    San Francisco

    Today we will gather in San Francisco. Guests should meet our tour guide in front of the Information Center at Terminal 2 for transfer to the hotel. Please see " Departures and Returns" for more info.

    Day 2

    San Francisco - Stanford University - San Francisco (55 miles)

    In the morning, the tour group will visit the Stanford University. After then, we go inside the San Francisco city via Silicon Valley area. The first stop of SF city tour will be Twin Peaks, where you are able to appreciate a panorama view of this amazing city. Afterwards, you will see the fantastic Palace of Fine Arts, and the landmark SF Golden Gate Bridge. At lunch time, we will stop by the famous Fisherman's Wharf Pier 39. You can choose to take a boat ride at your own expense around the beautiful SF Bay area enjoy the scenic views of the SF City Skyline, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and the special pier with hundreds of joyful sea lions. In the afternoon, you can choose to join our Extensive City Tour at your own expense. This in-depth tour of the city will bring travelers to other famous sightseeing points in SF, such as: Cable Car, Lombard Street, City Hall, St. Mary's Cathedral, and Chinatown in San Francisco.

      The grandiosely-named Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California is a huge, ornate outdoor structure that is part of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Its amazing architecture has made it popular for weddings and photography.

      The iconic arches of San Francisco, California's Golden Gate Bridge are known the world over as a symbol of California and the San Francisco Bay area. From movies to postcards, the Golden Gate Bridge is an American icon.

      Fisherman's Wharf

      This San Francisco neighborhood is a popular tourist area due to its lovely scenery and abundance of shops, restaurants, museums, and other attractions. The area also hosts several annual events, such as a July 4th fireworks show.

      San Francisco Bay Cruise

    Day 3

    San Francisco - Yosemite National Park - Los Angeles (430 miles)

    After departing from San Francisco in the morning, we will make our way back to Los Angeles via a stop at the magnificent Yosemite National Park, where we will see many of the park's most famous sights. We will arrive in Los Angeles in the late evening.
    • Yosemite National Park, CA

      Yosemite is one of the wonders of Nature. It is located near the geographical center of the Nevada mountain range. Towering granite rocks, mighty waterfalls and placid valleys give Yosemite all the aspects of a "land of the gods".

      If U.S. National Park Service announces closure of major roads that lead to Yosemite National Park due to extreme weather condition such as heavy snow, we will then use two replacement scenic sites Paso Robles Winery and Solvang -Danish Village to replace Yosemite National Park. Mandatory fees will not be refunded.

      El Capitan

      This granite cliff on the north side of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park is world-famous as a challenge for rock climbers. The top can also be reached by taking a hiking trail out of Yosemite Valley.

      Yosemite Falls

      The Yosemite Falls tumble down in three separate sections. In addition to being the tallest waterfall in North America, the Yosemite Falls are the seventh-tallest in the world. The falls process the most water during the springtime.

      Tunnel View

      One of Yosemite National Park's most popular outlooks, the Tunnel View near the Wawona Tunnel is often the first look at some of the famous formations visitors get. The site was renovated and re-dedicated in October of 2008.

      Half Dome

      The Half Dome is one of the most recognizable formations in California's Yosemite National Park. It is known the world over as a challenging and rewarding hiking and mountain climbing location, attracting thousands of adventurers every year.

    Today we will tour the city of Los Angeles, CA. Along the way, we will take a tour of Beverly Hills Stars' Homes Tour (fee included) and the California Science Center (fee included). We will also visit the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, the Griffith Observatory, Hollywood Boulevard and Olvera Street. We will see some of the most famous locations, and maybe even spot a celebrity or two.
    • Los Angeles, CA

      L.A. is the second largest city in the U.S. and is located on the west coast of California. It providing plenty of things to see and do. Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Staples Center, Little Tokyo, Walt Disney Music and Concert Hall and Griffith Observatory.

      Beverly Hills

      One of LA's most famous neighborhoods, Beverly Hills is so well-known that even its area code, 90210, has become iconic. Countless wealthy celebrities own the beautiful houses in this area.

      California Science Center

      This dynamic, interactive museum in LA, designed by famous architect Frank Gehry. It features many exhibits on various air and space craft, and even houses pieces of various Mercury and Apollo project vessels.

      Griffith Observatory

      The Griffith Observatory overlooks the city of Los Angeles from the slopes of Mount Lee, full of astronomical and other scientific themed exhibits. Since its opening in the 1930s, admission has been free.

