    After guests have been picked up from the specified departure location in Salzburg, we will begin this tour. Over the course of our journey, we will see film locations from the beloved musical "The Sound of Music." We will relive the famous true story of the von Trapp family. As Salzburg's most popular tour for over 35 years, this experience combines the historic sections of the city, the breathtaking Salzkammergut region, as well as famous musical and cultural centers. We will see the home of the real von Trapp family and enjoy insightful information that is sure to make for a truly memorable day. We will see many famous attractions, like the Mirabell Gardens, Hellbrunn Palace, the Palace of Leopoldskron, Nonnberg Abbey, Lake Wolfgang, and the Church of the Mondsee. At the end of the tour, guests will be returned to the specified departure location.       Mirabell Palace

      This historical building in Salzburg is listed as a cultural heritage monument by UNESCO. The palace features beautiful royal gardens. Several scenes from the beloved movie "The Sound of Music" were filmed here.

      Hellbrunn Palace

      This early Baroque villa of palatial size in Salzburg, Austria is located in the city's southern district. Built between 1613 and 1619 for the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, it was named for the clera spring that supplied it water.

      Nonnberg Abbey

      This Benedictine monastery in Salzburg was founded circa 714 B.C.E. by St. Rupert of Salzburg. It is the oldest women's religious house in the German-speaking world. Around the year 1000, the abbey was rebuilt.

      Schloss Leopoldskron

      This rococo palace and national historic monument in one of Salzburg's southern districts is located on the lake of the same name. It has been home to the Salzburg Global Seminar since 1947.

      This resort region in Austria stretches from Salzburg to the the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains. Its name translates to "Estate of the Salt Chamber," named for the organization that ran the salt mines of the Hapsburg Monarchs.

      Wolfgangsee

      This lake in the Austrian countryside lies within the state of Salzburg in the region known as the Salzkammergut resort region. The lake stretches about 10.5 kilometers from northwest to southeast.

      Mondsee lake

      This lake in Upper Austria is part of the Salzkammergut area, in the Austrian alps. Mondsee is one of the country's last privately-owned lake. The Drachenwand (Dragonwall) is an impressive mountain on the lake's southern shore.
