Today we set out Taiyuan to explore Yanmen Pass, which is a military defense project, become the most ancient northern China a solid defense line.

In the morning, we will leave Taiyuan and drive to Jincheng, where we will visit the former Residence of Chen Tingjing.
Jincheng is located in the southeast corner of Shanxi province. It is an industrial city in an area where coal mining is an important industry.
The Former Residence of Chen Tingjing
Home of Chen Tingjing, the minister of Personnel of the Qing Dynasty, who was a teacher of the Emperor Kangxi. The constructions make the most of the hillside, displaying a multiple confuguration of houses, courtyards and gardens.

In the morning, we will travel to Jiaozuo. A 2-hour journey with stopover in a local food street market with plenty delicious local lunch options. After lunch, we will visit Yuntai Mountain. Later, we will drive to Zhengzhou.
A prefecture-level city in northern Henan province, China. Jiaozuo is located adjacent to the Yellow River and is just south of the Taihang Mountain.
On February 13, 2004, Yuntai Mountain was named the world's first World Geopark by UNESCO. Yuntai waterfall, situated within Yuntai Geopark, with a fall of 314 metres, is claimed as the tallest waterfall in China.

After breakfast, we will visit the wooden tower pagoda of Fogong Temple. After lunch, we will visit the Hanging Temple. At the end of the day, we will transfer back to Beijing.

Pagoda of Fogong Temple
The Sakyamuni Pagoda of Fogong Temple is a wooden Chinese pagoda built in 1056. The pagoda stands on a 4m tall stone platform, has a 10m tall steeple and reaches a total height of 67.31m tall; it is the oldest existent fully wooden pagoda still standing in China.

A temple built into a cliff (75 m or 246 ft above the ground) near Mount Heng in Hunyuan County, Datong City, Shanxi province. Built more than 1,500 years ago, this temple is notable not only for its location on a sheer precipice but also because it is the only existing temple with the combination of three Chinese traditional religions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
