Day 1: Cairo

Welcome to Cairo, the capital of Egypt! Shortly upon your arrival, our staff will be waiting for you at the airport. He or she will arrange for you to apply for the visa if needed.

Day 2: Cairo - Memphis - Cairo (47 km)

Rise and shine! Today we will visit the world-famous Giza Necropolis! The Giza Pyramids are among Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the most famous of which is the Great Pyramid of Giza. Then we will have a look at the great sculpture Great Sphinx of Giza next to the Pyramids to explore the "Mystery of the Sphinx". Following, we will head to visit the Valley Temple of Khafre. In the afternoon, we'll drive to Memphis and visit the semi-open-air museum, where you can explore the acient ruins freely. Finally, we will go to visit the oldest pyramid in Egypt known as Pyramid of Djoser.

    Cairo, Egypt's sprawling capital, is set on the Nile River. Nearby, Giza is site of the iconic pyramids and Great Sphinx, dating to the 26th century B.C.E. In Gezira Island's leafy Zamalek district, 187m Cairo Tower affords panoramic city views.

    Giza Necropolis

    The Giza Necropolis are among the most popular touristic destinations in the world. Each of these spectacular structures served as the final resting place of a king of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for King Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), and the other two for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson. Khufu’s pyramid is both the oldest and largest of the three, and the first building to exceed it in height would not be built for another 3,800 years!

    Great Sphinx of Giza

    The Great Sphinx rises above the desert majestically as the tallest monolith statue in the world. It was built during the Old Kingdom of Egypt, usually dated between 2558-2532 BCE, under the reign of Pharaoh Khafra.

    Valley Temple of Khafre

    The Valley Temple of Khafre is located next to the statue of the Sphinx and extends towards east-west, and it has two entrances, one on the north side and the other in the south. Within the eastern and western walls there are cavities. It is believed that the cavities of the eastern wall were designated for sunrise rites, while the cavities of the western wall were dedicated to sunset rites.

  • Memphis, EGYPT

    Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina, 20 km (12 mi) south of Giza. According to legend related by Manetho, the city was founded by the pharaoh Menes.

    The Museum of Memphis

    Today, in Memphis, you can visit this historical Open Air Museum, which amongst other artifacts exhibits a limestone colossus of King Ramses II. This enormous statue, carved in limestone, (and missing the King's feet) is about 10m (33.8ft) long. You can also see a stunning, giant alabaster Sphinx, weighing more than 80 tons, which once stood outside the massive temple of the god Ptah. You can also experience the sight of the remains of granite statues, showcasing Ramses II, as well as granite coffins and commemorative tablets from later periods.

    Pyramid of Djoser

    The Step Pyramid of Djoser, constructed at Saqqara about 4,700 years ago, was the first pyramid the Egyptians ever built. The pyramid started off as a mastaba tomb, a flat-roofed structure with sloping sides — and, through a series of expansions, evolved into a 197-foot-high (60 meters) pyramid. It has six layers, one built on top of the other. These enormous tributes to the memory of the Egyptian kings have become synonymous with the country.

Day 3: Cairo Airplane Aswan (682 km)

After breakfast, out staff will transfer you to the airport and you will take a flight to Aswan. In Aswan, you will be able to enjoy majestic view of the Aswan Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk made of huge granite. After lunch, a romantic Nile sailboat is specially arranged. Following, we will take you to the pier to go through the cruise boarding procedures. After boarding, you can have enough time for free activities.

    Aswan is a city in the south of Egypt, and is the capital of the Aswan Governorate.Aswan is a busy market and tourist centre located just north of the Aswan Dam on the east bank of the Nile at the first cataract.

    High Dam

    This embankment dam sits on the Nile River in southern Egypt. Built between 1898 and 1902 to prevent the annual flooding of the Nile River, the dam also provides irrigation water and hydroelectric power.

    Unfinished Obelisk

    This ancient obelisk is the largest known in the world, weighing in at around 1,200 tons, but it was buried under bedrock for many years due to its incompletion. It was most likely built during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut.

Day 4: Aswan Cruise Kom Ombo (43 km)

Get up at around 3:00 am and head out for the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples! The cruise will arrive at Kom Ombo in the afternoon, and we will visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. The oldest calendar pattern in Egypt and even the world is preserved in this temple. The entire temple adopts a symmetrical structure with the same specifications. The left side is dedicated to the eagle god Holos, and the right is dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god. This temple is one of the few temples dedicated to both gods at the same time. Following, the Crocodile Museum will give you a good chance to get close contact with African crocodiles. Finally, we will stay overnight on the cruise.

1. If you choose to participate in the Abu Simbel Temples, you need to disembark at around 03:00 am. And you have to bring a packed breakfast with yourself and enjoy it in the car. It is about 3 hours' one-way drive from the wharf to the Abu Simbel Temples. Guests who do not participate in the self-funded activities can enjoy themselves on the river boat.

    Abu Simbel Temples

    These two massive rock temples in Aswan were carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II. They were forgotten for thousands of years, buried under sand until their rediscovery in 1813.

  • Kom Ombo, EGYPT

    It is an agricultural town in Egypt famous for the Temple of Kom Ombo.

    Temple of Kom Ombo

    The Temple of Kom Ombo is unique due to its double design. This meant that there were courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek. The northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris ("Horus the Elder"), along "with Tasenetnofret or Panebtawy (Lord of the Two Lands)."

    Crocodile Museum

    The Crocodile Museum is a small museum, which displays some mummified crocodile specimens and other cultural relics related to crocodiles and mummies, as well as crocodiles still in embryo, small crocodiles and large crocodiles. There are also 20 paintings and statues belonging to crocodile worship.

