    Day 1

    Anchorage

    Today guests will arrive at Anchorage ANC airport. After pickup, guests will be transferred to hotel for rest. The rest day will be free time. Hotel usually check-in after 3:00pm.

    Day 2

    Anchorage Turn-again Arm Winter Explore

    Depart at around 10:00 am, we will go to the Turn-again Arm, take photos at Beluga Point. We will have the opportunity to take the tram (at own expense) at Alyeska Resort. After lunch in Anchorage, we will visit Earthquake Park and Captain Cook Monument. And you can go shopping in Anchorage downtown at the end day off. Back to Anchorage hotel at around 4:00 pm. Optional Activities: Winter glacier flight tour for about 1 hour; Land for about 10-15min and then you can appreciate the scenery on mountain top.

    If you want to attend Matanuska Glacier Hiking rather than Anchorage Turnagain Arm Winter Explore, you can pay $130 per person to upgrade to Matanuska Glacier Guided Hiking. If you choose to upgrade, lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.

    Guests can also choose to join the Aurora Chasing Tour. Departing at 22:00 to the outskirt of Anchorage for the appearance of aurora.

      Turn-again Arm

      A waterway into the northwestern part of the Gulf of Alaska. It is one of two narrow branches at the north end of Cook Inlet, the other being Knik Arm.

      Earthquake Park

      The 1964 Alaskan earthquake, also known as the Great Alaskan earthquake occurred at 5:36 PM AST on Good Friday, March 27 across south-central Alaska. The destroyed area in Anchorage has since been turned into Earthquake Park.

      Captain Cook Monument

      The monument in central Anchorage is a multi-storey wooden observation deck with a statue of Captain Cook overlooking Cook Inlet and Anchorage train station.

      Winter Glacier Helicopter

    Anchorage - Denali - Fairbanks (272 miles)

    Today we will take winter aurora train to Denali National Park. We will visit Denali winter visitor center. Around 22:00 we will visit Aurora Viewing Lodge and go back to hotel at 02:00.

      Aurora Winter Train

      Operated by the Alaska Railroad between the cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. It is a seasonal train, only operating during the non-summer months.

      The bar is on the mountain top where is far away from the city and has less light pollution. There is a large monitoring screen in the bar, so please make yourself comfortable inside while waiting for the Northern lights to show up.

      There are thousands of one-dollar bills with hand-written blessings all over the wall and the roof of the bar. You could wait for the Northern Lights in this lovely warm lodge and have a drink if you’re interested.

    Fairbanks - Yukon River Camp

    You can enjoy a free morning. Around 1:00 pm we will head for North Pole, visit Museum of North. At 5:30 pm we will leave for Yukon River Camp, view the remarkable aurora at night. We especially recommend you optional tours: Dogsled.

      A Christmas-themed retail store in North Pole, Alaska. It was founded as a trading post alongside the Richardson Highway in 1952.

      Museum of North

      Housed on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, the museum's mission is to acquire, conserve, investigate, and interpret specimens and collections relating to the natural, artistic, and cultural heritage of Alaska and the Circumpolar North.

      Yukon River

      The Yukon River, which is one of the major rivers in North America, runs across Alaska and is injected into the Bering Sea. The whole basin is around 850,000 square kilometers, and is more famous for its natural resources (forests, gold and silver mines).

      Dogsled and Culture Tour

      An Alaskan resident Leslie will take you experience dog sledding and introduce you the dog sledding culture. Leslie opens a training ground for the sled dogs and trains young mushers. Leslie’s dog sledding cultural exhibition center shows visitors how an Alaskan native use the dog sled as a traditional commuting tool and its profound cultural traditions.

    Yukon River Camp - Coldfoot - Fairbanks (180 miles)

    Today we will depart from Yukon River Camp around 10:00 am, drive through Dalton Highway, cross the Arctic Circle and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate. We will later arrive at Coldfoot where you can mail postcards to your family and friends in the northernmost post office in America. We will also have chance to chase Aurora on the way back to Fairbanks.

    Fairbanks - Chena Hot Spring Aurora Tour - Fairbanks

    Departing at 18:30 from hotel, we will start Chena Hot Spring Aurora Tour: visit Ice Museum, enjoy Apple Martini, watch aurora whilst taking a bath in hot spring. Return to Fairbanks hotel around 02:00. Optional activities available: Snowmobiling or Ice fishing and BBQ.

      Chena Hot Springs Resort

      Chena Hot Springs was founded over 100 years ago. The resort makes use of the first low-temperature binary geothermal power plant built in Alaska and is working on several alternative energy projects, including production and use of hydrogen and vegetable oil for fuel.

      Aurora Ice Museum

      The present museum is made of a steel framework with hollow walls and consists of a great hall and a lounge. Some of the ice sculptures include a gigantic ice tower and life-size jousting knights. One of the rooms even has a non-functioning ice toilet.

      Ice Fishing and Barbecue

      The fishing guide Don will guide you to catch the trout and salmon! The Fishing equipment, clothes, transportation from the hotel are included.The tour guide will assist you to buy a fishing license ($25/person at your own expense) on the tour day.

    • This journey requires a US visa.
    • Due to fire safety requirements in Alaska, extra beds cannot be added to hotel rooms. Every room is furnished with 2 beds.
    • The optional tour is affected by the weather factors. If the tour got cancelled, we will issue a refund.
    • If there is any discrepancy between the schedule and the tour guide, please refer to the guide time.
    • There are a few restaurants along the Arctic Circle where you can have lunch and dinner or prepare your own meals.
    • Aurora is a natural phenomenon and depends on solar activity. You are not guaranteed to see it.
    • The order of the trip will be adjusted according to your departure dates and weather conditions.
    • Note that plans from many cellular carriers do not work in Alaska, please make sure the number you provided can receive texts or calls after landing, otherwise an alternative communication method should be established beforehand.
    • Yukon River Camp: No separate toilet or bathroom at Yukon River Camp. There are only public toilets and bathrooms. There are only two single beds in each room. If you book a Triple or Quadruple room, you will be arranged in two separate rooms during your stay at Yukon River Camp, and no one will share a room with strangers. You could just take the required items to Yukon River Camp, store the heavy luggage in the front desk of Fairbanks hotel.

    • Cancellation and Refund Policy: TakeTours makes every effort to serve our customers better. We also advise all customers to purchase traveler's insurance in case of interruption, accidents, illness, or anything else that may come up. If a reservation has to be cancelled, customers will be charged a fee depending on how far from the departure date the cancellation takes place.

    • Itinerary Variations

      We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    • Tour Cancellation

      We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
