Day 1:Cuzco - Quesoyuni - Llamachimpana

Early Pickup & Scenic Drive

Start your adventure with an early pickup from your Cusco accommodation. Sit back and relax as we travel through the picturesque South Valley, watching the vibrant Andean highland landscapes unfold outside your window.

Lunch in Picturesque Pitumarca

We’ll stop for a hearty lunch in the charming town of Pitumarca, allowing you to refuel and prepare for the exciting day ahead.

Trailhead Arrival in Quesoyuni (4,326 m / 14,189 ft)

After lunch, we continue our journey to Quesoyuni, the starting point of our trek. Breathe in the crisp mountain air as you get ready to step onto the trail.

Village Trek & Wildlife Encounters (Approx. 3–4 hours hiking)

Begin your hike through traditional Andean villages, where you may encounter local residents going about their daily lives. Keep an eye out for native wildlife such as chinchillas and wandering vicuñas—the wild and graceful relatives of the llama.

Arrival at Llamachimpana Camp (Highest Elevation: 4,598 m / 15,082 ft)

After a rewarding 3–4 hour trek covering approximately 4 km (2.5 miles), we arrive at our campsite near the village of Llamachimpana.

Starry Night & Restful Sleep

As night falls, settle into camp and enjoy a peaceful evening beneath a brilliant blanket of stars, surrounded by the quiet majesty of the mountains.

Day 2:Llamachimpana - Vinicunca - Llamachimpana - Cuzco(80 km)

Rainbow Mountain Sunrise Ascent

5:00 AM – Early Start

Begin your day with an early start and a hearty breakfast before embarking on an exhilarating ascent of Vinicunca, also known as Rainbow Mountain. Witness the stunning sunrise illuminating the vibrant, multicolored slopes and sweeping views of the majestic Andes—truly a photographer’s dream.

Red Valley Viewpoint Adventure

Continue onward to the breathtaking Red Valley viewpoint, located approximately 30 minutes from Rainbow Mountain. This lesser-visited area showcases dramatic crimson landscapes, offering a striking contrast and exceptional photo opportunities.

Scenic Lagoon Descent

Begin your descent along a spectacular trail that passes two tranquil high-altitude lagoons: Cochayoc and Yanacocha. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and expansive mountain scenery during this approximately three-hour trek back to Llamachimpana.

Well-Deserved Local Lunch

Upon arrival at Llamachimpana, enjoy a well-earned local lunch, allowing you to rest and recharge after a morning filled with unforgettable natural wonders.

Return to Cusco

In the afternoon, journey back to Cusco, reflecting on an extraordinary high-altitude adventure that will leave lasting memories.
