After pickup from hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, we will journey toward the city of My Tho, located in the Mekong Delta region. On the way there, we will admire the views of the Vietnamese countryside and see fishing villages and floating fish farms. Once we arrive in My Tho, we will visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda before embarking on a leisurely boat tour of the Mekong Delta. We will visit Tortoise Island and have lunch in a local orchard. We will continue to An Khanh, where we will hear Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by locals. We will learn more about the area by visiting some family businesses. Later, we will return to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 5:00pm.

This city on the Mekong Delta has a rich history. It was originally settled by Chinese refugees in the 17th century and became an important strategic location for the French during their colonialist campaign in Vietnam.
Vinh Trang Temple
This beautiful Buddhist temple in My Tho was the site of important historical conflicts between the Vietnamese and invading French colonial forces. There are many old statues on the temple grounds that make for great photograph subjects.
Mekong Delta, Vietnam
This fertile region is formed by the Mekong River's outflow into the Pacific Ocean. There are many islands and rice paddies. It is a great place to take a boat cruise to learn about rural Vietnamese life.
