Day 1:Hawaii National Volcano Park(210 miles)

Today, we will fly to Big Island, where we will go sightseeing at places like Hawaii National Volcano Park, black sand beaches, orchid gardens, Rainbow Falls and the Macadamia Nut Farm. Then, we will transfer to a hotel in the area.

  • Kalapana Black Sand Beach
    Kalapana Black Sand Beach is a volcanic beach that is also an actively erupting area. The Kalapana Lava Viewing Area allows visitors to see the volcano's activity from a safe distance and watch smoke billow up from the water.

Day 2:Kalapana lava field - Kalapana Black Sand Beaches - Akaka Falls

Start Time: Approx. 9:00am
End Time: Approx. 5:00pm

Today we will take a 30-minute hike to the Kalapana lava field of 1985, then we will drive up the east coast of the Big Island to see the views along the way, and to Puhoiki to see the black sand beaches formed during the latest volcanic eruption in 2018. Then we will get back to Hilo for lunch. In the afternoon we will go to the Akaka Falls on the north shore of the Big Island. Stop at the farmer's market for fresh papayas and other tropical seasonal fruits.
