Tour was good and started in time. Only problem was the guide who could not speak English well enough to be a guide for people who are not Chinese. He could not even pronounce Brooklyn bridge properly. They should have English speaking guide in USA.
We only had one day in NYC and wanted to see many famous sightseeing spots. After search online, TakeTours was the only city tour agency providing such a service that meets our requirements. We strongly recommend TakeTours because of many reasons. First of all, the staff, especially the tour guider is very friendly, responsible and experienced. The program (sightseeing spots, schedules, flexibilities, and prices) is adequate. The information posted on the website is clear and accurate. Additionally, the bus is comfortable and clean. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the tour. Thank you TakeTours!
Not so great, they force to buy visiting ticket for at least two attraction. I has left the bus after 2 attraction.
I wanted to let you know about the policy mention on the tour page under the price exclusion:
Two (2) Mandatory Admissions per person* Guests must purchase at least two attraction tickets to qualify for bus transportation (see above table for attractions and prices). Those who do not purchase at least two tickets will have to arrange their own transportation throughout the tour. There will be no refunds.
We apologize for any misunderstanding.
It was a wonderful tour for my husband and I, for our first time in New York City. Tour for 1 day and Niagara tour for 2 days, and 3 nights we were accommodated well, and our tourist guide, Mr. Boris kept an eye on the details. Our hotel in Niagara was the Comfort Suites. It was bi, and we had a microwave, fridge, hot water, boiler, was clean and odor free. We are thankful our driver was an expert.. Some of us were late and patiently waiting. Our time was limited I understand because we have a lot of places to go. We enjoyed our tour. I will book again after 6 months. Thank you for the great service. Highly recommended to my relatives and friends
This is a very good, value for money tour. The charge is $18 ($10 + $8 as service fee) per passenger. We started early and finished by 3:30 pm.
You can choose the attractions you want to go to. Cindy, the tour guide, was very professional and punctual.
Among paid attractions, we opted for
1. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum (AMAZING)
2. Statue of Liberty Cruise (AMAZING)
1. Times Square - awesome (it is near Madame Tussauds, you won't get much time, so either hurry up or plan a separate visit)
2. Wall Street - very nice
The tour was good, on time, covered most of the important places. Finished early by 3:30PM itself. Good tour for $10$+$8(convenience fee). In the Liberty Cruise, sit by the right side of the boat to have a better glimpse. The other side was okay too, but you have to keep switching from left to right, and then to left again to take photos. They could give some print outs of the details, as it was little bit difficult to understand what the guide was saying, and felt it can be little bit more elaborated to be on a tour specifically. I felt it like a drop off taxi kind than being more of an informational tour. Overall, a good hassle free tour around New York if you can read stuff yourself from Google!
It was a nice trip on a weekend. We covered New York in 2 days. The first day we walked around New York City - Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street, and Times Square. And the second day we took this tour. It covered all the places mentioned here in itinerary except for Metropolitan Museum of Art. The time given at the Intrepid Museum can be increased, as it is not possible to cover it in an hour on a weekend. Overall, the trip was good. The guide Kevin was calm and good.
I recommend this tour. The tour was fantastic and we learned a lot about New York and its history. Cora Chen was a wonderful tour guide, and we look forward to booking more adventures with TakeTours in the future. Thanks for making this trip awesome with good memories.
I found the tour deal in the website of TakeTours. For your information, the person wearing yellow long shirt. If you missed the bathroom before leaving your hotel, the office offers their restrooms located at the second floor of 87 Bowery Street, but it is always in long line. It is located across the meeting place. My family and I booked for a one day local tour in New York. This is our first time to travel to New York. So, I was having a difficult time to choose what tour should I join. Also, what hotel should I book. So, I have chosen the Mulberry Hotel because it was walking distance to pick up and parking! I never thought Chinatown was this dirty! Since we were only having a one day tour, (I was thinking of the sightseeing bus tour, the hop on hop off bus) because there was a guide, and a bus. Since this was our first time, we arrived very early at the pick-up place. Guess what, an hour early! When we arrived, I was so tensed because the streets were dirty and there were no signs. I called the office and I was guided what to do. After a while the person wearing a yellow blazer arrived! He was not the guide yet. Then he said we could buy something for breakfast and use the restroom in the office. Our pick-up place was 86 Bowery St. The tour was okay but not great! I was disappointed. First, From the lists to visit we only visited 5 places. Second, the tour guide Raven could not be understood clearly. Third, the explanation of the places could not be understood such as not detailed explanation for the location the bus was passing by. Fourth, we wanted to go to Times Square and he didn't tell us that Madame Tussauds is in Times Square. We could have walked to Times Square with our free time. Fifth, I thought that the tour will be finished at 6:00PM but we finished at 3:30PM! On the other hand, he was accommodating. The ordered places we went were Wall Street, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Intrepid, Madame Tussauds. For the price of $10 it is a good deal plus you will have choices for the attractions to see. You have to bring extra cash money because the attraction entrance fee and food are not included. In the Empire State Building, I suggest you go straight to the observation deck. You don't have time to read all those information along the way to the deck. For the Cruise to Liberty, I suggest you go upstairs or outside to have a better view. At first, we have chosen to seat inside because we thought that it was hot. When I tried to stay out, I couldn't feel the heat of the sun. For the Intrepid, no lounge as what the tour guide told us before going to Intrepid. He said there was a lounge where we could buy and eat our lunch. Unfortunately there was no lounge! Instead, there were 2 carts of go on the wheels outside the Intrepid! How cheap that you have to make a long line to wait for your turn under the heat of the sun! We don't have time because we were only given an hour to explore the whole place with the lunch already! We didn't see all but just one floor only. I think there are more than 3 floors. We walked fast and take pictures (not reading because you will not have enough time). For Madame Tussauds, looks like an old wax museum. The Hollywood wax museum at Tennessee is better than the Madame Tussauds in NY. I was not feeling it that I took only three pictures for myself! I was really disappointed about NY and I have no plans of returning. For the one day tour, I would recommend because it is cheap nothing more!
