The most comprehensive tour of George Washington's home available, our tour starts off at 1:00 pm with a tour of Old Town Alexandria, where we will view George Washington's townhouse and the boyhood home of Robert E. Lee. We will also stop at Christ Church, where the tour guide will tell you about the significance the church held in both George Washington and Robert E. Lee's lives. From there we will travel to the Mount Vernon plantation, the famous Presidentís former residence, where we will tour the mansion as well as more than a dozen outbuildings and the Colonial Revival Gardens. We will also pay our respects at the tomb of George and Martha Washington, which is located on the grounds. Donít miss visiting the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center as well as the Ford Orientation Center, where you will learn all about the life of George Washington at their 23 galleries and theaters and view over 500 original artifacts from the Presidentís life.
We will stop to eat at a food court, which offers a variety of lunch options with a glass-enclosed pavilion or open-air terrace seating.
