    San Francisco

    Today we will gather in San Francisco. Guests should meet our tour guide in front of the Information Center at Terminal 2 for transfer to the hotel. Please see " Departures and Returns" for more info.

    San Francisco City Tour - Berkeley University - Pier 39 (98 miles)

    In the morning, we will take Extensive City Tour : visit Cable Car, Lombard Street, City Hall, St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco. Then, we will stop by the Fisherman's Wharf - take a San Francisco Bay Cruise and visit the Aquarium of the Bay. After that, we will visit Palace of fine arts and the Golden Gate Bridge. After the extensive San Francisco tour, we would head to Berkeley University.

      The grandiosely-named Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California is a huge, ornate outdoor structure that is part of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Its amazing architecture has made it popular for weddings and photography.

      Golden Gate Bridge

      The American Society of Civil Engineers considers the Golden Gate Bridge one of the wonders of the modern world. It has been speculated that it is the most photographed bridge in the world; it's certainly one of the most picturesque.

    Modesto - Yosemite National Park - Los Angeles (upgrade hotel) (364 miles)

    After departing from San Francisco in the morning, we will make our way back to Los Angeles via a stop at the magnificent Yosemite National Park, where we will see many of the park's most famous sights. We will arrive in Los Angeles in the late evening.

      Yosemite is one of the wonders of Nature. It is located near the geographical center of the Nevada mountain range. Towering granite rocks, mighty waterfalls and placid valleys give Yosemite all the aspects of a "land of the gods".

      El Capitan

      This granite cliff on the north side of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park is world-famous as a challenge for rock climbers. The top can also be reached by taking a hiking trail out of Yosemite Valley.

      Yosemite Falls

      The Yosemite Falls tumble down in three separate sections. In addition to being the tallest waterfall in North America, the Yosemite Falls are the seventh-tallest in the world. The falls process the most water during the springtime.

      One of Yosemite National Park's most popular outlooks, the Tunnel View near the Wawona Tunnel is often the first look at some of the famous formations visitors get. The site was renovated and re-dedicated in October of 2008.

    St. George - Antelope Canyon - Horseshoe Bend - Salt Lake City (430 miles)

    In the morning, travelers will see the sunrise while on the way to the Page. Arizona. Then, all travelers will have the opportunity to take a visit to Glen Canyon Dam. The next highlight will be the Antelope Canyon. Finally, all travelers will have a chance to overlook the breathtaking and awe-inspiring Horseshoe Bend. Overnight in Salt Lake City.

      Page is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Page was founded in 1957 as a housing community for workers and their families during the construction of nearby Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River.

      Glen Canyon Dam

      This concrete arch dam in northern Arizona barricades the Colorado River and creates Lake Powell, the second-largest man-made lake in the country. Lake Powell is a haven for water-skiers and boaters, and is also popular with fishermen.

      Horseshoe Bend

      Horseshoe Bend is a curve in the Colorado River, about 5 miles from Lake Powell. The view from the overlook above offers a wide angle of this colorful canyon and tight curve.

      The most popular slot canyon in the American Southwest is Antelope Canyon Lower Antelope Canyon is in the shape of a "V" and shallower than the Upper Antelope.

    Salt Lake City - Jackson - Grand Teton - Yellowstone (330 miles)

    In the morning, we will head to the small town of Jackson, WY. Afterwards we will head into Grand Teton National Park to take in the view of Jackson Lake and Teton Peak. From there, we will take you into the Yellowstone National Park. We will see 10 of Yellowstone's major scenery sites over the spans of 2 days, including Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone Lake and Fountain Paint Pot. Spend the night in West Yellowstone.
    • Jackson Hole, WY

      Famous frontier town, located at the crossing of Grand Teton and Rocky Mountains, it became a heaven for outdoors sports enthusiast. The widely praised Elk Antler Arches Park, with its four arches made with thousands of elk antlers is a must see.
    • Grand Teton National Park, WY

      Grand Teton National Park is is located in the Rocky Mountains, Northwest Wyoming. Grand Teton National Park is noted for its stunning mountain vistas, its shimmering alpine lakes and its abundant wildlife.

      Grand Teton and Jackson Hole not available for visit before May 11th and we will visit Bear World and Idaho Fall instead.

    • Yellowstone, WY

      Yellowstone is the home to world's largest super volcano and over 10,000 natural landscapes. Yellowstone is well known for its geysers, hot springs, fumaroles and mud pots.

      Old Faithful Geyser

      Yellowstone National Park's famous geyser Old Faithful has been called the most predictable geographical feature in the world. Its reliability has been documented since 1870, when Minnesotan explorer Nathaniel P. Langford gave it its now-world-famous moniker.

      Grand Prismatic Hot Spring

      The third largest hot spring in the world, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring gets its color from bacteria around its rim that feed off of the mineral-rich water. In the summer months, the hot spring is a vivid red-orange shade.

      Fountain Paint Pot

      Fountain Paint Pot, heated by the region's underground hot springs, F.P.P is half hot spring, half mud basin. The spring releases natural shades of red and yellow because of the oxidation of iron in the soil.

      Yellowstone Lake

      At 7,732 feet in the air, Yellowstone Lake is the largest freshwater lake above 7,000 feet in all of North America. This large, crystalline lake is a hotbed of geothermal activity and also contains underwater hot springs.

    Day 8

    Yellowstone - Buffalo Bill Dam - Gillette (273 miles)

    In the morning we will continue our tour inside Yellowstone National Park, visiting Norris Basin, Yellowstone Canyon, Yellowstone Waterfall, Mud Volcano, Fishing Bridge, Hayden valley. After we all finished those amazing attractions, will exit the park from the east entrance to Buffalo Bill Dam. We will arrive and spend the night at Gillette, Wyoming.

