best. The falls are amazing and we also enjoyed the lunch and views from the Canadian tower. The Thousand Island tour was fabulous. Faith, our tour guide was very helpful and as I am on a gluten free diet she did her best to facilitate me with an alternative menu and phoned the restaurants ahead to arrange this for me. She also supplied me with fruit and yogurt for breakfast on the Thousand Island Tour because the food available was not suitable. Thank you so much, Faith. We will use Take Tours again.
It was the second time that I booked the same tour. It was a budget tour and this was for a budget price. First time was for myself and a friend. We enjoyed so much from this trip that I recommended it to my husband and my son.
I like to take tours with this company, and I have already booked a tour for 2 days to Washington. I'll continue to recommend this company to others.
Good budget tour. Pros- affordable, convenient, many sites with minimum hassle, clean bus, good accomodations. Cons- bus has no wifi, bathrooms, or cupholders, guide would explain time to get back but we would wait an extra 30" for late people, bus driver was grouchy.
BUS- clean, comfy, basic, assigned seats, no wifi bathrooms or cupholders.
MEALS- bring cash, lots of quick and fast food or planned dinners.
BATHROOM STOPS- every 1-3 hours
HOTEL- better than expected, Clarion Inn and Best Western Plus
SITES- Worth it for the most part, bring cash to pay up front
PASSENGERS- multi national, with various degrees of manners. Not a single person apologized for being 30" late. A lady clipped her 10 year old daughter's fingernails on the tour (gross
!), and some of the tweens were loud and annoying at times
PACE- fast, 7am and 5am leave ti
This trip was absolutely AMAZING.Lets start from the bads then the goods...
I booked the trip for 8 of us and at last minute I booked an extra person. So in total there where 9 of us.
When we got to Chinatown my extra person was not booked on the same bus as us. But I expected this.. This is where I met my tour guide Faith she was very accommodating and since the bus wasn't full she was able to get them to switch my 9th person to our tour.
When we got on the bus she gave us seats but there was some confusion.. Faith got a little overwhelmed I guess and yelled at my aunt.. Which my cousin didn't take lightly but I stepped in and told faith we were all together.. She apologized .. I could understand her because dealing with such a big group can get hectic... And for the rest of the trip she was very nice and accommodating.. And we carried on..
After we where settled it was a smooth sailing..
Now everyone is different but I would NOT recommend the seafood dinner.. I gaged the minute I walked into the place.. And like I said everyone is different.. Because my aunt loved the food my mom thought it was ok.. My uncle ate almost everything the kids ate a little bit.. And the other adults ate normally because they where hungry.. I didn't eat.. This was traditional Chinese food not the greasy stuff you find in NYC and being used to that made it hard for me to get used to the smell of certain foods.. So that is it only two bad things my only bad moment with faith and the food..
Now the good!!
Everything was GREAT!!
The Watkins glen park walk was a breath taking experience it is absolute amazing!!
After that around 7 we reached our hotels on the Canadian side and we were on our own.. Which was great!! We explored the area which is very similar to time square except it has more things to do.. We got to see fireworks by the falls and the nighttime illumination it was beautiful !! The next day was the IMAX movie which we skipped I had done a similar tour but on the US side and the movie was the same so I skipped it because I didn't see it necessary for my family.. Instead we went to the falls and took pictures.. After we had lunch at the skylon tower which was another good experience the food was good and the view was AMAZING.. After we headed towards Toronto we went to the CN tower which was nice but nothing wowed me about it.. Then the cruise again it was relaxing but it didn't wow me.. Then Chinatown which I liked.. My mom wanted to get gifts by the falls but I told her to wait until we got to Chinatown because things could be cheaper and I was right :) also this is where we had the seafood dinner.., the hotel which was great because it had a pool and me and the kids were bathing suit ready and we went for a swim.. The next day we had to wake up at 4am because we were leaving at 5 to head to 1000 islands .. The 1000 island cruise was really nice..and the breakfast was yummy.. After that we headed home and made it right on time ..
Overall it was a great experience and any small bad encounters we had where overlooked because i wasn't going to let it ruin anything..
When doing these tours you have to have an open mind because the schedule is tight but everything that gets done is something that is worth it!!!
The End :)
Overall great trip started out a little crazy but once we got on our bus it was good. Faith was and excellent tour guide. Bus driver was great . We didn't do all xtra stuff but that was ok. Would do it again. Esecially njoyed 1000 islands.
