    Tuesday: Prague - Bratislava (330 km)

    In the afternoon, we drive to the capital of Bratislava, Slovakia. Here we’ll visit St. Martin’s Cathedral, among the biggest, most elaborate, and oldest churches in all of Slovakia. We’ll remain in Bratislava overnight.

    Day 2

    Wednesday: Bratislava - Budapest (200 km)

    After breakfast in Bratislava, we’ll drive to Budapest. This city has been lauded as one of the most beautiful in Europe, and perennially ranks among Eastern Europe’s most livable destinations. Once two separate cities, Budapest is divided by the Danube River into Buda, on the west bank, and Pest on the east. First we’ll explore the western half of the city, seeing the Fisherman’s Bastion* and Matthias Church*, at the heart of the Buda Castle district. Then we’ll cross the Danube over the Elizabeth Bridge, one of the newest to connect the two sides of the city, and stop at Heroes’ Square, where an arc of statues commemorates the many heroes in Hungary’s storied past. We’ll stay overnight in Budapest.

    Day 3

    Thursday: Budapest - Vienna (250 km) (242 km)

    On this day, our destination is Vienna, the capital city of the Republic of Austria. Vienna is a key center for international diplomacy, hosting such vital organizations as the United Nations and OPEC. Once in the city, we’ll visit Empress Maria Theresa's favorite palace at Schonbrunn*, former summer residence of the Hapsburg Imperial family (and considered one of the most beautiful baroque palaces in Europe), Stadtpark and the popular Johann Strauss monument, the Austrian Parliament Building, the world famous Vienna State Opera House, the Soviet War Memorial, and impressive baroque Church of St. Charles Borromeo. A stroll along the Kartnerstrasse with its glamorous boutiques brings us to St. Stephen's Cathedral. (And for music lovers, Vienna is widely considered the classical music capital of the world, so check with your tour guide to arrange a Viennese Waltz concert* of classical music for you.)

    Day 4

    Friday: Vienna - Salzburg - Innsbruck (480 km) (483 km)

    In the morning, we’ll leave Vienna and pass through the Abbey of Melk on the river Danube as we drive to Salzburg. Once there, we’ll proceed on foot as we explore the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart*. Although Salzburg is ranked as Austria’s fourth-largest city, it has held on firmly to its history, considered one of the best preserved city centers north of the Alps. In the mid-1950s, the city contributed its historic scenery to the movie, The Sound of Music. After experiencing Salzburg, we’ll move on to Innsbruck for a night’s rest.

    Day 5

    Saturday: Innsbruck - Mt Titlis - Lucerne - Zurich (300 km) (2290 km)

    From Innsbruck in the morning, we make our way toward Switzerland, stopping at Engelberg to ride the world's first revolving cable car* that takes approximately 45 minutes to bring you to the top of Switzerland’s highest vantage point atop Mt. Titlis. The cable car will give you a 360 degree view of the country as you slowly crawl through the sky. After lunch on the mountain, we’ll descend to the city of Lucerne to view the medieval scenery and architecture, walk across the wooden Kapell Bridge, and alongside the lovely Lake Lucerne. We’ll see the Lion Monument carved into the rock above the water, and then we’ll enjoy some free time to shop for Swiss watches and other specialties, before proceeding back to Lucerne for the evening.

    Day 6

    Sunday: Zurich - Rhein Falls - Titisee - Frankfurt (450 km) (2677 km)

    After breakfast, we’ll begin with a survey tour of Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city, and drive on to visit the Rhine Falls, the largest single waterfall in Europe, which measures 150 meters across at its widest point. We’ll then continue with our tour, winding through a portion of the fairytale Black Forest, so called for the sheer number of conifer trees that densely fill the forest soil, blocking out much of the light from within. We’ll emerge at Titisee, a small town at the edge of Lake Titisee, where the cuckoo clock was first invented. While there, we’ll eat lunch, which will include a dessert course of the famous Black Forest cake. We’ll then return to Frankfurt, Germany, where we should arrive in the evening.

