Today, we will take a sightseeing tour in Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego, surrounded by the Le Martial Mountains. We will explore the city and learn about the people who call this incredible place home. We will begin by traveling back in time to the historical La Mission neighborhood, the area first settled by colonists. Then, we will continue through the Brown and Solier districts, built by immigrants at the beginning of the 20th century. During this time, the city was centered on a once-active prison intended for Argentina's most serious criminals. We will see old homes that are very important to the local culture. As we continue, we will learn about the incredible growth in the 1980s that saw many new settlers move to this area, making it the city it is today. We will also visit the Ushuaia Maritime Museum, the Old Prison, and the End of the World Museum.
