Read what other travelers think about this tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
This was my first tour with Taketours and I was satisfied with my expectations.
Good things:
1) Tour covers a lot of destination as mentioned in the iterinary trip on website.
2) Bus was AC and Hotels were really nice.
3) Bus stops at downtown areas and gives around <1 hour for walking tour. Best part is we dont need to worry for parking, driving.
4) Guide gives restroom break at every 2 to 3 hours.
5) Good Communication about every day plan.
Note, in this tour,
1) Tour starts mostly 7 AM every day and comes to hotel at evening after 8.30 or 9 PM so not much time to rest in the hotel.
2) Tour covers attraction which has full price ticket but it gives only about 1.5 to 2 Hour max to see which may not be enough for everyone for every attraction
3) Make sure to see customer review of all attraction before you go on this tour so you dont get disappointed. (All are optional)
Overall i was satisfied
This is my second trip with Gotobus and I find their tour value for money. On this trip, our tour leader is Carlton. We find him very knowledgeable. Though alot of time is spend travelling on the road, Carlton would constantly feed us with info on the historical background of all the places we would visit. Overall we thoroughly enjoy the trip, especially Washington DC and Niagara Falls. The hind side to the tour is that part of the trip in Canada takes up alot of travelling. Imagine travelling for 4 hours to a destination and spend 2 hours sightseeing and then travel another 4 hours to the next hotel. It is quite tiring. It will be good if more time can be allocated for sight seeing. Perhaps make it a 12 or 14 day trip would be ideal.
This is our first tour to the East Coast. Charlene is our USA tour guide and Andy was Canada tour guide. They were both very informative and helpful whatever we asked. With a 9 day trip to US and Canada, this is very long trip and they did their best to accommodate a whole group of tourists. They were very patient and caring to each family. Also the drivers drove so smoothly and safely. They were so helpful with us. The trip was well worth it. Just sit tight, relax and enjoy the scenery. Take lots of pictures. Nine day trip went so quickly. We made friends on the way. Everyone was so happy to see breathtaking views, so green scenery, wonderful museums, exciting cruises, and had delicious lunch together with other tourist families. After all this is a vacation why make it difficult for everyone. The last day of the trip was so sad. We waved goodbye to the friends. We took the trip in July so it was so warm and humid so prepare to bring lots of water bottles, a good pair of shoes, comfortable clothes, sun glasses and hat. One of the most expenses that we spent was buying water. To my family, we didn't have enough time at Quebec City. The city is so beautiful. It has a lot of charming houses, arts stores, cobble stones and historic towns and we had to hurry back to the group luncheon so we missed a lot of places and didn't enough time to buy the postcard from Quebec. It's one of the hobbies I do is collect postcards from all the places that I visit. I feel really bad because I don't know when I will come back. Besides that, other places were short of time too, but it's ok since we didn't really miss much. Notice: Make sure you have enough cash to pay for the admission fees and service fees. All the activities are optional so if you don't want to join, you can walk around the city, but you will miss a lot of things.
The first day was so bothersome. Most of the tourists didn't know which bus/seats to go to so the tourists were all over and asked the guides. There was no line so everyone was kind of pushes his/her way to find out the answer. That was awful. Maybe, there should be a sign "Line Here". Another thing that we like is every day we were all rotated the seating chart so everyone has a chance to sit in the front. No one complained.