Fantastic trip in terms of seeing everything in such a short amount of time and both the bus and hotels were very comfortable! The trip was made even better by the brilliant bus driver Dave who was always so cheery and welcoming. What let the trip down was our tour guide- often she came across moody and difficult to approach- and also the fact that there is little leniency if you don't want to do all of the optional attractions offered i.e you either have to sit on the bus or walk around near to the site which is often not near much else! We decided to do Maid of the mist, Skylon tower (not the lunch), CN tower and 1000 island cruise (which came with breakfast) which cost $194 for 2 people! I would also warn people that the tour is run by a Chinese company and therefore meals are often Chinese buffets with little else to choose from! Overall it was a budget trip and I would use this company again but would hope for a much better tour guide which would have made the trip much more enjoyable!
i am a tourist from MN Rochester
i booked everything by online
i am really really glad and happy to go with take tours bus and awesome guide Junny. thanks take tours
We went on 10 June and had Lawrence for our guide and Jacky as our driver. It was a fabulous trip we enjoyed greatly and our guide was very informative and organized.
The itinerary was also great and our favourite has to be Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls. Skylon lunch was delicious and the Thousand Islands cruise was gorgeous. We also recommend the lake cruise in Toronto.
Overall a fantastic tour that we highly recommend and we have been telling all our family and friends about it!
More rest was needed for the passengers. 4 hours of sleep every night is not enough for someone to enjoy the trip on the next day. The three day should be extended to a 4 day trip. However, overall it was a great trip for the money.
It was an awesome trip and attractions, the guide and driver (Jason) were great. Only thing is too much Chinese food, should change that issue, but I have a great time and saw many new things and sites in such short time. Mission was accomplished.
I bought this trip for my family and they were generally impressed by its value for money. The accommodation and food were better than what we expected by reading from other's reviews. The sightseeing places were a must see. The itinerary is a bit tight and exhausted (but again my parents are in their late 60s) so overall is good.
This was a fun trip that featured a lot of interesting activities. The activities that we found most worthwhile were Maid of the Mist, lunch at the Skylon Tower, 1000 Island boat cruise and the walk through the Watkins State Park, which was pleasant and also didn't cost anything.
Our tour guide, Mina, was very professional and organized regarding all aspects of the trip. One word of caution is to listen when she says not to be late, as we overslept on the second day by a few minutes and the bus took off without us. Fortunately, we were able to rejoin the group a few blocks away and it was no big deal. Our driver, Jason, was also very courteous and he was able to recommend us places to go when we just wanted to walk around.
As for accommodations they are definitely of the budget variety, with our first night at Universal Inn being rather acceptable and the second night at Travelodge Inn, not as much. Not altogether horrible for this type of tour but we would've preferred slightly better accommodations.
Overall this tour experience was a pleasant one, and if you've never visited Niagara Falls, I would recommend this tour for you.
This was a great tour, the tour guide was very polite and gave very interesting highlights about the places we were visiting. The hotel accommodations were very comfortable. We enjoyed this tour very much.
This was a really great trip. Needs to make changes regarding not using toilet. There must be some way it can be emptied along the trip, however there were enough frequent stops for toilet breaks. The stops for lunches need to be improved as many of us on the trip were not fans of MacDonalds. The itinerary was excellent and I would highly recommend the meal in Chinatown and the meal in Skylon Tower, and the view was better than expected. We met some really great people on the trip and all in all had a good time. Would have been better if all the costs had been up front and not being determined as we went along. The bus was very comfortable and it would have been even better if WiFi was available on the bus.
Great tour for all of us. Tourguide Lawrence was great, busdriver Wilson is from Florida and needs some help to go the right way. The bus we had was not good enough for this tour, seats and legspace to small. It was more like a school bus than a tour coach. The tour itself was great, had a wonderful time at Niagara Falls and Toronto. Just pick the items you want to see and skip the rest.
Hola! A++ - Hello! The tour was great!! We were on the last tour 12.13 and April 14, 2013. They were super-helpful with us, explained everything in detail, well organized and professional. Thanks to our guide Jingsui Lin for his excellent work and professionalism. I recommend this tour to all those people who want to have an unforgettable experience. A + +
The tour was great, OK it was a budget tour and this was for a budget price; more time was spent on the road than at the actual attractions. Also be aware that you need to pay fees for the attractions and the food (one lunch and two dinners) was close to $200; this does't include snacks and drinks purchased each time the bus stops for toilet breaks. You have a choice of any attractions and meals (Chinese) that you want to pay for, If you don't pay the fees, you just have to do everything yourself without the group.
