    Day 1

    Auckland - Hahei (92 km)

    Today, we will depart from Auckland, heading south to walk around famous Caathedral Cove. Accessible only by foot or boat, this place holds some of New Zealand's most spectacular scenery and stunning coastal views. Afterwards, we will continue to Hot Water Beach. In the afternoon, we will have time to go kayaking before we feast on a delicious BBQ dinner.

      Experience the many moods and stunning scenery of Hahei and Mercury Bay. Go scuba diving and explore the marine wildlife in the Hahei Marine Reserve or explore the wonderful coastline on a scenic boat trip or a guided sea kayak tour, dig your own spa pool at Hot Water Beach or enjoy a round of golf.

      Cathedral Cove

      Cathedral Cove is a naturally formed archway deserves photographic attention. A gigantic arched cavern passes through a white rock headland to join two secluded coves. The cathedral-like arch gives the whole area an air of grandeur. The beach is sandy with shady pohutukawa trees along the foreshore - a perfect place for a picnic and a swim.

      Hot Water Beach

      An underground river of hot water flows from the interior of the earth to surface in the Pacific Ocean at Hot Water Beach. Families, kids and couples can been seen digging their own spa pool in the sand to lie back in and relax while the steam from their hot pool envelops them. The beach also boasts some great surf, cruisy cafés and galleries.

    Hahei - Rotorua (149 km)

    Today, we will travel to Rotorua, arriving around midday, to explore this area known for its Maori heritage and geothermal activity. We will get the chance to partake in many activities in the area, including a visit to Hobbiton. In the evening, we will feel welcomed into authentic Tamaki Village, where we will learn all about Maori culture, feast on a delicious meal and partake in an interactive cultural performance.

      Located in the Bay of Plenty region, Rotorua is New Zealand's 10th largest urban city. Tourists can visit the Government Gardens and the Rotorua Museum of Art and History. Other popular activities include mountain biking, boating, and fishing.

      Tamaki Maori Village

      Experience the Maori culture firsthand at a traditional Hangi feast. Using the same method as their ancestors, food is cooked beneath the ground on hot stones. Visitors can also enjoy a cultural performance with songs and "haka," a Maori warrior dance.

    Rotorua - Whakahoro (211 km)

    We will begin the day by visiting some bubbling mud pools before stopping at powerful Huka Falls, New Zealand's most photographed natural attraction. Today, we will head to one of the most parts of the North Island by visiting Blue Duck Station in Whakahoro, a 7,200 acre country farm that is both a working sheep and beef station as well as a leading site in environmental conservation leader. This afternoon, we will get the opportunity to take part in a 4WD Bush Safari adventure to explore the vast land, learning about the local history and the farm's conservation efforts. We will enjoy a dinner cooked with all local produce.

Alternatively, we can go to the Volcanic Centre Museum at our own expense.

    Tongariro National Park - Wellington (330 km)

    Early in the morning, we will drive to Wellington, arriving around midday. This modest city is known as the "coolest little capital in the world," according to Lonely Planet. It's a great place to check out the lively arts scene, go shopping, sip coffee in a local café or try some craft beers. The city is also home to the New Zealand Parliament and the iconic Beehive Government Building. This afternoon, we will have the options of touring the world famous Weta Workshop, marvel at the wonders of the Te Papa National Museum or wander along the Oriental Parade.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.

    Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.

    Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .

    (Notification day and departure day are not counted)

    • 8 days or more prior to departure - 35% of total purchase amount.
    • 3-7 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • Within 2 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

    Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