Day 5: Kom Ombo Cruise Edfu Cruise Luxor (148 km)

After arriving in Edfu in the morning, you will be arranged to take a special carriage tour to visit the Edfu Temple. This temple is considered to be the last temple built entirely in accordance with ancient Egyptian traditions. It is also the only well-preserved ancient temple in Egypt. Next, we will return to the cruise after the tour, you can fully appreciate the beauty of both sides of the Nile River and watch the spectacular scene of the cruise ships lining up to pass through the Esna lock. Finally, we will arrive in Luxor and disembark to visit the world's largest open-air museum - Luxor Temple and then stay overnight on the cruise.

1. During the carriage ride, the carriage may cause an accident due to the emotions of the horse itself. We highly suggest being sure to hold the handrails tightly during the ride. Before the carriage stops, do not stand up or act dangerously, especially it is forbidden to climb the groom's seat.

    An ancient Egyptian temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, was built in the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BC. It's located on the west bank of the Nile in Edfu, Upper Egypt and is one of the best preserved shrines in Egypt.

    This Egyptian city is located on the West Bank of the Nile River, 55 km south of Luxor. The modern city is built up around ancient ruins.

    Esna Lock

    Esna Lock is very narrow and can only accommodate one cruise ship at a time. Due to this factor, it usually takes several hours to pass through the sluice. While waiting to pass through the sluice, you can explore the unique scenic views of Esna’s water market.

Day 6: Luxor - Hurghada (210 km)

Get up at 4:00 am and head out for a once in a lifetime hot air balloon ride! After the ignition, the colorful hot air balloons fly into the sky, just like air taxis in the fairy tale world. First, we will check out the cruise at about 8:00 in the morning, and then we will head to the Valley of the Kings. You cannot just miss the legendary tomb of Tutankhamun! Following, we will visit the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon standing between the west bank of the Nile and the Valley of the Kings. After one-day tour, we will drive to Hurghada, where the coral reefs and turquoise waters ideal for windsurfing are ideal for relaxation.

    Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile River in Egypt. It's on the site of ancient Thebes, the pharaohs' capital at the height of their power, during the 16th-11th centuries B.C.E.

    LXR Hot-air Balloon

    Experience a new side of Luxor! From the sky, you will get a 45-minute hot air balloon experience. As you soar over the ancient city, your pilot guide will point out various historic attractions and tell you a bit about the area’s rich ancient history.

    Colossi of Memnon

    These two massive stone statues near Luxor have stood for nearly 3,400 years, marking the entrance to the ancient Theban necropolis. Both statues depict the pharaoh Amenhotep III and are made of quartzite sandstone.

Day 9: Hurghada - Cairo (452 km)

After breakfast, our staff will transfer you to the airport and you will take a flight to Cairo. After arriving in Cairo, we'll head to visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The museum houses more than 300,000 precious collections of statues, paintings and handicrafts from prehistoric to Greek and Roman periods. The famous golden mask is the most precious of them. After lunch, we will take a trip over to the majestic Citadel of Saladin. The top tower of Ali Mosque towers into the sky like a sword, and the huge dome shines in the sun. Next, follow us to visit the oldest mosque in Egypt, the Amir Mosque. Afterwards, we will visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the intricate Hanging Church. This is where the ivory-inlaid altar screen and the marble pulpit are worth viewing. Finally, you can have free time in the local shopping center!

    Containing an unparalleled collection of over 120,000 items, this museum opened in 1902 to show a detailed history of ancient Egyptian culture. Many languages can be found on the artifacts, including Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Arabic.

    Al-Azhar Park

    Al-Azhar Park In 1984, His Highness the Aga Khan announced his decision to create a park for the Cairene to commemorate the foundations of Cairo by his ancestors, the Fatimids, in 969. The selected location was the derelict Darassa site, a 30-hectare mound of rubble between the castern edge of the 12th century City Walls and the “City of the Dead”. Al-Azhar Park opened to the public in 2005.

    Saladin Citadel

    This medieval Islamic fortress in Cairo was built during the reign of Saladin to defend the city against the threat of invading Crusader forces. The famous Mosque of Muhammad Ali is located within the citadel.

    Amir Mosque

    Amir Mosque is located in the old city of Cairo. It is the first mosque in Egypt and even in Africa. It was established in 642 AD by the Arabs who conquered Egypt at that time. Its establishment marked the beginning of the rise of the Arab nation and Islam in Egypt and Africa.

    Ben Ezra Synagogue

    This ancient synagogue in Old Cairo, sometimes referred to as the Synagogue of the Levantines, is, according to tradition, the site where baby Moses was found. A store of ancient Hebrew scriptures was found in its storeroom.

    The Hanging Church

    This Coptic church in Cairo is one of the oldest in Egypt, with history dating back to the 3rd century AD. It gets its named because it is positioned above the gatehouse to the Babylon Fortress.

  • If you would like to join the optional activities, please pay the fee in cash to the tour guide. You cannot buy / use the tickets on your own or use City Passes. The tour guide will arrange the tickets for the group.

  • Customers are held solely responsible for their own travel documents and/or visas if required.
  • Luggage: Each customer may bring on board one checked luggage plus one carry-on bag.
  • Bus Arrangement: Usually only passengers in the same order will be arranged in the same bus. If you book the tour separately with your friends and you want to sit in the same bus, you need to inform us before departure . Or you may be arranged in different buses.
  • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.
  • This tour does not accept any City Pass or your own tickets for the attraction. Passengers who take this tour need to purchase admission tickets from tour escort upon arrival.

Confirmation

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

Redemption

  • Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

Terms & Condition

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. The time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through webmail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    15 days or more prior to departure - Free cancellation with full refund. Please reconfirm the penalty for the added hotel or flight ticket.
    8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Within 7 days prior to departure or no show - 100% of the total purchase amount.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