Our tour guide, Anthony and driver, Jason were great, they spoke good English; the tour caters more for Asians (Chinese, Thai, Koreans etc), although our group was International. Here are the things I liked and didn't like: The Corning Glass Center, the cruise on Lake Ontario, Niagara the Canadian side, and Toronto downtown were all excellent. We didn't have the sit down meal at the Skylon Tower, because of the review, but paid $15 for the view, which in my option we should have skipped. Apparently you can buy the ticket online from Skylon website cheaper, other in the group enjoyed their meal at the Skylon Tower and said it was well worth the $45. We didn't visit the CN Tower again because of the review, and were told by others in our group that they were disappointed. Our tour took place mid November so Maid of the Mist was closed as was the Thousand Island tours and Cave of the Wind, these were replaced by Howe Caverns and Old Fort Niagara, interesting but again both could have been missed.
Hotels were of reasonable standard. The Chinese buffet on day one was ok if you like Chinese food; the Chinese round table dinner could be missed as is not suitable if you are a vegetarian and in any case wasn't good value. It's also recommend that you exchange the Canadian money before getting there because exchange rate in US is cheaper. Overall the Tour was of good value for the price paid and we recommend the tour to others.
I really recommend this tour. It was awesome. First, the guide spoke a good english, it was totally understandable and she was really nice. Secondly, I recommend that you all take the optional attractions, except for the diner on the second day. Even if you like chinese food, it's not that great. For Niagara Falls, our hotel was just 10 min walking from the falls. You can enjoy the view by night. Speaking about that. You really have to take the Skylon tower option. The food is delicious and the view on the falls is incredible. Take at least 300$ with you to pay the options and for meals and souvenirs. Pardon me for my english, I am french. See you soon!
As I read bad report on other places in the internet I did not expect too much, and got a big surprise. The tour was absolutly wonderful , absolut worth the money. For seven attractions and tree meals we payed 212 Doller per person, and we would not want to miss one. Long time in bus, but Niagara is far away fron New York. Faith, our tour guide was very nice and helpful. Only bad thing was the border on the first day,too much traffic at the border and we had to wait 2 hours and missed the fireworks over the falls. Hotels were good concerning the price, stops for meal mostly fast food. Meal on Skylon Tower was more than o.k., chinese meal was very good, breakfast on thousand Island boot was ok. Would do this tour again.
Tour was great. Tour guide was Fay who was very helpful. Tour guide collects additional $202 for all of admission fees and the second day's lunch and dinner, the third day's breakfast. I did not see IMAX movie and got discount price. I could have extra 45 min to see real Niagara Falls. Tour guide also collects $18 for tips to tour guide and bus driver before getting off the bus. Departure for Manhattan is in China town. The closest subway station is Grand St (B & D Lines). I will take another tour with TakeTours. Thanks!
I took this tour because you are able to see ALOT in a short period of time. Niagara Falls was AWESOME!!! The Maid of The Mist boat ride was a wet one!! Be prepared to get soaked. The Skylon Tower revolves so you can see Niagara Falls from a higher perspective. Lunch at the Skylon Tower was DELICIOUS. Well worth the money. I do not eat Chinese food very often so I decided to try the Chinese dinner on the second night but it was not to my liking. I was not used to the traditional Chinese way that the food was presented. You are on the bus for long periods of time so be prepared with a book, electronic game or music to keep you occupied. Given that there is so much to do in a short time the wake up time for the last day was at approx. 4:30 AM BUT I slept on the bus because the bus ride was a long one to our destination. Overall I had a GREAT time. I'll probably try the 3 day tour to Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard & Rhode Island next summer. The cost of the trip was well worth it!! Good Value!!
Enjoyed the tour, Niagara Falls was amazing. However my friend and I thought we weren't going to get on the tour at all to begin with. Our names weren't on any list with any tour guide! Not a great start. My advice is don't take the package for everything. The one's that are a must as far as I'm concerned are: Maid of the Mist, Lunch in the revolving restaurant in the Skylon, CN Tower, Tour of the Thousand Islands. The chinese buffet that we stopped for dinner at on the first day was lovely but the one on the second evening was awful. The tour guide had told us before we went into the restaurant that it was even better than the first one, no way! I just ate rice and broccoli, and I love chinese food. Our tour guide was most helpful and our bus driver was great.
This was a great trip. Our tour guide Vivian was very thorough, funny and punctual with all attractions. I enjoyed myself. Although my husband took me for my birthday, this is a great family trip. I will go on another tour.
It's really really a great trip, you can see anything, some for long and somethingelse for less time, but the most important attractions you can see for long time, and just the Niagara Falls cover the price you paid for the entire trip. Nobody gives to you a trip like that for that price. I would do it again, actually I did Washington too...all perfect.
