The bus driver Michael -Mike was excellent so was the Tour guide Antony. Made an excellent team so the tour became all he more enjoyable. Covered a lot of spots and were very informative. Would surely recommend to family and friends. Keep it up.
This is an excellent tour and good value. You cover a lot of miles in a short time but it's a fantastic way to see iconic sights. I travelled alone and made good friends on the tour. The driver Michael was wonderful. He was funny, attentive, made sure we saw as much as possible and was a safe and careful driver. Our main guide Antony was excellent. He paid great attention to detail and was so informative all the time. He played special 'wake up' music to prepare people for comfort break stops and was careful to give as much information as he could, even after very long days. I can't praise these two highly enough. Unfortunately we had a different guide for the long journey back - How - who gave no information at all during the long journey back (596 miles from Vegas to San Francisco) and it was clear he wasn't interested. Michael did his best but he was driving and Antony was a sad loss on this last day. I think it would be much better if the same guide stayed with the tour from beginning to end. Nevertheless an unforgettable experience.
Although a very hectic trip, Antony and Michael made it very entertaining. Antony was very good with details. The hotel in Fresno is like 3 stars, no elevators, and no wifi.
The trip back was disappointing with Hao, I hear very good reviews about him but we travelled almost 600 hundred miles with him and hardly heard any facts about anything, the only thing he mentioned was the biggest ranch in California, he was courteous but as far as information we didn't hear anything, I don't know if it was lack of knowledge or that he simply did not feel like talking, he did not even inform people about Gilroy being the Garlic capital. The trip from Gilroy to Oakland is extremely long, I don't know if there is a better connection. Hao told me there were 7 blocks from the drop off to Bart, it was a block and a half away. As I said kudos to Antony and Michael.
The tour was excellent, specially our guide Bruce who took personal care for each of the tourist. The number of locations covered in those 3 days were amazing and would not have been possible if we did the trip by ourself. Keep this up.
Hao was an awesome tour guide! He knew so many interesting facts and was funny! The driver Leo was great too! They seem to love their jobs and my sister and I had a wonderful time. We got to see everything we wanted to see within a short period of time.
Yosemite and Grand Canyon were astounding to view, if only briefly. We would have preferred more time spent at the South Rim rather than at the IMAX. Our bus drivers Alex and Steve were extremely professional and punctual. Our guide Hannah was superb in spoken English and Mandarin. The hotels were comfortable. The choices of food were varied. We saw so much in four days. A really nice holiday.
Great tour. Grand Canyon and Yosemite are magnificent, as is Las Vegas in a different way. One criticism. It is very difficult to take photos from the bus while it is moving because of glare from the windows. Not a huge issue but annoying at times. Would definitely recommend the tour which was vey well organised. Guide was good, driver was good .
This tour was perfect for me as a solo female traveler without a driver's license! Too bad there weren't many others like me on the tour. Mostly chinese and even the tour guide spoke better chinese than english.
Other than that the accommodation and the locations were great!
We recommend this tour 100%, we want to say thanks to all the tour's crew especially to the tour guy Charles he was very nice with us despite we don't speak English at all. he did such a great job to try to understand us and make a great journey for us. great service, great hotels room, and the transportation was very comfortable.
I would give an above average for time management, attention to individual needs, information sharing, itinerary, driver who took repeated detours to avoid traffic during long weekend etc.
One thing that should be avoided is the 2 hour break for outlet shopping - that time was a waste, except loading ourself with cash for tickets.
One real bad thing is the night tour of Las Vegas priced at 25$/head. We were taken to Fremont Street, Venetian and LV sign ( I've been to LV 8 times before, and never visited this small place, where nobody goes). This was a waste of money and time. I felt this was a quick way for the tour guide and driver to make some money. I felt irritated after this bus ride.
Another thing is that you may not be able to step on Hoover Dam, because there seems to be no bus parking around and you are not allowed more than 10 minutes there.
Well, I would recommend this for people who cannot drive all this way alone OR anyone visiting California. For people who are living in CA, you can better visit these places.
