We will travel to a bed of semi-precious stones, the Wanda mines located at 50km from Puerto Iguassu. Hundred of years ago in this region, the lava rose through fissures in the earth. This lava full of many materials rose with such pressure that it bubbled. The quick cooling of the lava created crystals, all of them in pyramidal hexagonal shapes made of amethyst quartz and agates which are used in jewelry.
We will continue our tour with the visit of San Ignacio Jesuit Mission, located at 200km from the Wanda mines. San Ignacio Miní was one of the most prosperous Jesuit missions, now partly restored by the Argentine Government. San Ignacio Mini was founded in 1610 in the Guaira area (currently the state bordering between Parana and São Paulo, Brazil). Fathers José Cataldino and Simón Masseta built this mission and the mission of Loreto near the Paranapanema River.