    Day 7

    Monday: Frankfurt - Bonn - Cologne - Amsterdam (500 km) (456 km)

    From Frankfurt, we set out for Bonn, the capital of West Germany from 1949-1990. After reunification of East and West Germany, when the seat of government moved to Berlin, Bonn became a federal city of prominence and history, which we’ll see as we tour through its streets. We’ll see the Old Town Hall on the edge of the city marketplace square, and then visit Beethoven Haus, the birthplace of composer, Ludwig Van Beethoven, now a musical museum dedicated to his legendary contributions to the world of music. Afterwards, the bus will take us to Cologne to see the Cologne Cathedral and its world-famous twin-spires that attract more than 20,000 admirers a day. After lunch and some free time to browse a Cologne shopping area, we’ll finish our day’s travel at Amsterdam, where we’ll spend the night.

    Day 8

    Tuesday: Amsterdam - The Hague - Amsterdam (65 km)

    Today we will enjoy our morning sightseeing tour to The Hague, where we’ll see the Peace Palace, built between the years 1907 and 1913, where the International Court of Justice is now located. The bus will then take us to the popular Dutch seaside resort, Scheveningen, followed by a countryside excursion to the village of Zaanse Schans, where we’ll visit a wooden shoe factory, a cheese farm, and stop for photos at the windmills that have become visual symbols of Netherlands scenery.** Afterwards, the bus will return us to the Amsterdam city center, where we will tour a famous diamond factory, learning the subtleties of diamond cutting technique that has been practiced since the 16th Century. Later, we’ll have some leisure time in the city to walk or spend on a Canal cruise* before heading to dinner.

    Day 9

    Wednesday: Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris (500 km) (520 km)

    Today’s tour begins with a drive from Amsterdam to Brussels, the Belgian capital. Before we arrive, we’ll stop for a photo at the Atomium, a monument commemorating the first World’s Fair after World War II, which took place in Brussels in 1958. When we arrive at the city, we’ll drive to the center to enjoy the view of the beautiful Grand’ Place, the central square of Brussels, and the famous statuette, the Manneken Pis, nearby. Leaving Brussels, we’ll drive to the splendid city of Paris, France. (For interested travelers, our tour guide can arrange an optional Paris by Night Tour* with a visit to Tour Montparnasse*.)

    Day 10

    Thursday: Paris - Versailles - Paris (22 km)

    Today, we’ll enjoy the many famous sights of historic Paris. Our bus will take us along the Champs-Elysees, down the prominent avenue to its western end where the Arc de Triomphe sits, honoring those that died during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. At the eastern end, we’ll visit the Place de la Concorde, the large square made famous both by “Cleopatra’s Needle”—an ancient Egyptian obelisk--and as the site where martyrs of the French aristocracy were guillotined at the peak of the Revolution. Then the bus will drive to the Hotel des Invalides, where the tomb of Napoleon is located, before heading to the Eiffel Tower*, where our tour will feature an ascent to its top to view the city. A scenic cruise* along the river Seine will show us many of the city’s most famous sights from the water, including Notre Dame Cathedral and Pont Alexandre III. The rest of the day will be dedicated to exploring the magnificent Palace of Versailles*; once home and refuge to the royal family of Louis XIV, it is now a must-see excursion just outside of Paris. We’ll return to the city area for the night.

    Day 11

    Friday: Paris

    This morning is dedicated the wonders on display at the world’s most famous art museum, the Musee du Louvre*. Here, we will behold some historic masterpieces of past artists, including the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, (also called Nike of Samothrace), and of course that iconic work by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa. After browsing through as many of the Louvre’s 400,000 works of art as we can in a few hours, we’ll transfer to Place d’Italie for lunch. In the afternoon, our tour guide will take us for a ride on the Paris underground metro for a better understanding of how the city runs, and then we’ll have free time to spend in the city center around the Opera House before returning to our hotel for the evening.

    Day 12

    Saturday: Paris - Reims - Luxembourg (420 km) (377 km)

    Today we’ll pass by vineyards and lovely French vistas on our way to Reims, the capital of Champagne, an old province of France made word famous by its sparkling wine. The city of Reims has played an important role in French history--as the ceremonial home to the coronation of all the kings of France, it was a symbolic center of power from 11th Century until the 19th Century, when Charles X was crowned. Here, we’ll visit the Reims Cathedral, site of the coronations and an architectural wonder in its own right. Later, we’ll drive ahead to Luxembourg, the only remaining Grand Duchy in the modern world. After arriving, we’ll enjoy the view of the Place de Constitution, the canyon in the city and Pont Adophe. We’ll stay for the night in Luxembourg or a nearby city.