Tour was good, my parents enjoyed it a lot. The guide was very informative and did give a lot of details. Was helpful with food choices.
Only minus was the Las Vegas city tour was cancelled due to a marathon. The guide could have assisted them on other options/ taken them on the next day.
Otherwise was a satisfactory experience.
Sent my parents on this tour last week. They loved it. Comfortable accommodations, good guide and enough time at each place to enjoy. However, I had selected Grand Canyon South Rim while making the booking but my parents were taken to West Rim and were told South Rim option doesn't exist! Not good! Other than that it was a nice trip. Booking another trip for my parents soon :)
I enjoyed this tour and Ho tried to make the most of each destination. The accommodation was good- they were very careful not to leave people behind. Meals were good except for the first night at Fresno, where there was no designated cafe/food outlets to buy already prepared food. The tour went on schedule but of course it covered a lot ground quickly.
I went on a 4-day trip together with my husband. Our tour guide, Sophia, was well-versed and explained the itinerary clearly. But what made the trip more fun is the driver Leo. Aside from making sure that we traveled safely, he's also a funny guy which made the tourists forget the long journey hours. Leo was a driver and tourists idea rolled into one.
Next time we go on another tour, I would ensure that the driver is Leo.
The tour was great. I went as a solo female traveler but returned with friends. Hotels were excellent. Tour guide, Sophia, was highly organized and driver, Joey, kept entertaining us with their jokes.
Some suggestions: (i) On the second day, instead of spending 2 hours at a shopping outlet, it would have been great if we could spend 2 hours at Yosemite in the morning and grab a quick fast-food lunch. Shopping outlets are everywhere in the world, but Yosemite is only in the United States! It would be nice if we could spend more time at the main places.
(ii) It would be great if 4.5 hours could be allotted for the West Rim Grand Canyon. Otherwise it becomes a little rushed to cover west rim in 4 hours, especially if one is taking helicopter tour.
(iii) Changing buses too frequently becomes a bit confusing.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I would use the company again and for first time travelers I would definitely recommend it.
The tour was well organized, and our guide Bruce has given very clear information and details about the range of optional activities available to choose from. Accommodation was great. It was an enjoyable trip.
This was great tour I had with my parents. Tour guide Sophia was very helpful and informative. Worth the price. Except food for Indians, as they stop only near Chinese hotels, especially vegetarians need to carry their own packed food.
The tour is well organised, covering most of the popular sites. Our Tour guide Hao was excellent, very inclusive, considering the majority of people on the tour were Chinese. The driver Alex was also excellent and very tolerant when individuals were late. I would recommend this tour. In 4 days, we traveled hundreds of miles, and saw Yosemite, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon. We made several stops to buy food and go shopping, and had time to ourselves. The hotels were excellent, especially in Las Vegas, considering the price paid. I would use this company again.
Sorry for my English being somewhat "weak", but I did like this trip. I loved the organization very much, the kindness and driver's high abilities. I will recommend TakeTours to my friends, and I will come back with you next year.
This has been our best tour ever! Every place we visited through this amazing tour lasted in our thoughts and in our eyes for months. Luxury hotels, breathtaking sights at an incredibly valued price. We definitely recommend this tour!
It was a trip worth of every single buck spent. Sophia, our tour guide is super-friendly,very knowledgeable giving timely information and well organized. Mike, the bus driver is also extremely nice and understanding. The accommodations were pretty decent for a bus tour. Itinerary is also planned really well. I am glad that I took this tour and am looking forward for another one.
Overall, the trip was good. Accommodation is perfect, but from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon, the bus was not that comfortable. Other than that, everything was good and acceptable. They charged more money in Grand Canyon.
This is a very efficient tour. It is professionally organized in such that the tour guide knew the most popular sites and the traffic associated to each site. This means that not a second is wasted and I got what I paid for and more. Angela, was very experienced, knowledgeable, and hilarious throughout the tour. With such a large group to manage by herself (and Stephan), she made me feel that everyone was accounted for. I highly recommend this tour, and having Angela as a tour guide was very worth it.
In 4 days, and hundreds of miles, we were able to see so much of Yosemite, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon. I just wished there was more time to truly experience each highlighted area, but I guess I can do that on my own.