My trip was taken on 13 June 2012 with Faith as our tour leader. Here is the skinny on the trip.
1. Pick and choose what part of the tours you would like to participate in. Many on the bus were handing out the additional $212 for all the tours. Do your research and only see what you want.
2. The Corning Tour is great for children. If you dont have children, you can pass on this event.
3. Make sure you save the $18 per person for the tour leader. They will collect it at the end of the tour.
4. Maid of the Mist is a must! The Skylon Tower is great too. The revolving restaurant is awesome! The food is also tasty.
5. It is an early rise for both days0700/0430. There is a lot of driving. Make sure you entertain yourself.
6.Although the hotels are clean, the beds feel like a box spring only. For $152pp, you cant expect much. There is free internet in both hotels
7. I did not attend the Chinese buffet. I only eat Chinese food within the five boroughs of NYC.
8. Most on the bus with me were of Chinese origin. There is English and Chinese translation.
9. The bathroom is not used on the bus, which i thought was crazy, but it was to my best interest in the long run. I was assigned the back seat, which i had a problem with. We were the only African American couple on the bus. Why do we have to sit in the back? Our seats had extra leg space and was away from the noisy children. It would have been a total travesty to be smelling everyone's deposits had they been allowed to use the bathroom. There are many stops for the bathroom.
10.My cost:$152pp for trip, estimated $177 for tours, $18pp for tour leader and additional money for eating, drinking, gifts($120) etc.
My mum, sister & I enjoyed this tour - we missed the Watkins Glen walk due to rain (luckily the weather was great when we arrived at Niagara/Toronto/1000 Islands). IMAX movie equipment not working but the tour guide made up for it by playing the dvd on the bus. The revolving restaurant was a lovely experience. Ability to opt in/out of activities/meals was good. The Niagara hotel exceeded expectations, but the Toronto hotel the night after was much more basic & in line with the price level. Our tour guide was energetic and did his best to make everyone have a good time. We thought the tour was good value and fun.
My family had a great time and the tour guide Dolka is always around to take care of our needs. She put together a great package for us to see 9 different attractions in this tour. I will recommend this tour to anyone looking for funs and sight seeings.
Me & my husband enjoyed this trip a lotttt.....the tour guides Juan and Niki were so helpful.. They managed everything nicely.. And the bus driver Mike was nice too.. We would like to give them five out of five..... And the trip 4 out of five....overall it was enjoyable.. ...
I just returned from my first bus tour and was very satisfied. May our tour guide made the experience worth remembering she was absolutely wonderful! Some recommendations would be for the buses to have power outlets. It is a long trip and I would have liked to work on stuff on my laptop. I was allowed to charge my phone with a car charger but it would have been nice to know this ahead of time. Another recommendation is to go easy on the Chinese buffets. I am a vegetarian and can only eat so much broccoli. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotels because we had been warned that it was not a five star hotel. While they were not five star they were definitely clean. I agree with some of the reviewers who felt that passengers should have told in advance that they would have to pay for excursions in advance. This way one could have the money ready in advance and not be worried about whether they are being asked to pay too much. We skipped the Imax movie and took the Journey Behind the Falls instead. Both cruises were a little boring in my opinion and the fact that it was cold did not help. The overall cost was good and I would recommend the tour to others.
Tour guide Nina was very friendly and she was always helpful.
We really appreciated the tour guide courtesy and she was a great help during this tour.
It was a good tour however the following issues need improvement.
1. The tour operator website does not provide correct information regarding pricing for the onsite attractions and the participants are confronted with a higher price during the tour.
2. The tour did not stop at the Niagara Falls on the USA side and we have visit the falls on the Canadian side only.
3. The hotels accommodations was found poor and the tour operator should use better hotels.
4.This is my second time doing the same tour and both time I have experienced that at the end of the tour, the bus driver wanted to drop-off the participants at a different location which they where pickup. This issue is very disturbing
It was a wonderful experience for me and my family with a very organized and flexible guide Mina who made our tour unforgettable. The tour covered many beautiful views worth of seeing. The only thing is they have to update their prices, make sure to have extra money with you. Overall,it was worth of every penny! I would love to go with them again
We just came back from 3-days Niagara Falls and Toronto tour. My husband, our 13 year old daughter and I enjoyed it very much. Our tour guides Nikki and John where great and out bus driver Mike was outstanding and very friendly and professional. Tour was great and very informative, bus was very comfy, and hotel was great. Thanks John and Nikki and Mike-you made our vacation unforgettable. Yuriy, Helen and Gabi from Atlanta
It was a good tour but they should update their pricing for the excursions. The posted pricing was not updated and we were surprised when the tour guide start collecting fee for the skylon tower tour, ontatio tour and etc. It's a mis representation. Also, they should give an visible identification for each of the guests, it was hard to know who's who in the group. It's hard to understand the way the tour guide speak. Niagra falls is great. I don't care of the corning ware tour, the ontario cruise and chinatown.Thousand island tour is okay but skip the breakfast, not much to eat.over all it was good just need to update their website about their tour pricing.
