Itinerary

Bear Mountain State Park

Buses depart from New York City daily and bring you to the Inn at Bear Mountain State Park.

Bear Mountain State Park is situated in rugged mountains rising from the west bank of the Hudson River. The park features a large play field, shaded picnic groves, a dock on the Hudson for mooring small craft, lake and river fishing access, a swimming pool, a zoo and nature settings, hiking, biking and cross-county ski trails and ski-jumps. An outdoor rink is open to ice skaters from late October through mid-March. The Perkins Memorial Tower atop Bear Mountain affords spectacular views of the park, the Hudson Highlands and Harriman State Park.

Hiking Adventures to Bear Mountain & Harriman State Park

Utilize the scheduled day trip to Bear Mountain Inn & State Park. Stroll by brooks, hike across rolling hills, or climb to the top of spectacular views from rocky ridges throughout Harriman and the Bear Mountain Parklands.

Return times and locations:

3:19pm from Bear Mountain Inn. An additional return bus is offered on Weekends and Holidays departing at 5:19pm and arriving back to the Port Authority at 7:00pm.

Redemption

You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email (e-ticket). When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print e-tickets to present when you arrive at your departure point. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

I took the yesterday ..on my birthday .. it was a nice one ... cheap and not far away from NYC .. the views r really scenic ... and really love it .. I already upload n share some of my photos here .. I went there at 8:45 and come back at 3 pm ... I just wanna say it's kinda tight schedule ... I need to go rush :( .. apart from that.. the trip is perfect ...

This was not really a tour, just bus service directly to bear mountain. this site only has the 8:45 and 11:15AM schedule but it actually goes there every hour. its a good place to spend if you like hiking or fishing.

My husband and I went to Bear Mountain for a day to escape the chaos of the city, and it was beautiful. The bus dropped us off there around 10:45 AM, picked us up around 3:30 PM, we took the nature walk, went to the pool, $2 each, and had some food, and took a boat out on the Hessian lake!!! It was very nice, and not costly!!! Beautiful views, and just very quiet and relaxing :) I wish we had more time before heading back, but there isn't too much flexibility with the timing. On weekends, buses head back to NY around 5:00, but weekends are also more crowded. I went on a thursday and enjoyed the peace :)

I went to Bear mountain on July 5th. I loved it.. I think there is so much to do... There is skating, football fields, basketball fields, row boats for the lake (very cheap), the nature walk and zoo, the foot pool (my favorite) and of course great for bbqing and picnicking. Activities for the kids and some local craft shopping. I overnighted at the lodge and loved it. there are also individual cabins for more privacy.

Not a tour, simply a bus drops you off. Not nothing to do there if it is cold other than the small zoo which is pretty good. Catching the 11am bus would give enough time to see the view - nothing to special there unless you want to go fishing or hiking or unless it is summer.
