Read what other travelers think about this tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
My tour started on a slightly bad note as when I came to the location where we all were supposed to meet at sharp 2:00 pm there was no one there and I felt duped. Anyway, after making a few calls, they told me to come to another entrance as the place had 2 entrances which they should have ideally mentioned earlier and because of this I was unable to see a few attractions in DC. The tour is very hectic and you have to wake up really early so be prepared for a action packed vacation. Overall it was a good tour , but one suggestion is that do not eat at the places where they stop coz they are very expensive, you could skip it and eat at other places near by. You can definitely take this tour!
The tour covered many attractions and landmarks. It could be tiring as the bus rides were long (2 to 4 hours) between cities. Overall good experience for the price.
The east coast tour i joined on 16th july was fantastic but for visit to Boston which i feel not not neccessary as it is not informative or much to see but it consumes lot of time in travelling and strain which can be avoided and same time can be more utilised at Newyork and Niagara falls ,if that can be done it will be more appropriate so organisers may take note of it ok,i do not know the constraints in doing that
Tour is well orgainsed and covers many things in 5 days. But you have to get up early morning everyday. Especially at Boston. It is not worth seeing also. Could have to utilised the same time at Nwe York City. Tour guides are Chinese but friendly. They can speak in English. Food can be a big problem especially people eating Vegeterian Food. The tour halts only at places where Chinese food is surely available or Sometimes at Food Courts where you can find Veg Food. Otherwise take your own food packs from begining. Like Bread, Milk, Butter, Khakras, Theplas, fruits, Etc....
Overall nice Experience for the Price.
We had a great time.It would be nice if there was a place to go and walk around if we decide not to enter some of the attractions. It was fast paced and very informative. Food stops were not the greatest, pack food, especially breakfast.
My sister and I had a great time. Because of the long weekend things were a bit rushed, but thanks to the professional and caring service of our guide Michelle and our driver Carlo we were well taken care of.
Great value for the money
It's a very lasting tour experience. Thanks to superbly nice tour guide, Vicky and the well organized activities which makes it unforgettable. Though one observation is the quality of one of the hotels we stayed at was not good enough and not within our expectation. But all in all, the trip is fantastic. Kudos to GOTOBUS.
Pros: Great Tour from coverage perspective. Good tour guide. Program is crunched and fit nicely to visit so many places in 5 days. Travel and accommodations are great
Niagara/DC/Corning/Hershey was given good time.
Cons: You have to get up early and sometime really early.
Boston and NYC coverage can be better. Freedom trail/Boston downtown was missing. Central Park overview, Rockefeller Center/Grand Central/NYC skyline during night was missing.
We wasted entire half day on Monday which could have been better utilized to show NYC at night and then we could have come to hotel.
Part of the problem was traffic in Boston and NYC.
Suggesting tour guide to shuffle this tour in such a way that Boston and NYC can be covered on Sat/Sun. I know their plan is a bit complicated but if they could do that then lot more things can be covered in Boston and NYC.
Conclusion: I would recommend the tour especially for the fist time visitors to touch upon all these places because lot of travel is covered in really short time.
Great trip, our guide Richard was fantastic. The amount of time everywhere was enough and not rushed, although we would have liked to spend an extra day in NYC which we could have done if we had the time. The tour was very accommodating and took good care of us at all times.
I am speaking as an American citizen who took this bus tour. Let me say up front that all the optional things listed on the description page are extra. You do not have to do them but the trip would not be as worthwhile if you do not participate. While there are many things to do on the trip the optional things listed are the best attractions. None of them are included in the price for your ticket. The price of the ticket includes your bus ride and the motels. It does not include the tip which although is not mandatory it is expected. Thats $6 per day per person. They will collect this on the bus. All expences on the trip are paid in cash except some of the restaurants. There are ATM's in every motel. Now having said that. The trip was very enjoyable but also very tiring. Getting so many places and things done in only five days means that you have a limited time to enjoy the things you do see. Our tour guide(Richard Chan) was very organized and helped us to get the most out of our time at each attraction. He was very knowledgable about every place we went and he was very helpful. Always ready to answer any questions we had. We changed buses and tour guides in New York on our last day.Our tour guide(Allen) for New York was not nearly as good as Richard. We did not know what was going on half the time and he only spoke if we asked him questions. We would stop suddenly and then the door would fly open and that is when we would get our instructions. Unlike Richard who informed us in plenty of time to understand what was going on. Needless to say we were very pleased with the first four days with Richard but were dissapointed with Allen in New York. However the driver did get us to all the attractions safely and Allen let us know when to be back at the bus to leave. Understand that this is a Chinese owned and opereated bus tour but the tour guides speak english and other dialects of Asian countries. I suppose I would take other trips with this company if I knew Richard would be our guide but I think I would prefer a more layed back slower paced trip.
Well organized tour but the hotels provided towards end of the tour were not good enough as compared to the start of the tour.May face problem if you are a completely vegetarian.Tour guides are friendly and nice.
I booked this package for my parents and they are really very happy with this tour. Guide is really good to them and they call me every time to say thanks to me for a beautiful trip. Thanks GOTOBUS.COM
