If you would prefer to, you can ride a snowmobile instead. Once in the park, we'll follow the Madison River east, stopping whenever we see anything of interest. Where we stop will depend on the guide, but options include the Lower Geyser Basin, which is home to Fountain Paint Pot, the Midway Geyser Basin, Black Sand Basin, and Biscuit Basin. Next we will arrive at the Old Faithful. We can buy some lunch here and watch Old Faithful. Afterwards, we will return to West Yellowstone.

Three miles north of Old Faithful is Biscuit Basin, named for the unusual biscuit-like deposits formerly surrounding Sapphire Pool. Following the 1959 Hebgen Lake earthquake, Sapphire erupted, and the "biscuits" were blown away.

      Old Faithful Geyser

Old Faithful is a cone geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. It is one of the park's most well-known natural features, and is famous for its predictability. It generally erupts every 91 minutes.
