In the afternoon, guests will be picked up from their hotels in London. Today, we will visit St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London, where we will see the Crown Jewels. Then, we will take a River Thames Cruise. In the evening, we will explore the darker side of London to learn about one of the city's most chilling figures: Jack the Ripper! We will visit Theatre Drury Lane, said to be the most haunted theater, then the Old Bailey, once the site of numerous public hangings. We will also drive along Fleet Street, the legendary home of the demon Barber, Sweeney Todd. As our shadows lengthen, we will approach London's East End, a hotbed of crime in the 19th century, where we will follow Jack the Ripper's trail, walking the streets and inspecting the murder sites. We will wrap up at Trafalgar Square. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.
    • London, UNITED KINGDOM

The capital city of both England and the United Kingdom has been a focal point of Western civilization for centuries. This amazing city in the British Isles is famous for places like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey.

      St. Paul's Cathedral

Sitting atop the highest point in London, this cathedral is woven deeply into the national identity of England. Figures such as Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher are buried here, and Princess Diana's wedding took place here, among many other occasions.

      Tower of London

Dating back nearly a millennia, this historic castle on the shores of the Thames in London has served many important functions throughout history. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a museum that is open to the public.

      Thames River Cruise

The River Thames is iconic, a symbol of the city that it cuts through. Now you can take a cruise on the waters of the river and see some of the most iconic locations in London.

      Fleet Street

Although now possibly known best as the home of (fictional) Sweeney Todd, the "Demon Barber of Fleet Street," this area of London is historically important as the center of British publishing from the advent of the press until the 1980s.

      Old Bailey

The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales is a famous building in London. It gets its nickname from the street on which it is located. It has appeared in everything from "Tale of Two Cities" to "Pirates of the Caribbean."

      Theatre Royal, Drury Lane

Usually known simply as "Drury Lane," this is actually the fourth theater on this site with this name. London's premiere theater is now owned by legendary playwright Andrew Lloyd Weber and has been the residency of acts like Monty Python.