My friend and I took this tour a week ago and we really enjoyed it. Itinerary was planned perfectly. I couldn't even imagine it would be such a pleasant trip, covering so many awesome places in just 4 days! Our tour guide Eliot was very caring and presented all the useful and interesting information during trip in really clear and understandable manner. After making stops, all the group gathered on time, I guess nobody was late during whole 4 day of our tour, so organization and planning was at the high level. Bus was comfortable and on our way back from Vegas to San Fran we watched few movies, so you won't get bored.
The tour was a good experience, especially for someone who is new to this area or visiting the place for the first time. Our tour guide - Eliot was very helpful and friendly. The tour was professionally organized and I am glad I chose it
the tour is good, the planning and timing are as mentioned in the broucher, our guide speak both in Chinese and English he announce ahead on what are the activities to be done before the stop, but we felt bit bored as he used to communicate mostly in Chinese.
1st day to yosemite trip is not worth to go in summer, you dont see anything except huge granite rocks,
on 2nd day in vegas it is not worth to go for $25 night tour, we use same bus to view 4 places for this tour (Las vegas welcome , Venetian ,Bellagio ,Fremont Street show at 8) except Fremont street which is in downtown rest area all in Las Vegas blvd strip I think we can take local bus which is far more cheap or even walk.
on 3rd day after Grand Canyon trip we visited Hoover Dam, I really don't like the way our guide pushed us to quickly see this place, we didn't get a chance to see the front view of the dam.
4th day is straight back to bay area which is 9hrs journey in which you will lost yourself by doing nothing other than sleeping, I felt it would be good if there is some entertainment during the journey.
We all had a wonderful time during our trip. George(tour guide) is very informative and humorous which made the trip pleasing. Tom(driver) is very nice and helped passengers getting off and getting on the bus. Both George and Tom coordinated very well. I would highly recommend this trip to anybody. We had a blast.
This is one of the best tour that I ever join with taketours. Our tour guide, Elliot is fabulous, he planned well, make the best decisions for us, make sure he take care of everyone, talk to the people who is always late. If you decided to go to West Rim, I don't recommend the skywalk. It is wasting money that you even can get better view at the open area and the second point. Once again, thanks Elliot!
This trip was very good value and very enjoyable. The 2 tour guides, Mark and Raymond were informative and very helpful. The coach journeys were comfortable even though they were long, and the driver, Kerry, was calm and expert, even when negociating the tricky traffic conditions in Las Vegas. The hotels were perfectly OK, and the Chinese lunch buffets were cheap and tasty. The Yosemite tour was very good and so was the Las Vegas tour. The only problem was the 3 hour wait for the helicopter ride at the West rim of the Grand Canyon. It was very expensive and poor value for money. The company organising it, Sundance, were totally disorganised. We thought perhaps that we might have done better taking the option to visit the south rim, which we decided against because of the long journey.
Regarding Las Vegas, I love it because it has a lot of interesting things there, e.g. New York zone, Paris zone, several exquisite hotels. It looks like NYC, but much better. Concerning Grand Canyon, it is incredible place and it is the real excellent nature. I love it and I want to go there again next year with my family.
It was a trip worth of every single buck spent. Mark was our tour guide and he is super-friendly. :) Randy, the bus driver is also extremely nice and understanding.
The accommodations were pretty decent for a bus tour. Itinerary is also planned really well though I would have love to have more time on Grand Canyon and one more spot if we could have covered on the last day return trip.
Anyways, Overall I am glad that I took this tour and am looking forward for another one.
This is one of our best trip with taketours. However, it has to be so as the itinerary covered the must-visits of the world. You end up spending a lot of time on the bus, but the road trip is worth it thanks to the picturesque landscapes. The golden rolling hills, farms of california, the mountains and hills on way to Yosemite, the mojave everything is worth getting an eyefull of. Our guide Elliot was excellent. He was english speaking and very knowledgeable. He made sure that we made the most of the short time we spent at each location. For the Grand Canyon visit, people going to west rim, i would recommend going for the helicopter ride rather than the skybridge. We went to the skybridge and honestly we found it over hyped. They have tight security for that place and dont allow u taking any belonging over there. They actually do a security check which I found extremely annoying. their photographers take pics of you and sell them at ridiculous prices. The helicopter ride is way expensive but very worth it. Guano point is the place worth spending more time at.