Well organized and very reasonably priced. We also did not have to wait in queues at multiple attractions, as we used the group entry queues which were empty! Times Square was not covered properly, hence we did that on our own after the tour was over.
Awesome - as expected from my previous trip with TakeTours. However, only one suggestion- if the guide also travels with us inside the attractions, it would have been helpful and informative for prioritizing. However, the guide explained about each attractions while we were in the bus and organized things very well. Overall they gave us the best experience in less time and less money.
The tour was fantastic and we learned a lot about New York and its history. Cora Chen was a wonderful tour guide, and we look forward to booking more adventures with TakeTours in the future. Thanks for making this trip awesome with good memories.
Very nice tour to go to if you have limited time in New York City, and aren't so familiar with this city. Price is only included transportation so you need to buy ticket from the tour leader in order to enter each attraction. Our tour leader, Leon Lee, was a knowledgeable guy with pair of sun glasses on all day long. He was funny and friendly, wish we can take tours with him again. This tour I give 85 out of 100.
This tour is a nice tour. The attractions we went to was very nice. You don't need to worry about how to get there. Just get on the bus and the tour leader will bring you there. Our tour leader Leon Li was a nice guy. Very funny and liked to make jokes. We are thankful for his work.
It started with CRAZINESS,
and ended as FANTASTIC !!!
As I had an infant (my son who is 6 months old) along with our journey, it was a kind of hectic, but the tour guide was always willing to allocate a grace time of maximum 5 minutes and not more than that, initially I got irritated as any other passenger/parent would be, but I realized later that in one day's time if you are planning to cover, so many things then we MUST follow what the tour guide is telling, as he is best judge with all the experience he has on his hands.
On the whole it was hectic but it's worth to be hectic because at the end of the tour, you will definitely be thrilled with the experience you had on that day, while heading to home you will cherish those as great memories.
GO FOR IT IT'S FANTASTIC!!!
I booked this tour for my mother's birthday. Our tour guide, Mars, and our competent driver made it an enjoyable experience. I give a special "thank you" to another guide who went above and beyond. I hope to book with them again.
GREAT TOUR because you just pay $1+ tickets for 2 places! GREAT TOUR GUIDE! Luke WAS A GREAT GUIDE! The best option to take if you want a hassle free and quick round of New York attractions. I got this for my parents who are new in New York, and they were very happy with it. Well organized and better than the hop on/hop off for them, as there was no need to wait for buses and finding stops... Much better than driving or walking around New York for a day tour
GREAT TOUR! GREAT TOUR GUIDE! STONE WAS A GREAT GUIDE! The best option to take if you want a hassle free and quick round of New York attractions. New York is a very beautiful place. We saw a lot of exciting places, especially the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. The tour guide (Mo) is a responsible person. If I have a chance I will go on a tour again with TakeTours.com
This New York 1 day tour was pretty good, covering a lot of the must-see attractions. A very cost effective and convenient alternative to the taxis or the subway, as entry tickets are organized in advance so you skip the queues. Special mention of our tour guide who was very professional and friendly. She gave us detailed commentary of all the spots. I would recommend this trip.
Manhattan is huge - so this tour was a very efficient and convenient alternative to taxis or the subway. We covered a lot of the must-see attractions and entry tickets are organized in advance so you skip the queues. Our guide Aaron was fantastic and even gave us great detailed commentary inside the Met and interesting US history throughout the tour. I highly recommend this tour.
Trip is well planned. Very nice and efficient way to see New York City. All major attractions are covered and they provide attraction tickets well in advance too so you don't have to waste your time waiting in the queues. I will take this tour again when I come back to New York!!
It was a worthwhile $10.00.
I mean to be honest, there is no way you can get as cheap as $10 to travel around all these places in just one day by yourself! Plus, it would cost you way more than @10 just to travel to one place in New York, traffic itself is horrible.
Additionally, you do not have to queue up to get tickets, as queues are quite long in New York.
Worth the money!