Had a great time. Except for the stop at the Chinese buffet. It was to pricy and I don't care for Chinese food that much and so did the pepole I was with. Also the add says that the bus has a restroom the only problem is that you can't use it. That's ok but its not when someone else does not listen and use it. Also when you do travel with a bus tour everyone on the tour needs to listen to the tour guide and driver and be back to the bus when they say and not 45 min. later. We had a very big problem with that and it caused several probelems of us running late and we missed a couple of attractions. But all and all the tour guide Okie ( I think that is what she said her name was. Had a hard time understanding her half the time) was really was sweet and she tried to make everyone happy and the bus driver Larry was great also. I would take the trip again.
The bus broke down and our trip was delayed by 5 hours hence we missed the Night View of Niagara. Management need to look after maintenance of buses.
Tour guide Wendy was wonderful and the places we stopped at were nice.
had good time, weather was great. did not like the fact that on more than one trip, the guide did not want you to use the toilet on the bus and you had to wait and wait for the bus to get to a rest area. This was the only bad thing about the trip.
I would definity take another tour. Thank.
We had a great time, our tour guide, Sandy was outstanding. She joked, provided information and assistance if you needed any. It was my son's (9 yrs. old) first time to Niagra. Just one of the Inn on the U.S. side, I wish they would change.
We took the trip departing from New York on 19 Sept. Our tour guide, Wendy was extremely nice, responsible and helpful, even with people more advanced in age. I would recommend this tour as we have seen very beautiful places in just 3 days, in my opinion it gives value for money.
- The tour was very good. Much better hotels than we expected, especially that of Niagara Falls. The guide explained everything in Chinese and English, although it was a bit hard to understand. The hours of bus not do anything too long, there are frequent stops which went well. The only thing is you have to take some cash, because the activities have to be paid on the bus, and you can not use a credit card. If you want to take all the tours, you will pay about $165, but you choose what you want to see.
Trip was well planned but Motel's selected were not 3 stars as implied.
It will help the passangers if they are told to bring exact cash for pooling to buy tickets as group.it was bit embarrasing as we had planned to use credit cards.Guide was good and she could explian in English & Chinese well.
We have taken niagara trip 9/10/11 Sept, 2011. Our trip was adventurous and fun. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She loves her job which makes it more perfect. Drive was excellent was driving safely non stop 20 hours. The hotel accommodations were excellent. Worth each penny spent. We had a blast. I would highly recommended this tour.
I went on this trip with a friend of mine and we had a great time. Sure, the long bus trips are tiring but still, one doesn't have to organize anyhing and can just enjoy the whole trip. Everything is planned well and we had plenty of time at the single attractions. Maid of the Mist is highly recommendable!!!! The tour guide was friendly and well informed.
We had a lot of fun on this tour. The tour guide and driver were great, we got information on the way to each attractions.
Here are the things I liked and didn't like:
->Corning Glass Center - but the time stopped there was bit short like 1.5 hrs I think at least 2 hrs plus should be fine.
->Maid of the midst - highly recommend
->Skylon Tower -it's better if you could buy the ticket online from skylon website because it's cheaper.
->Toronto Downtown - nice city for sight seeing and attractions if having more time.
->Thousand Ireland - have fun for 1-hr cruise BUT
Hotel is a bit far from the cruise so we left the hotel around 5am and were there around 8am to catch the first cruise with paid breakfast ($12). It's nice if you could prepare your own breakfast to save some money and be prepared for the very late lunch because our trip got to the mall around 2pm and tour guide didn't say anything about what time for lunch so I thought lunch should not be late but we had lunch around 2.30pm I almost passed out and someone on the bus were yelling on the way to lunch.
->Hotels were good - a bit too far from the hotel to thousand Island.
->It was raining all 3 days on my trip (labor day).
->IMAX movie - if you expected it is exciting and advantous ,just skip it - it was little bit boring. Kind of historic stuff.
->We expected to visit the places as said in the tour description but tour didn't make it like Cave of the Wind on first day - they just skipped it.