The tour itself was overall satisfying. We spent lot of time on the bus but that is how it is supposed to be if you want to visit places like Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Tour guide and his supervisor are both very helpful. I would say special thanks to the supervisor Albert, who gave us very useful advices when we want to make changes to our trip planning for the next few days. If you are bringing your parents, especially for those who have back problem, you may need to take a second thought as the tour involves long time driving, like couple of hours. Overall, I am very satisfied with the tour and would recommend to my friends in the future!
This was my third trip with TakeTours & I HIGHLY recommend Take Tours! The tour was very well done from beginning to end and the tour guide and driver, far exceeded my expectations of good service,..they were fantastic! On time travel, clean buses, informative details about the sites we visited.
First of all, we were a little bit disturbed by the fact that our travel group was whole Chinese. It's not that I don't like that.. We just would have wanted to know in advance that everybody (even the guides) can't speak proper English. As for the guides, they had a hard time understanding us and so it was in reverse.
Alltogether, the trip was a memorable experience though. The hotels were excellent, there were enough restroom stops and the landscape was, of course, beautiful. But I would like to suggest spending more time at the Grand Canyon!
On balance, I would recommend this trip, it can be a little stressful but it is clearly worth the money!!!
I don't know where to start sharing our experience. We had a lot of fun with this travel! Our tour guide Elliot was very professional. He's VERY organized and planned his decision in every way that will be easier for everybody. Handling different races, culture, ages of people is NOT easy. But he did it very well!
Our driver SKY is very good too! We appreciate all his effort and all praises for him.
Every single penny is worth the trip! I had a difficult time deciding if we will try this tour or not, later on we decided to give it a TRY, and we've made great decision. I am now planning our second trip!!!!
I was pleasantly surprised and HIGHLY recommend Take Tours! I am a teacher on summer vacation and decided to take a last minute trip before the school year starts. I found TakeTours online and thought that the price was really reasonable so I didn't really have high expectations but boy was I wrong. The tour was very well done from beginning to end and the tour guide and driver, Kien and Bogar far exceeded my expectations of good service,..they were fantastic! On time travel, clean buses, informative details about the sites we visited, personal stories from Kien and more,..truly great service! We all complianed about having to start the days so early (6:45 am) but in hindsite, I'm so glad we did! Our days were full with sites and great info,..we definitely got our monies worth! Just a few suggestions to travelers to make the best out of their experience: Bring comfortable shoes, stay hydrated, pack extra snacks in case you get hungry between stops, bring a hat or sun visor and bring a small neck pillow to rest comfortably while on the bus. And of course, bring a camera! You will not be bored on this tour! Thank you again Kien and Bogar for an EXCELLENT and memorable trip!!
I really had a great time with my sister on this tour. The tour guide (Elliot)is very friendly and did explain many facts about the places we went by. He organized it so well that we had ample time to spend at each destination.hotels arranged for the stay was pretty good all three days. I recommend take tours !
My in-laws loved this Bus trip. It was be relaxing and enjoyed it thoroughly the whole trip. No hassle with driving, Booking Hotels, Planning for places etc. This is a good one and a real value for money.
I really loved that trip, amazing locations! What I loved most is that, even considering the hours on the bus are some, I could enjoy an incredible view of the California countryside. Golden hills are hard to forget! Elliot has been great such as Alan! I really appreciate the organization, I would recommend the trip and maybe I'll take another one to other destinations.
My kids (7 and 8 year olds ) loved this tour, I was worried at first that they might get bored with the long drive but my son told me that it was the best vacation ever!!!!!!
I was just frustrated that the tour guide won't let me charge my phone in the bus although one was being used by the driver I noticed that one port was not in used. He flatly said "No" to my request.
