From New York City we will head off to the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site, the 50-room Classical-style mansion built in 1898 by Frederick William Vanderbilt, a grandson of “Commodore” Cornelius Vanderbilt, the shipping and railroad magnate and richest man in America during his lifetime. Here you can tour the Vanderbilt Mansion, see its stunning collection of Flemish tapestries, Ming vases, Renaissance chairs, 16th Century Florentine chests and antique painted Venetian ceilings, as well as stroll the stunning grounds overlooking the Hudson River. Then you will meet a taxi at the flagpole by the visitor's center which will take you to enjoy lunch at the Hyde Park Brewing Company, a craft brewery and restaurant located across the street from the Frankin Delano Roosevelt National Historic Site.

Following lunch, you can visit the FDR home, known fondly as “Springwood” to the 32nd President of the United States. Now a Presidential Library and Museum, the house, grounds and exhibits will give you an inside look at Roosevelt’s life and times. Your bus will pick you up at the ticket booth at the Roosevelt home and return you to the Port Authority in the evening.