Just my thought:
->Chinese buffet are bit pricey, the bus will park very near the buffet. If you don't want to eat it you have to walk far away to find something else.
->Duty free shop on Canada side - the goods(perfume) price are similar to US side, not good deal.
->Highly recommend you exchange the Canadian money before getting there because exchange rate in US is cheaper.
My wife and I were in the tour to Niagara with the group on 17/18/19 August,2011. We wish to place on record our appreciation of the help & support provided by the young guide - Wendy and the driver Mr.Coustavo. We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The hotel accommodations were excellent. We will, if circumstances permit, avail of such tours in the future too.
The tour itself was fun. I had a good time. However, the itinerary was not always followed. The hotels were ok. But basically you get your money's worth. The bus driver was good and our tour giude was Faith. She was very nice and helpful.
This was an action packed, fun tour.
It would be great to have an additional day, and spread out the events.
The visit to the Corning Glass Center e.g. was a little bit too short.
On the whole, it was a great adventure.
The tour guide was knowledgable, friendly and extremely patient.
This tour is highly recommended.
Let me start with the good: the tour guides and driver were very nice and considerate of our needs; they stopped the bus often for food or restroom; they put on movies so we wouldn't get bored; and they made sure everything was organized and ready to go when we arrived to a site or attraction. The hotels we stayed at were also better than I thought they would be. Overall very pleasant experience.
Now the bad: when we arrived to take our bus everything was very chaotic. There were 4 buses with the same name and nobody, including us, knew on which bus to go. We had to be asking from bus to bus if we were on their list; this is very inconvenient when you are carrying luggage. We spent a lot more than we thought we would on the attractions we were taking plus the food; be prepared to take about $200 per person cash if you want to experience the main attractions and eat well.
It was a fast paced tour. I did enjoy it, but not as much as I did on other trips with TakeTour. The stops for food, were mostly at the chinese restaurant. We covered a lot of places in the 3 days. Overall not a bad trip.
The trip exceeded all my expectations, and was awesome in every way! Awesome places to see and a great guide!
We purchased the whole package and enjoyed every bit of the trip. The sights were all amazing, and especially Niagara Falls definitely a place that one must see; from all sides and both during night and day.
Our tour guide, Sandy, is the best tour guide I have ever met. She's very devoted to her job, great at planning and does her best for the tourists to get the most out the trip. Aside from that, she's so cheerful that absolutely everybody will love the tour.
The trip to Niagara was great. Very, very well organized. Our tour guide Leo was the nicest guy and he was really good with managing the time, making the stops when needed so the trip didn't feel tiring despite the distance. Hotels we stopped at were really nice, no complaints. The attractions are optional, you can skip whatever you want, no pressure at all. I really liked the organization, there were a lot of stops, enough time for everything and room for adjustment if/when something was delayed etc. All in all, good times!
The tour was awesome. A lot got done in the short three days and two nights. The lunch (salmon) at skylon tower was excellent with the Niagara Falls view as it turned around 360 deg. The lobster dinner at Toronto's chinatown was not at all recommendable, the breakfast on the boat at Thousand Island tour was just "ok" honestly better than nothing for us "captured audience". The hotel "Old Stone Inn" location at N Falls was great but the service desk was not friendly at all. There was a huge bug in the shower, two bath towels and 1 face towel provided for the three of us, within walking distance to the Friday night fireworks which we almost missed due to a "Burger King" stop 30 min. prior to arrival at N Falls & traffic delay at the border. The chinese lunch buffet on the 1st day is not worth it at all for $14/person. The Pizza deli would have been a better choice. I thoroughly enjoyed the "Maiden of the Mist" and the "Thousand Island" boat tour. I would have been better off bringing a breakfast bar and saved the money for souvenir. The corning glass stop was great, wish we didn't stop at Burger King so we could have spent more time there. The Imax theatre show of the N Falls was great also. Other than that, it was an unforgettable experience
My husband and I enjoyed to trip. Our tour guide was Faye, she is very nice. Be prepared for a very fast paced structured schedule. Some of the meals are paid for up front, but we were not told that most of the meals are at Chinese Buffets. There were not alot of other places to eat around these Buffets.
Overall the trip was enjoyable.
This was my first tour. I took along the entire family and a friend and I definitely do not regret it. We saw so many different sights which on your own you don't get enough time for. Plus with the group discounts for the all the admissions the prices were perfect. You get to choose what you want to see, so it's absolutely no pressure. The tour guides are also great. Very friendly and knowledgeable! I would recommend this to anyone, couples, friends and families too.