The service at the CHinese buffet in Bakersfiled was too slow, we waited more than half an hour before they served our drinks .One of us had to go to front 2-3x to remind them of our orders.
They need to let us watch or at least ask if we want to watch a movie because they only let us watch movies on the drive home to San Francisco which was an old MR. Bean movie. They should bring some new release movies for selection, too.
Well as long as my kids enjoyed and loved the tour we will definitely take another one this summer as they are requesting for the 7 day tour. Looking forward to our next adventure !!!!!
Me,my wife and my 3.5 year old son had an amazing time on this tour. Our tour guide Mr Mike was very informative and very caring too. I am eager to travel with gotobus again. It covers all the beautiful places in the world, we enjoyed a lot. I highly recommend tour bus and specially this itienary.
Me and my wife enjoyed this trip a lot. All departures were on time and the itinerary covered most of the places of interest. The accomodation was also of good quality. The tour guide Cathy was very friendly and informed. Overall, a pleasant experience..
Really did not regret joining this tour. Not only was the places of attractions beautiful and are must-gos, you will meet many wonderful friends from all around the world and learn about their home country without being there physically. I think this money was well-spent and you have to try it to know its awesomeness
The trip gone pretty smoothly, its pretty rushed at Grand Canyon and we waited 1 hour for the bus, which i'm not sure if its miscommunication between the guide and the Canyon bus driver.
The guide gave an extra stop if we are punctual in returning to the bus.
The guide's english is so-so, and few tourist had difficulties understanding the itinerary, but just validate with him on the way. They're usually helpful just to make sure the trip went smooth and less waiting time for all.
Overall, its a pleasant trip, the hotel is not bad (Excalibur in LV). But take note of waiting time for other tourist who tends to be late.
We had a great time and had Lankun as our tour guide. She was informative, lively and ensured that no one got lost. Handled a situation very well, when a couple had got on to the wrong bus. Hotels Four Points Sheraton and Excalibur were really good hotels. We had good time and will travel with GotoBus again.
My in-laws had a great time on this tour and according to them, the tour was relaxing, systematic, impressive, enjoyable and well -organized with no hitches. They had a very good driver by the name Henry.
They stayed at Four Points in Fresno City and had a good stay after their Yosemite Valley visit. They stayed at Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas and had a comfortable stay.
The only problem they faced was vegetarian food since the tour catered to the chinese groups and the eating joints were also catering to their tastes. They suggested that vegetarian people should carry enough food for the trip and be well stocked.
Their suggestion to the tour operators would be to cater to vegetarian food.
Overall, the 4-day Yosemite, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon tour I took on Nov 9th was a very good tour. We were lucky to have Charles as our tour guide. He is quite a gentleman, very organized, and very knowledgeable. His English is perfect. And he sang very well, too. (Did not have chance to say thanks and good bye to him when we had to transfer to another bus to go back to San Francisco, so here it is :-))
Good choice of hotels for the tour: Four Points Sheraton in Fresno is excellent, Circus Hotel in Las vegas is as good as well. Big room & king zize bed for one person, so it's worth all the money! But "All you can eat buffet dinner" at Circus Hotel is the worst. I had to buy a small bottle of red wine there to swallow down some of the food!
We were a party of 5, including my parents who were vegetarian traveling from India on the Memorial day weekend. The bus was very comfortable. Our bus had a mixture of folks from all over the world but mostly Indians. The bus started on each day at roughly 6:30am. The tour guide Todd was quite amazing making sure that none of the passengers were ever lost. There is ample time in Las Vegas, Yosemite. The time in grand canyon may be a little less. The tour guide and bus driver were very friendly and stopped the bus at regular intervals of 2hrs for restroom stop, which was very good. The longest without stop was 2.5 hrs on the way from Las Vegas to Bay Area. There was ample vegetarian food on the trip for those who are willing to eat pizza, bread, salad. On the way back there is a sushi buffet and an Indian place for the vege-folks. On the whole a pleasant experience for folks who want to travel without the hassle of driving and who have less time to see 3 great places. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5, is cause I wish they made the number of stops to at least 2 viewing points of the grand canyon and not just the mother point.