      Staples Center

      Home to some of LA's best sports teams - the Sparks of the WNBA, the Lakers and Clippers of the NBA, the Kings of the NHL - the Staples Center is a major sports arena that was opened in 1999.

      Hollywood Boulevard

      This internationally famous neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles attracts a litany of tourists every year to its iconic hills. With a seemingly endless supply of famous landmarks, shops, and eateries, visitors will be floored by this centerpiece of cinema.

      Walt Disney Concert Hall

      The Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles was opened in 2003. Its dramatic exterior architecture has quickly turned it into a recognizable landmark, and it is home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.

      Olvera Street

      This pedestrian mall in downtown LA is the oldest part of the city. Now a historic state landmark, Olvera Street is home to many craft shops and Mexicali restaurants. There are many kiosks lining the street as well.

    Disney's California Adventure

    Today, we will spend our day in Disney's California Adventure. A tour guide will NOT accompany guests inside the park.

      A sister-park to Disneyland in Anaheim, Disney's California Adventure was founded to celebrate the state's history, with tributes to old Hollywood, its beautiful national parks, and other famous locations in California.

    Option 3:

    Los Angeles - Palm Springs - Los Angeles (213 miles)

    In the morning, we will leave Los Angeles for the city of Palm Springs, CA, where we will visit the Desert Hill Premium Outlets for some bargain shopping. After a full-day shopping spree, we will return to LA.

      The city of Palm Springs in southeastern California is a desert resort with many recreational activities for those with active lifestyles. It is also the home of the star-studded Palm Springs International Film Festival, which occurs every January.

      Desert Hill Premium Outlets

      A shopping complex in southern California, the Desert Hill Outlets offer the best deals on designer goods, such as Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace, among many other impressive fashion outlets.

    Option 4:

    Universal Studios

    Today, our first stop is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Then, we will head to Universal Studios theme park and movie studio for the rest of the day.

      Universal Studios, a titan of the American film industry, operates a theme park in Los Angeles that features several rides based off of beloved films and behind-the-scenes movie set tours.

    Option 5:

    San Diego SeaWorld & Harbor Cruise (241 miles)

    In the morning, we will leave Los Angeles for San Diego, where guests will have the chance to take a Cruise of San Diego Harbor. After, we will visit SeaWorld San Diego. We will return to LA for the night.
    • San Diego, CA

      One of the largest cities in the country is San Diego, California. This beautiful city sits on the Pacific Ocean in southern California, not far from the Mexican border. Come visit SeaWorld, or just enjoy the sights and sounds!

      San Diego Harbor Cruise

      Enjoy a boat ride across one of the most impressive natural harbors in North America. Types of cruises available include cocktail dinners and sightseeing tours of the bay. These cruises are a ticket to fun, history, and relaxation.

      SeaWorld San Diego

      The original SeaWorld park, SeaWorld San Diego is home to dolphins, walruses, polar bears, and over 300 penguins. In addition to animals, the park also has several rides, including two roller coasters and a log flume.

    Option 6:

    Los Angeles - Oxnard - Santa Barbara - Los Angeles (194 miles)

    In the morning, we will drive along famous Highway One out of downtown Los Angeles until we reach Oxnard, famous for its numerous strawberry fields. After passing through, we will continue to lovely Santa Barbara where we will see intoxicating exotic scenery in this pearl of the Pacific. While we are in the area, we will stop by State Street to visit many local shops and the famous County Courthouse. In the afternoon, we will board an Seaview Train that will return us to Los Angeles, providing us with a an opportunity to admire the impeccable beauty of California's coast.
    • Oxnard, CA

      This town northwest of Los Angeles on the Pacific coast is a large agricultural center for strawberries and lima beans. Given its position on the California riviera, the beaches of Oxnard aer picturesque and filled with fun.
    • Santa Barbara, CA

      Santa Barbara, also known as the "American Riviera", is just 90 miles north of Los Angeles. Its natural beauty, pristine beaches, local-inspired gourmet cuisine, and nearby vineyards have been beckoning Southern Californians for years.

      State Street

      This is one of the major streets that runs north-south through downtown Santa Barbara, home to some of the city's best shops and restaurants. Visitors could spend an entire afternoon walking up and down the blocks!

      Santa Barbara County Courthouse

      This courthouse was constructed in 1929 to serve as main judiciary center in Santa Barbara. Its design resembles the iconic white adobe and red-tiled roofs of the local Spanish-influenced architecture.