This 3 day tour was an amazing experience. We covered a lot of places, and the hotels were very nice. Our tour guide Patrick was also good, all people in the bus made it on time. Only thing I wished is that we could have gone to Maid of the Mist on US side, maybe next time. Highly recommend it.
We took the Trip 4th July weekend. It was fantastic. We had a very good, friendly, and safe driver (Samir). Our tour guides Vivian and Tammy were very entertaining and organised. The rest stops were well timed and frequent. The hotels were very nice and clean. It would have been nice though if we were give some time in China town to do some shopping but we got there late and the stores were already closed. Will definitely be doing another trip before the summer is over. LOVED IT.
I would recommend this tour for anyone. I was travelling alone but I was lucky to meet very nice ppl on the trip and I felt totally safe being in such family-like group. Good program and our driver and tourguide kept us entertained throughout the trip :) Thank you!
I had a great time on this tour. The tour guide and the driver are accommodating and friendly. The trip is comfortable with frequent stops and breaks. The trip schedule was followed. Highly recommended
Trip was amazing. We saw many interesting places. Our tour guide Wendy was excellent, nice, well-organized, very informative and entertaining. Our driver was great and safe. Bus ride was not tiring, a lot of stops. All additional admission fees rounded up to $187 but we could choose what we want to see. We had a great time. Highly recommended!
For the money we spent it's definitely worth it! We covered so many attractions and had good meals. But on first night, we just walked to Niagara falls to see the night view by ourselves.... It was nice but I felt not that good to walk there from the hotel and com back. I already read all reviews so I knew that we needed cash, and paid 194 dollars! For the money, we can't complain! But the only thing that I had was the tour guide! We have several group of English speaker but most of them couldn't understand what she was trying to say! We just listened very carefully to what time we should come back... At first we didn't even know what her name is! I don't wanna judge her but I suggest to the company that it's better to divide into two groups, Chinese and the English speakers, since there were so many English speakers there! SPECIAL THANKS TO BUS DRIVER!!
He was an old man, Wrick I think, and extremely kind and gentle!!! I really appreciate it!
This was a great tour due to the value and all of the sightseeing. Our tour guide Faith had a structured plan and was also available for any questions or concerns. We were able to enjoy all of the sights at a very affordable price. I only spent $160 on sights entrance and food. Souvenirs was apart but keep in mind that you will find very cheap ones when you visit chinatown DO NOT BUY THEM ANYWHERE ELSE, keychains, mugs, and shot glasses were 1 dollar. This was a wonderful trip that I would recommend to anyone.
We joined the 3 day tour on Oct 29. Our tour guide, Sandy Cai, was great and real organized. We also had a very safe driver. The tour was worth the money and enjoyable. Even though we had to prepare to pay more cash for two nice meals and admissions, it was still affordable. The hotels we stayed in were clean and comfortable. Everybody in the group were friendly and most were on time. We look forward to taking tour again in summer since we didn't get to ride the Maid of The Mist.
The tour guides name was Sandy. It was a very well organized and enjoyable trip. Bus driver was a pretty safe driver. Must respect him for the long hours driving. The hotel we stayed in was very very decent and comfortable but I heard it is not always the case. However, do be prepared to pay a lot extra (we paid $155 more) for the tickets + meal plan. Although it is optional, most of the time they will persuade you to just take up the whole package. Otherwise, this family trip of mine was truly enjoyable.
The tour was nice, just keep in mind that the price you pay is only for the transportation and the hotel and not including any fees for the attractions and any food. The fees for the attractions and the food (one breakfast, one lunch and one dinner) was $177 worth. That's $177 that you have to pay when starting the tour, so make sure that you bring enough money with you. But you have a choice of any attractions and meal you want to pay for, but almost all the places that you visit require you to pay fees. If you don't pay the fees, you just have to do everything yourself without the group.
trip was efficiently organised, although our 3 day trip was joined with 4 day trip which meant that we covered more than we expected! It was worth doing but we found "Wake up call 4.30 ,Back on bus 5. 30" just a little bit early !!!We also found that on day one we did not know when to squeeze in eating. A bit more information on time scale would have been helpful. All in a good trip and excellent value for money!!
We celebrated our 2nd year wedding anniversary on this tour. We enjoyed every moment of this trip. Our tour guide Wendy, 'everybody clear', is very friendly, always on time and very entertaining. Hotels, where we stayed, were all good. We take a tour again with you someday.
I recently completed the 3-Day Niagara Falls, Toronto & Thousand Island tour from 09/03 -05/10. Angie was our tour guide/Fred our bus driver.