This is the second time I have taken this 1-day trip. Trip is well planned and if you don't want to drive in busy streets of New York, this trip is good. All the attraction tickets are provided well in advance so you don't have to wait in queue. We missed the Empire State Building in this trip. I would recommend this trip.
This tour was amazing. They covers all the attractions of New York in a very efficient manner. Tour guide was highly professional and they gave enough time to see each attraction.
I highly recommend this tour...
Extremely great value for money. I would recommend folks to take Empire State and Cruise. For other tours, the one hour time is less. I am overall extremely please since it covers the main points without getting too tired and it was relaxing too. The tour guide on this particular 12 seater van was fantastic and his english was really good.
Covered all major tourist spots except:
- Ground zero ( we just drove by it )
- Statue of liberty was shown only from cruise, no getting down on island
- Did not show Times square night view, and only 1hr15mins were given to cover both madam tussads and times square which was a bit too less for both.
They could have gone to ground zero which is an important site. The rockefeller center elevator lines were too long so inspite of leaving in time we were stuck there. We even called the guide cindy and told her we were stuck. We finally got to the ground floor but the numerous exits were so confusing. We were 10 minutes late because of this and the guide left us stranded with our bags still in the bus.
But overall it was value for money.
Tour was great, covering most of the points but it was very less time to cover so many attraction. Worst part, towards the tail end of my tour, my tour guide left me in between because I was late by 20 mins. He was expecting us to complete 6 floors of Madam Tussad museum in just 50 mins. Might be its my fault as I was late but leaving in between, is not something I will appreciate.
I had taken a trip with you to WashingtonDC and Niagra with a fantastic young guide who introduced himself as KITKAT (Kit chow). He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and unlike what I had heard elsewhere, had a fantastic command of English without any undecipherable accent. I really enjoyed the trip with him. God bless you KITKAT!!
I just came back from a tour of 3 days two nights niagara falls and Washington DC tour from the E-World travel&tours, i really had a wonderful time during the trip, the tour guide is very nice and the bus driver is very professional! I will surely join a tour from E-world again!
This is a tour that to experience the big apple city in one day.. We visited most of the major attractions and had lunch in Times Square.. Everything in New York is beautiful.. The tour guide Ying from EWorld is funny.. Will continue the join taketours..!
This was a tour to show my wife and her parents the Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Baltimore areas; as they are from China the tour guide being able to speak Mandarin was a great asset. I would recommend this tour to others.
Good quick overview of the Big Apple. Tour guide was friendly and responsible. My only disappointment was that we could have visited other attractions when one of the scheduled stops has been interrupted by the traffic. Instead the tour ended earlier than scheduled. Will still recommend to friends.
The New York 1-Day City Tour Code: 855-68 is a comprehensive tour which allows you to visit the greatest New York tourist attractions for a reasonable price.
The tour bus is comfortable and the tour guide was very friendly
We do recommend this tour to other New York City visitors.
The tour is good, if you have limited time to visit main places. Tour guide Jin was good. I heard that metropolitan museum entry fee can be skipped, if you give some donation (5$) there and no need to take it through tour package. Although we couldn't do so. You can try.......
Better is you go separately to Liberty +Allis Island using statue cruises. It will be cheaper than the tour cruise and you will be visiting both islands.....
The price you pay is only for the ground transportation. There are entry fee for almost every tourist point for which you have to pay as well as service charge to be paid at the end of the tour. In all $10 for ground transportation in New York is still worth.
Great tour for the price. It's an excellent way to get your bearings in NY. Our tour didn't stop at the Museum - which was one of the main things I wanted to see - but that was fine, I went there on my own which allowed more time than the tour would have. Tour left from starting point at 7.20am and finished at 4.30pm. The guide and driver were both great - you can't go wrong at this price.
It was okay. We were late, but the bus driver managed to pick us on the street. We didn't see that many spots as listed in the description page. But it's understandable for a tour so cheap. Basically you need to pay more to see more, if no one want to see a spot with charge, the bus wouldn't go there. The tour ends around 4:30PM.
We had a good experience with the GotoBus NY tour. The tour guide was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed the tour very much. We visited many places in one day. Thanks to GotoBus for such cheap and best services.
Tour guide Angel is really professional and is the best! Very kind and friendly. The schedule is a little hectic but expected since it is just a one day tour. I recommend to bring your lunch/snacks. The only lunch option we have is on the cruise, which is expensive and really bad. Else, everything is just perfect, and I already recommend this tour to friends.
First of all the web site is very user friendly. To me, the tour was worthwhile. I took my family and friends on a one day tour. The guide was extremely polite and friendly. He gave us a choice to skip the attractions that we felt as not very important. I would recommend it to anybody visiting NYC ...
We were a bit dubious at first but thoroughly enjoyed the trip around NYC and the sights. The driver was excellent too. There is plenty of time to see the different sites and relax in between in the van. Well worth it.
I was little late for the trip, but got into another Mini van with few more passengers. Lot of time saved with this trip. Enjoyed. I was thinking they would take us to Liberty Statue as well but just the all sizing cruise only.
