Day 1: San Antonio - Houston(189 miles)

In the morning, we will go to the Alamo Mission. Next, the Buckhorn Museum features wildlife from all over the world. At Historic Market Square we will have a chance to explore over 100 locally owned shops and stalls. Also, we will go to the 750-foot-tall Tower of the Americas provides guests the most spectacular view of the Alamo City.

    The Alamo

    The Alamo, originally a Roman Catholic mission, was the site of a famous historic battle in 1836 in which the Mexican army laid siege to the building that was defended by a small group of Texans.

    The Buckhorn Saloon and Texas Ranger Museum

    Located right in the heart of downtown San Antonio, we are two blocks from the Alamo and one block from the Riverwalk. For over 131 years, The Buckhorn Saloon has been known as a gathering place for good conversation, great food and spectacular wildlife exhibits. Today, the saloon houses a Café, Gift Shop, Shooting Gallery and our two museums, the Buckhorn Museum and the Texas Ranger Museum.

    Tower of the Americas

    The Tower of the Americas is a 750-foot (230-meter) observation tower-restaurant located in the Hemisfair district on the southeastern portion of Downtown San Antonio, Texas, United States. The tower was designed by San Antonio architect O'Neil Ford and was built as the theme structure of the 1968 World's Fair, HemisFair '68.

Day 2: Houston - New Orleans(317 miles)

Today, we will drive from Houston to New Orleans. Once we are outside of the Big Easy, we will visit the Oak Alley Plantation. We will also go on an adventurous swamp tour to explore the unique ecosystem of the bayou and spot animals like alligators, snakes, turtles, herons and more. Next, we will head to our hotel in the French Quarter before taking the rest of the day to explore the city. Bourbon Street offers countless live jazz clubs, and there is no shortage of great restaurants around Jackson Square.

Day 4: Houston

As we explore Houston today, our first stop will be at Battleship Texas. Then, we will visit the San Jacinto Monument, the world's tallest masonry column. The bulk of our day will be spent at the NASA Space Center, where we will learn all about human advancements in space travel.

    San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site

    The San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site includes the location of the Battle of San Jacinto, and the USS Texas. It is located off the Houston Ship Channel in unincorporated Harris County, Texas near the city of Houston. The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960.

    NASA Johnson Space Center

    This facility in Houston is where NASA conducts human spaceflight training, research, and flight control simulations to prepare astronauts who are preparing to go into the vast expanse of space.

Day 5: Dallas - Fort Worth(31 miles)

Today we will visit Fort Worth. First, we will go to Fort Worth Water Gardens, and spend some time where President Kennedy gave his last speech. At night we can take an optional Rodeo Night Tour. Stay overnight in Fort Worth.

    The Fort Worth Water Gardens, built in 1974, is located on the south end of downtown Fort Worth between Houston and Commerce Streets next to the Fort Worth Convention Center. The 4.3 acre (1.7 hectare) Water Gardens were designed by noted New York architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee and were dedicated to the City of Fort Worth by the Amon G. Carter Foundation.

    Dealey Plaza, in the historic West End district of downtown Dallas, Texas (U.S.), is the location of the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.

    Sixth Floor Museum

    (Outside Visit) Named for its location on the sixth floor of the Dallas County Administration Building in downtown Dallas, this museum is dedicated to the life of President John F. Kennedy, whose assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, shot and killed the president.

    Pioneer Plaza

    Pioneer Plaza is a large public park located in the Convention Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). It contains a large sculpture and is a heavily visited tourist site. Adjacent to the plaza is the Pioneer Park Cemetery which features the Confederate War Memorial.

    City Hall

    (Outside Visit) Dallas City Hall is the seat of Dallas municipal government, located at 1500 Marilla in the Government District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). The current building, the city's fifth city hall, was completed in 1978 and replaced the Dallas Municipal Building.

    George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum

    Located on the campus of Southern Methodist University, this presidential center opened in 2013. It features the second largest presidential library in the country and contains the offices of the George W. Bush foundation.

Today, we will visit Austin, the capital of Texas. We will have the chance to tour inside the State Capitol Building and visit the campus of the University of Texas.After that, we will pass by the Hope Outdoor Gallery before making our way to San Antonio. When we arrive, guests can choose to end the tour early; alternatively, they can take a night tour of the city and visit the Friendship Tower before ending the tour.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    Up to 46 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    21-45 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    8-20 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    1-7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your account. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 10% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.

Additional Note

  • Note: according to the Texas State Park official website, the Battleship Texas, San Jacinto Monument and San Jacinto Battleground have been closed due to air pollution and road closures caused by the Texas tank explosion. It is temporarily scheduled to be open to the public again on April 28, 2019 (subject to the notice of the Texas State Park official website).
  • Tour route may be changed and reversed; you may contact the vendor 1-2 days prior departure to confirm final itinerary
  • Customers are held solely responsible for their own travel documents and/or visas if required.
  • Luggage: Each customer may bring on board one checked luggage plus one carry-on bag.
  • Bus Arrangement: Usually only passengers in the same order will be arranged in the same bus. If you book the tour separately with your friends and you want to sit in the same bus, you need to inform us before departure . Or you may be arranged in different buses.
  • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.
  • This tour does not accept any City Pass or your own tickets for the attraction. Passengers who take this tour need to purchase admission tickets from tour escort upon arrival.