Tour was excellent! Angie, our Tour Guide, did a splendid job keep us on track. At almost every stop she had to go and look for or call the late-comers. She was stern when she needed to be, but otherwise she was very pleasant and accommodating. We were able to see all the sights as planned! Hotels were clean and comfortable. Definitely worth the money.
Unfortunately a few adults on the tour were not forthcoming with the service fee/tip and gave her a hard time. She stood her ground - have to commend her for that. These individuals are difficult people and were late in getting back to the bus most of the time.
Was a fantastic trip. This was my 4th GotoBus tour and it won't be my last!
My wife and I went on the Nigara Falls/Canada bus tour from NYC and we had a blast. The tourguide(Angie) was so efficient and effective. She was like a great shepherd attending to every sheep in the flock but was more attentive to her missing straying sheep. The driver (Fred) was calm, collective and safe; he was always on location at the specified times. The trip was worth every penny and more but I hope it remains at the same because next year my wife and I will be back on board. I've started rounding up friends to come along. My photographs of my journey is all over my facebook wall. My friends love my pics. They saw that I had a wonderful time.
I brought my mother and younger brother on this trip for a short getaway. The tour guide Cici and the driver Jerry were wonderful. Everything was well organized, and the hotels we stayed at were comfortable. If you want to see many places and stay busy, this is the tour to pick.
CiCi was amazing.. She has so much patience to gather all 55 people and make them see every single attraction on the 3 day trip... She is kind, funny and very knowledgable.. If her manager is seeing this posting, i would request him to give her an incentive or promotion.. She is great!!!!!
We went on a tour last year and we were very pleased, so we decided to take another tour this year, we went to Canada. The trip was great, always on time, our tour guide Wendy was very nice, the driver Jose was excellent, he entertained our group in several occasions. Only thing I would strongly suggest to look into is a way to control the horrible and unpleasant smell from the toilet. My family and I, unfortunately, were sitting towards the back of the bus, and we suffered so much, that the only thing we were waiting for most of the time was for the bus to stop so that we can run out of the bus. Maybe emptying the disposal would help. We were warned not to use the toilet, but with small children in the bus, I guess there is no control. Also, it would help if we were notified of the extra charges while on board, I took $400 cash for expenses, but then, I had to pay $360 to cover entrance tickets. That should be posted at the beginning on the website, so that we can carry enough cash. Overall, the trip was interesting and enjoyable.
This was a beautiful experience... this tour company is the best choice for family travel... the tour guide was very professional and she made the trip very nice... I will use this company for my future trips.
This tour is awesome! The highlight was really the Maid of the Mist Boat Ride. You really get upclose to the falls and it is an experience of a lifetime. Covered a lot of ground. This tour is worth every penny.
A nice tour that offers great value! Wish we had more time at the Corning Museum. We saw a lot over a short time period. Both the tour guide "Sandy" and the driver work very hard. With the exception of a few minor problems, the trip went very well.
I took my wife and two sons on this trip. We enjoyed the trip very much. It was amazing to see Niagara falls, cruise in the thousand islands, and watch movie in the IMAX theater. Dinning was excellent in the Skylon Tower restaurant and the food was very tasty. The tour guide Sandy and bus driver Andrew were great. I am planning to take more trips with GotoBus in other parts of the US.
Very nice...I only hope we have more time at each place. I think they shouldn't try to cover so much in so little time. But, the tour leader, Mei, was very nice and worked hard to make everything right.
My family and I had a great time. Sandy, our tour guide was great, patient, and sincere in attempting to satisfy all of us. We had elderly patrons whom I feel Sandy and the driver, Lee were attentive and kind.
The tour was well organized and I like the fact that rest stops were evenly paced throughout the entire trip. The bus driver, Andrew, and our tour guide, Wendy, were very accomodating and friendly and made sure that schedules were closely adhered to.
Trip was fantastic!. My 8 yr old son and I loved Jack, Andrew, Sandy, Leo and JoAnn (guides on our Niagra tour)and made the trip amazing and carefree. The rest stops were timed well and frequently for breaks to stretch and not get exhausted. Loved it!!! Thanks team.
We had a great time. You have an excellent driver Jason and tourguide Esther. They were jovial, friendly and kept us on time so we could see all the places. In all the trip was worth it. We are definitely trying again. Thank You!!!
I had fun on this trip with my girlfriend. I went to the bus they brought me on boat. I saw niagara falls and ate at skylon tower. I have the best tour guide Esther. It only took three days and we saw so much. Just don't bring back the fruit. Such as mango strawberry banana. Jason the bus driver was a workhorse, he made sure we got to all the places and home by eight forty-five.
