On Day-1 of the tour starting 3rd Oct 2019, our party of 4 arrived were picked up from Boston Chinatown @ 81 Harrison Ave around 4.30pm i.e the designated spot and sent to Comfort Inn, Randoff for the night’s stay. Despite the printed itininery spelling out clearly that for Day1 “Guests will arrive in Boston, meeting tour guide in the baggage claim area of Logan Aiport OR at Chinatown (81 Harrison Ave, Boson, MA02111) around 4.30pm, then transfer to hotel at NO extra cost” we were asked to pay US$10 each i.e. total US$40 for the transport to the hotel and clearly in breach of the tour itininery printed terms and conditions.
Further for Day-2 (i.e. 4th Oct 2019) of the tour itininery, it was supposed to include “Plymouth’s Whale Watching Cruise” but this was cancelled and we were verbally informed of the reason as owing to inclement weather and substituted with a visit to the Breakers’ Mansion. We all found this very disappointing as the whale watching cruise was the main highlight and reason why we had selected this particular 5-Day tour. In fact, the actual weather on 4th Oct 2019 looked sunny when we were picked up from the hotel (in fact, stayed that way for rest of the day) and there was no weather forecast report presented by the tour guide to back up his reason for the tour item substitution.
On Day-3 (i.e. 5th Oct 2019) our visit included the Nubble Lighthouse. We were asked to pay extra US$5/pax i.e. total of US$20 simply to have the coach waiting for us whilst we viewed around the area. This is again another clear case of seeking unjustified payment at our expense because this was a public area with no enforced parking fees and there were not many vehicles at the time of our visit.