      Norris Geyser Basin

      Yellowstone National Park is full of areas like this - geyser basins - large, open areas where geothermic pressure from below the ground's surface force up various geysers and springs. The Norris Basin is one of the more accessible.

      Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

      This impressive gap in the earth in the first large canyon on the Yellowstone River. It is 24 miles long, and can reach a quarter-mile in depth and 3/4 a mile in width. It is gorgeously colored.

      Upper Yellowstone Falls

      Located a quarter-mile upstream of the larger Lower Falls, the Upper Yellowstone River Falls plunge 109 feet down an eroded lava cliff into the basin below. The area below the falls has been subject to heavier erosion than above.

      Mud Volcano Area

      The Mud Volcano blew itself apart in the early 20th century, but visitors can still see the impressive crater and other geothermal features in the surrounding area, such as the Mud Cauldron, Black Dragon's Caldron, and Dragon's Mouth Spring.

      Fishing Bridge

      Located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River, the Fishing Bridge is a great location to spot the native Cutthroat trout. There is an RV park of the same name nearby.
    • Cody, WY

      Named for William Cody (AKA Buffalo Bill), who helped found the town, this small city in Wyoming lies to the east of Yellowstone National Park. Many parts of Cody still have the feel of the Old West.

      Buffalo Bill Dam

      Named after the famous Western showman, this dam is part of the Shoshone Project which irrigates the Bighorn Basin for crop production in the region. Standing at 325 feet high, Buffalo Bill Dam is as much an engineering site as it is scenic.

      Buffalo Bill Dam not available for visit before May 4th and we will visit Mammoth Hot Springs instead.

    Gillette - Devil's Tower - Mount Rushmore - Crazy Horse - Casper (424 miles)

    Arrive at Devil's Tower in the morning and see this famous Wyoming landmark. Afterwards we'll head into South Dakota to visit the Mount Rushmore Memorial. After lunch, we will arrive at the Crazy Horse Memorial. Enjoy the view of the endless grassy fields of Wyoming as we traffic to Casper to spend the night.
    • Devils Tower, WY

      The first declared United States National Monument. It'is an igneous intrusion or laccolith located in the Black Hills near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County. A monolithic rock formation that rises 1,267 feet above the surrounding land and was once the neck of an active volcano.

      Devils Tower National Monument

      This massive monolith in the Black Hills of Wyoming was the nation's first national monument, anointed by Teddy Roosevelt in 1906. In recent years, climbing the rock has become popular. The stone column is considered sacred by many Native Americans.
    • Mount Rushmore National Memorial, SD

      Mt Rushmore National Memorial is one of the most iconic National Memorials in the world. Four of the nation's most cherished Presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln carved into the face of Mt Rushmore.
    • Crazy Horse, SD

      Crazy Horse Memorial is the world's largest sculpture-in-progress, and frequent drilling and mountain blasts make each visit unique. When completed, Crazy Horse Memorial will stand 563 feet tall by 641 feet long.

      Crazy Horse Memorial

      This in-construction monument to famous Native American war hero Crazy Horse is currently being carved into the side of Thunderhead Mountain in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The completed sculpture would be the largest in the world.

    Casper - Park City - Salt Lake City (421 miles)

    We will arrive first at Independence Rock. We will get to Utah around noon time and take you to see the Olympic Village for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Park City. In the afternoon we will see the State Capitol building, Temple Square of Mormon Church and the Great Salt Lake when we get to Salt Lake City.
    • Casper, WY

      Casper is a city in and the county seat of Natrona County, Wyoming, United States. Casper is also called "The Oil City" and has a long history of oil boomtown and cowboy culture. In 2010, Casper was named the highest-ranked family-friendly small city in the West, and ranked eighth overall in the nation in Forbes magazine's list of "the best small cities to raise a family".

      Independence Rock

      This granite monolith sits in the Independence Rock State Historic Site in central Wyoming. The rock served as an important landmark for those travelling west via the Oregon Trail in the middle of the 19th century.
    • Park City, UT

      This quaint little mountain town got its start as a mining settlement. These days, it annually hosts the Sundance Film Festival, founded by actor and director Robert Redford. In the winter, it is a popular ski destination.

      Utah Olympic Park

      This sports park was made for the 2002 Winter Olympics, featuring components for several of the different events: jumps for skiing, bobsled tracks, and luge tracks. It now serves as a training center for would-be Olympians.

      A member of the National Register of Historic Places, the Utah State Capitol has been standing since 1916. Adorned with columns and a dramatic dome, the neoclassical style is the same as the famous national Capitol building in Washington.

    Today guests may choose to go to either the South Rim (home to Grand Canyon National Park) OR the West Rim (home to the Eagle Point, Guano Point and Skywalk Glass Bridge) of the Grand Canyon. (Customers have to choose either Grand Canyon South or Grand Canyon West, or otherwise, customers may choose to spend some leisure time at Las Vegas and have to pay the additional cash $30 per person to the tour guide) At the end of the day, we will return to Las Vegas.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.

    Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

    Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of the reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Take tours for details.

    Cancellation penalties per person (Notification day and departure day are not counted)

    • 30 or more days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount
    • 15-29 days or more prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
    • 8-14 days prior to departure - 30% of total purchase amount.
    • 4-7 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    • Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    • Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    • Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    • Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    • There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

    Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strive to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods, duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    Tour Cancellation:
    We reserve the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

    We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
