Lisboa - Obidos - Alcobaca - Nazare - Batalha - Fatima (156 km)
In the morning, guests will be picked up from their Lisbon hotels. We will begin this tour by driving to Obidos through a landscape dotted with windmills and fruit trees. Here, we will admire the well-preserved medieval walls and architecture before we move on to Alcobaca to visit the Gothic Monastery. Then, we will stop in Nazare, a nearby fishing village and seaside resort, before continuing to Batalha, where we will visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria. Afterwards, we will arrive in Fatima to visit the Marian Sanctuary. This is where we will spend the night.
A city and a municipality in Oeste Subregion, region Centro in Portugal. The city became notable after the first king decided to build a church to commemorate the Conquest of Santarem from the Moors in 1147. The church later evolved into the Monastery of Alcobaca.
This church and monastery were the first Gothic buildings in Portugal, founded in 1153. The main components of the complex are the royal tombs, the Chapel of St. Bernard, the royal Pantheon, the sacristy, and more.