      Seaview Train

      Boarding an Amtrak train in Santa Barbara, you will take a short ride south to Los Angeles along the iconic and beautiful Southern California coastline, gazing out at the immense beauty of the sprawling Pacific Ocean.

    Option 7:

    Los Angeles - San Diego - Los Angeles (240 miles)

    In the morning, guests will be picked up in Los Angeles at the specified departure location. Afterwards, we will depart for San Diego to enjoy a full day in this exciting city. When we arrive, we will embark on a Naval Cruise to see the most important sites used by the U.S. Navy in the Port of San Diego. Then we will visit the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, Balboa Park, and Old Town San Diego, before returning to Los Angeles, where the tour will eventually end.       Naval Cruise

      On this cruise, you will sail the waters of the Port of San Diego and see the most important U.S. naval sites in the area, from statues and monuments to ships themselves, like aircraft carriers, frigates and hospital ships.

      USS Midway Museum

      The USS Midway Museum is a maritime museum located on the Navy Pier in downtown San Diego. Much like the Intrepid in New York City, the museum consists of a decommissioned aircraft carrier that has become an educational facility.

From there, we will make our way to Las Vegas, NV, where we will have some time to explore the Las Vegas Strip before heading to Richfield, UT for the night.

    Today we will travel to Arches National Park. After exploring this vast desert landscape, we will travel to Denver for the night.

      Delicate Arch

      The most famous landmark in Utah's most famous park, this amazing red-sandstone natural arch is a longtime symbol of Arches National Park as well as the state of Utah. It has appeared on stamps, coins, and license plates.

    Denver - Crazy Horse - Mt.Rushmore - Devil's Tower - Gillette (567 miles)

    In the morning we will depart from Denver and travel into South Dakota, arriving at the Crazy Horse Memorial. Next we will visit the iconic Mount Rushmore. In the afternoon, we will visit Devil's Tower before continuing on to Gillette, WY, for the night.

      The first declared United States National Monument. It'is an igneous intrusion or laccolith located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County. A monolithic rock formation that rises 1,267 feet above the surrounding land and was once the neck of an active volcano.

      This massive monolith in the Black Hills of Wyoming was the nation's first national monument, anointed by Teddy Roosevelt in 1906. In recent years, climbing the rock has become popular. The stone column is considered sacred by many Native Americans.

    Gillette - Yellowstone National Park (347 miles)

    Today we will travel to Yellowstone National Park. We will enter from the north side, first visiting the Mammoth Hot Springs. Next, we will head to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, where we will see the Lower Yellowstone Falls from the famous Artist Point. Before checking into the hotel for the evening, we will see the Mud Volcano Area.

      Mammoth Hot Springs

      Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

      This impressive gap in the earth in the first large canyon on the Yellowstone River. It is 24 miles long, and can reach a quarter-mile in depth and 3/4 a mile in width. It is gorgeously colored.

      Lower Yellowstone River Falls

      The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River in Wyoming are the largest by volume in the Rocky Mountains of the western United States, and they stand more than 300 feet tall-- almost twice as high as Niagara Falls.

      Artist Point

      Named after the famous sketches of the waterfalls by Thomas Moran (but not actually the location where the sketched were done) this beautiful location showcases one of the most famous views in Yellowstone National Park.

      Mud Volcano Area

      The Mud Volcano blew itself apart in the early 20th century, but visitors can still see the impressive crater and other geothermal features in the surrounding area, such as the Mud Cauldron, Black Dragon's Caldron, and Dragon's Mouth Spring.

    After breakfast, we will continue to explore Yellowstone National Park. Then, we will travel along the Snake River to Grand Teton National Park. After spending some time at this amazing park, we will head to Salt Lake City, UT for the night via a stop in Jackson Hole, WY.

    In the morning we will explore Salt Lake City, UT. After visiting the Utah State Capitol, the Salt Lake Temple and the Great Salt Lake. After, we will travel to Las Vegas, NV. Here, guests are invited to take an optional night tour of the city.

      Mormon Temple

      This 250,000-square-foot temple is the largest of the temples belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known colloquially as the Mormons. The public cannot tour the interior, but the facade is a sight to behold.

    Early morning we will head toward the M&M Chocolate factory. At the chocolate factory you can taste some of the famous specialty chocolates. Take the included onsite tour and you can see the process of making chocolates. After lunch, we will go to Barstow Outlet for brand name shopping. In the early evening we will return to Los Angeles.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.

    Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

    Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.

    Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)

    • 8-14 days or more prior to departure - 30% of total purchase amount.
    • 4-7 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

    Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
