Day 1: New York-Richmond-Henderson (441 miles)

Today we will depart from New York and drive to Richmond, Virginia. We will visit Maymont. It is a 100-acre historic estate and park, located in Richmond, Virginia, with many unique experiences for all to enjoy. Whether strolling in the gardens, touring the mansion, watching a river otter at play, or petting a goat, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

    Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate and park, located in Richmond, Virginia, with many unique experiences for all to enjoy. Stroll through the gardens and arboretum, see native wildlife habitats, feed friendly goats, explore The Robins Nature Center and visit the Mansion.

Day 2: Henderson-Burlington-Blue Ridge Parkway-Grandfather Mountain State Park-Morganton (256 miles)

Today we will first visit Animal Park at the Conservators Center. You can meet the animals on guided tours that allow views from as close as 5 feet away while they learn about the individual animals' personalities and the species they represent. Then we will take a car through the Blue Ridge Parkway. Finally, we will go to Grandfather Mountain! The nature park is home to amazing biodiversity and scenic beauty.

Day 3: Morganton-Mountain Mitchell State Park-Charlotte-Columbia-Charleston (312 miles)

Rise and shine! Today we will head to the highest mountain in eastern North America, Mount Mitchell. Standing on the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of surrounding area. We will then go to the Spectrum Center, the home of the NBA's Charlotte Hornets. Follow us to visit the luxurious venues and feel the fanatical NBA atmosphere! Finally, we will head to the South Carolina State Museum. During the visit, you will learn about the historical development and art culture of South Carolina.

    At 6,684 feet, the mountain is the highest point east of the Mississippi River, and an observation deck provides breathtaking mountain views on a clear day. Easy trails at the summit explore the Fraser fir forest, while a vast network of challenging trails - including the Mountains-to-Sea State Trail - extend into adjacent wilderness areas and lead to backpacking opportunities within Pisgah National Forest.

Step onto the oak moss avenue and visit the original slave cabins, and you will learn about the history of Gullah cultural development! Next, we will have a quick visit to Charleston's Rainbow Row. There are 13 colorful townhouses scattered on the romantic street, so you may get some cool photos here. We will drive north along Interstate 95 and arrive at the South of the Border finallt and stop for it.

Today we will visit the famous USS Wisconsin. This retired battleship has participated in many battles and made great achievements. Our last stop will be the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, known as "one of the seven engineering wonders of the modern world". And you will be amazed by the spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. After the tour, we will return to New York.

  • Bus Arrangement: Usually only passengers in the same order will be arranged in the same bus. If you book the tour separately with your friends and you want to sit in the same bus, you need to inform us before departure . Or you may be arranged in different buses.
  • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.
  • This tour does not accept any City Pass or your own tickets for the attraction. Passengers who take this tour need to purchase admission tickets from tour escort upon arrival.

Confirmation

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

Redemption

  • Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

Terms & Condition

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. The time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through webmail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    15 days or more prior to departure - Free cancellation with full refund. Please reconfirm the penalty for the added hotel or flight ticket.
    8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    Within 7 days prior to departure or no show - 100% of the total purchase amount.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every effort to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure of the tour, TakeTours only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