    Day 13

    Sunday: Luxembourg - Trier - Koblenz - Frankfurt (400 km) (301 km)

    Our first visit of the day is to Trier, Germany's oldest city, sometimes nicknamed “the Second Rome” due to its association with Constantine the Great, who served as administrator there for 10 years. We’ll stop to view Porta Nigra, the best-preserved Roman city gate north of Alps, and then visit the Karl Marx Haus, the birthplace—and now museum--dedicated to influential philosopher and socialist thinker Karl Marx. Afterwards, we will drive to Koblenz, the city where the two rivers, the Rhine and the Mosel meet. We will have lunch in this famous scenic place, and have the option to take a cruise along the Rhine*. After lunch, the bus will take us to Frankfurt with a stop in Rudesheim. After we arrive in Frankfurt, we’ll enjoy a tour of the scenic square, Romerplatz. Overnight in Frankfurt.

    Monday: Frankfurt - Prague (530 km) (514 km)

    From Frankfurt, we set out in the morning for Prague, the lovely capital city of the Czech Republic. The thousand-year history of the city is deeply colored by past conflict, from the days of the Holy Roman Empire, through both World Wars, the Velvet Revolution and the end of Communist rule in 1989. In this prominent city, we’ll end our tour.

      Redemption

    You will receive a confirmation voucher in 2-3 business days after you receive the e-ticket. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination and depature details, is included in your confirmation voucher. When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print the confirmation voucher to present when you arrive at your destination. It is your proof of purchase.

    Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

    Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Us.

    Cancellation penalties per person as follows:

    • Up to 31 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    • 15-30 days prior to departure - 30% of total purchase amount.
    • 7-14 days prior to departure - 60% of total purchase amount.
    • Less than 7 days of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • Dates are based on the local time in Europe.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

    Currency Fluctuations:
    All tour prices are current at the time of publication and are susceptible to currency fluctuations. We reserve the right to alter the tour price in accordance with changes in foreign exchanges rates and changes in prices for services. The rate that you pay when you reserve your tour will protect you against future currency fluctuations; on the other hand, no price adjust (refund) will be made based upon change in tour prices.

    Remarks

    1. The Company is not liable for any delay or expense.
    2. The Company will accept no responsibilities for losses or additional expense due to accident, delay, weather, strike or cause beyond its control.
    3. Passengers must have a valid passport. Your passport must remain valid for at least 6 months from the arrival date. The Company will not be held responsible for any expenses if passenger is refused entry by any country.
    4. The Company is not liable if passenger decide to withdraw during the tour.
    5. The Company reserves the right to alter or curtail the itinerary substitute hotels and/or conveyances as it is deemed necessary.
    6. The Company do not accept liability for acts of violence for any single sharing a room with others.
    7. Non-refundable for any unused portion of the tour and any meals listed in itinerary after departure whatever the reason is that you cannot continue with the tour.
    8. The Company also reserves the right to require any individual to withdraw from the tour if deemed his/her act of conduct is detrimental to or incompatible with the interest, harmony & welfare of other passengers and the tour as a whole. The Company shall be under no further liability thereafter to any such person.
    9. The Company is not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.

    Responsibility
    The Company acts only as an agent and/or intermediary for independent suppliers. As a result it retains other contractors to provide transportation, accommodation and other related travel services. The Company accepts no responsibility for any such losses or any additional expenses or and distress due to delays, sickness, weather, strikes or any other causes.

    1. Passengers shall be regarded as carrying his/her own risk with respect to loss or injury to person or property. The Company is not liable for any loss, injury, accident, damage, delay or expense which may arise during the tour.
    2. Passenger accepts full responsibility for losses and expenses due to delay, sickness, weather, strikes, wars, quarantine and changes in itinerary.
    3. The Company will not held responsible if passenger carries any unlawful items or irregularities, any losses and expenses are the responsibility of the passenger.
    4. The Company, tour guide and driver do not accept liability for lost or stolen personal property during the tour.

    Insurance
    Purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended. We will be pleased to assist in enquiries of any travel insurance.
