    Guatemala City - Antigua

    After arrival at the Aurora Airport in Guatemala City, we will be picked by by a tour representative and then transferred to the local hotel for the evening.

    Antigua

    Today, we will travel to Guatemala to explore Antigua at our own pace, able to visit ruins, palaces, churches, and museums.

    Antigua Guatemala - Lanquin (139 km)

    After breakfast our local representative will meet us at the hotel at 8:00am and then transfer to Lanquin (7hrs). Upon arrival we will be dropped off at the local bus station, where one of our representatives will meet us and transfer to our hotel.

    Day 4

    Lanquin - Semuc Champey - Lanquin (10 km)

    Today at 9:00am we will take a truck from Lanquin to Semuc Champey Park where we will enjoy the Natural crystal pools. After that we will return to the hotel.

      Semuc Champey is a natural monument in the department of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, near the Q'eqchi' Maya town of Lanquin. It consists of a natural 300m limestone bridge, under which passes the Cahabon River.

    Lanquin - Flores (223 km)

    Today we will transfer to the Island town, Flores (8hrs). We will be picked up early in the morning from our hotel in Lanquin. Once arrival at Flores, we will be transfer to the hotel by one of our representatives.

    Flores

    Early in the morning, we will transfer to Tikal National Park, where we will spend 4 hours exploring Mayan ruins before returning to Flores for the night.

      Tikal

      Tikal is the ruin of an ancient city, found in a rainforest in Guatemala. It is one of the largest archaeological sites and urban centers of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization.

    Flores - Melchor de Mencos - San Ignacio (382 km)

    Today we will be picked up early in the morning by one of our representatives at the hotel front desk. From there we will take a bus to San Ignacio, changing vehicles at Melchor de Mencos (Guatemalan Border 2hrs). *Please make sure you have your documents on hand for customs. First on the list would have to be ATM (Actun Tunichil Muknal) consider the top sacred cave around the world, then Caracol Ruins and Pine Ridge Area, we've also got a nice mix of tubing, horseback riding and Maya ruins to stomp around near town.
    • San Ignacio, Belize

      San Ignacio is a quaint town located west of Belize City. With plenty of accommodations catered to adventurers, it's a great place for exploring Maya ruins as well as cave systems in the Western part of the country.

    Day 8

    San Ignacio - Belize City - Caye Caulker (135 km)

    Today we can depart at any time of the day. Then transfer to Caye Caulker. Firstly a 3hr drive to Belize City. Once we arrive there we will then take a Water Taxi towards Caye Caulker or Caye Hicaco. (We suggest you leave not later than 1:00pm so you will have enough time). On Caye Caulker, there are no cars, no fumes and no hassles, just balmy breezes, fresh seafood, azure waters and a fantastic barrier reef at its doorstep.

    Caye Caulker

    Caye Caulker

    Day 11

    Caye Caulker - Chetumal - Tulum (278 km)

    At 6:30am, we will head back to Belize City by a water taxi (1hr), and travel by bus to the border with Mexico (approx. 4hrs). After crossing the border, we head to the Mexican town of Chetumal where we swap buses and head to Tulum. We will make a few stops on the ways with great opportunities to stretch our legs and find some local snacks. Tulum can be separated into 3 areas: Ruins, Town and Beach Strip offers the perfect combination of total relaxation, tranquility and seclusion. We can fill the day with many interesting and rich activities in the area.

      It is the most photogenic site in the region and perhaps the whole country with warm starry nights and clear turquoise waters. One of the most important sites in Tulum is its Mayan ruins, located on a cliff facing the Caribbean Sea.

    Tulum - Coba Ruins - Tulum (83 km)

    This morning we will meet our local representative and take an easy half-hour drive inland from the coastal city of Tulum to the Ruins of Coba. We can climb up to the highest pyramid in Mexico's Maya world and get a breathtaking view. After our visit of Coba, we will plan to stop at the Gran Cenote on the way back toward Tulum for a refreshing dip in the cool, clear water.

      The Coba Ruins was once an important Mayan city. The village is quiet and cute, with a croc-filled lagoon, a series of cenotes, a state's tallest pyramid, a beautiful ball court and a variety of other structures.

    Tulum - Playa Del Carmen (61 km)

    Today we have added a Tulum tour ruins as additional free activity for you in Tulum, and on afternoon you will be transferred from Tulum to Playa Del Carmen by first class public buses.

    Playa Del Carmen

    Today we will head into Playa del Carmen town and take a stroll along the pedestrian Fifth Avenue strip, locally known as Quinta Avenida. By day it's packed with people browsing the shops and boutiques; by night roving musicians entertain diners in the many restaurants and bars.

    Day 15

    Playa del Carmen - Chichen Itza - Merida (275 km)

    Today we will take a local bus heading towards the ruins of Chichen Itza (approx. 4.5 hours). We will go across small villages to see the Mexican Mayaby bus. We have around 2-3 hours to spend at the ruins. After that we will continue to Merida (approx. 2 hours) where we will spend the night.

    Merida (83 km)

    Today we will meet with the local guide at the hotel reception and then go to explore the national archeological site of Uxmal and Kabah.

    Merida - Palenque (646 km)

    Palenque was an important Maya city which flourished. We will visit Palenque ruins for more than 2 hours by ourselves. After that we will head to the Misol Ha Waterfalls, located 20kms from Palenque. We then drive to Agua Azul which is a waterfall complex.

    Palenque - San Cristobal De Las Casas (110 km)

    After breakfast we will take another bus to the city of San Cristobal de las Casas (6hrs), driving through the mountainous terrain. After arrived in San Cristobal, we will check into hotel and have a free afternoon to enjoy own time at the Main Plaza.

    Today we will have some time to explore San Cristobal De Las Casas. If you take a day trip to San Juan Chamula, don't miss the church. We can also have a chance to go for an optional day trip to Sumidero Canyon.

    San Cristobal De Las Casas - Panajachel (396 km)

    Depart from San Cristobal, we will head down to Guatemala by van. It takes about 4 hours to get to the Guatemalan border and another 6 hours to get to our final destination, Panajachel. *Please make sure you take along your passport ready and the driver will give you detailed instructions on what to do once at the border. The vans make one stop before arriving to the border at the city of Comitan for breakfast. We could pack some snacks in advance mainly for the portion after the border as there is only one short stop before arriving into Lake Atitlan.

    Lake Atitlan

    Today, our representatives will meet us at hotel to take a boat tour to three of the many lake side villages around Lake Atitlan, such as San Pedro, Santiago and San Antonio. Later, we will return to our hotel.

    Lake Atitlan - Chichicastenango Market - Antigua (132 km)

    We will meet with the driver at the hotel reception and then go for a short drive to Chichicastenango to shopping through the colorful market where locals buy and sell fruits, vegetables, flowers and etc (Note: Market is only available on Thursdays and Sundays, otherwise we will go straight to Antigua). We will witness ancient rituals at Santo Tomas Church. After lunch we will leave for Antigua and return back home.

      Chichicastenango is a town in the El Quiche department of Guatemala. It is located in a mountainous region about 140 km (87 mi) northwest of Guatemala City. Chichicastenango often hosts market days where vendors sell handicrafts, food, flowers, pottery, wooden boxes and other tools.

      A 400-year-old church built atop a Pre-Columbian temple platform, and the steps originally leading to a temple of the pre-Hispanic Maya civilization remain venerated.
