Itinerary

Day 1:Fortaleza, Brazil - Paraipaba, Brazil(183 km)

In the morning, guests will be picked up from their hotels in Fortaleza. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations. Today, we will travel to Lagoinha Beach, one of the main attractions along the Sol Poente Route. During colonial times, this was a hiding place for French pirates. Today, it is a quiet community of fishermen situated in a majestic place overlooking an exuberant landscape of coconut trees, white sand beaches, and red dunes that welcome lazy waves that lap the shores of this natural bay. The bars and restaurants offer optional boat rides to Lagoa Almecegas, as well as pau-de-arara rides (an open truck used by migrant workers in the area. After a fun, relaxing day on the beach, we will return to Fortaleza, where guests will be returned to their hotels, bringing an end to this tour.
  • Paraipaba, Brazil
    A short drive northwest along the coast from Fortaleza will bring you to Paraipaba, a small beach community that sits on a hill overlooking the ocean. There are also several fresh water lakes in the area.
  • Lagoa Almecegas
    This small inland lagoon is in the municipality of Paraipaba, near Lagoinha Beach. There area hammocks set up along the shore, making this a perfect place to relax for an afternoon.
  • Lagoinha
    The small resort town of Paraipaba overlooks this lovely beach on the northern coast of Brazil, named for the many fresh water lakes in the area. It is a beautiful white sand beach, shaped like a crescent moon.
