  • The itinerary was great, but that has nothing to do with Taketour. Some of our hotels did not serve breakfast. Now why would a tour company pick a hotel that does not serve breakfast, especially in Salt Lake City where there are hundreds of other hotels to choose from.

  • Just got home from this tour and I have to say I liked it very much. The tour guide, Leslie, was very professional and friendly and treated me the same as the Chinese passengers. I was the ONLY English-speaking person on the bus however, he treated me equally and fairly. He mainly spoke in Chinese but for the most part he translated the same things in English (his english was good). The bus driver was also professional and friendly. I would say it's the worth the money spent but just be prepared for a lot of traveling in the bus and chinese food and culture. Day 1-LA to Kanab. Nothing much to say here. We get to meet the guide and go to Vegas (for lunch and pick up other people) and then travel to Kanab. Hotel @ Kanab was clean and acceptable. Arrived by 8pm local time. Day 2-Lake Powell/Antelope Canyon/Bryce Canyon/SLC Left the hotel at 7am for this very busy but amazing day. No boat ride @ Powell, not even mentioned. Antelope was awesome and beautiful. Bryce Canyon was also stunning and is a must see. We stayed 1-1.5 hours at each location. We arrived around 7:45pm local time in SLC. Hotel was also clean and acceptable. Day 3- SLC-Jackson Hole-Grand Teton Left the hotel by 7am to go to Jackson Hole. Once we arrived there, we went to the horse wagon ride (not enough snow for the sleigh). It was very beautiful to see the Elk but the weather wasn't ideal (very windy and rainy which made the other passengers upset). I didn't mind one bit. The wagon ride lasted an hour. Afterwards, we went to the Grand Teton for the main entrance only. We didn't actually enter the park at all so not sure why it's even advertised here. I recall the guide saying something about the weather but not too sure. We got to the hotel in Jackson by 4pm (very early). Hotel was very clean and nice. So we had a free evening to explore Jackson Hole, a beautiful small town. Day 4-Jacson Hole Ski Mountain-West Yellowstone. Best day of the trip here. Very fun day. Snow tubing, ski gondola ride, and the Cowboy Coaster (self controlled roller coaster) is very fun. HOWEVER, I must say something. In the itinerary, it mentions that the ski package is optional and doesn't give you another option. However, on the bus, the guide told me that there's actually 2 options here. Snowtubing, gondola ride, coaster ride was $100 (WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE YOU PAY UPFRONT!!). Ski Package (mentioned in this page) is $150. The guide didn't recommend the ski package (which I wasn't going to take anyways) but highly recommended the $100 package. So to my understanding, Day 4 technically is an optional day for the most part but is advertised and presented as MANDATORY. So just prepared to spend $100 for snow fun which is totally worth it! After the fun trip, we went to West Yellowstone, Montana. We arrived by 7:30pm. Hotel was average and acceptable. There was NO Grand Teton in Day 4 either. Day 5-The main event Yellowstone. Left the hotel by 7:30am. We rode a snow coach through the national park. Amazing experience. They timed the Old Faithful Geyser well so we all got to see it erupt. Very beautiful setting. We stayed in Yellowstone for about 5 hours. We arrived in our hotel in Pocatello by 6:30pm. Another average hotel but acceptable. Day 6-Pocatello-SLC-Las Vegas Not a great day for me. We needed to leave the hotel by 5am. I didn't really care to see the State Capitol Building or the Mormon Church but for what it was, it was okay. I went to Vegas many times before so I wasn't too exicted to go there again. I refused all the optional options adveterised here (no penalty)so I was given a free day to walk around Vegas which I did. We got to Vegas around 4pm. I gambled for a bit and dined then went to bed quickly because the next day we needed to leave by 5am again. SLS is a great hotel but no fridge or microwave really sucks. Day 7- Vegas-Grand Canyon-Hoover Dam-Vegas again. Left Vegas at 5am and went to the Grand Canyon West Rim. Amazing experience and very beautiful. I did take the helicopter ride (optional) but it only lasted around 12 minutes. There's another option (airplane tour) which lasts 20 minutes ($129). I wouldn't recommend them. We stayed in Grand Canyon for 3-4 hours. Unforgettable experience! Hoover Dam was a disappointment though, we didn't even set foot in the dam, we saw it from above in the highway. Great view sure but just be aware you're not actually going to the dam itself. Arrived in Vegas again (SLS-same room btw) by 3:30pm. So you can do your shows and additional Vegas fun in Day 7 as well. Day 8-Chocolate Factory-Barstow Outlets- Chocolate Factory not very interesting to me. There's also a cactus/desert plant garden right next to it. Not really my thing though. The Barstow Outlets are there if you want to shop I guess but since I didn't need to shop, the day just dragged. Got to LA by 7pm. Overall, I had fun in this trip and I will forget about the places I visited here. Remember, you are traveling through 6 different states in one week so YES a lot of driving in the bus, bring electronics. Regarding food, I strongly encourage you to bring snacks and plenty of water. In the major meal stops, they will always stop in Chinese buffets. However, in ALL the stops, there were alternative options near by (subway/wendys/american restaurants/etc). You don't have to eat at the buffets. Breakfast is included in all the hotels EXCEPT for the SLS in Las Vegas.
