In the morning, guests will be picked up from their hotels in Punta Cana to begin this tour. Today, we will go on a guided trek through the lush, tropical countryside of the Dominican Republic. We will get the chance to travel across a sugar plantation to witness the traditional way the indigenous ploughed this crop. Here, we will go inside an artisan sugar cane mill to watch an accurate reenactment of a colonial-era trapiche (wheel grinder) being pulled by an ox. We will also be able to go inside a local household to taste a variety of fresh fruits and drink freshly-brewed coffee and hot cocoa. On the top of a picturesque mountain, we will enjoy a succulent Dominican lunch buffet before we go horseback riding. Stopping at Cave Cayacao, we will see a Taino Indian shelter before walking through a replica village. Afterwards, we will return to Punta Cana, where the tour will come to a close. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
