    Pricing Policy

    • Child Rate: Child rates apply to those 5 to 11 years and using existing bedding with 2 full-paying passengers (regardless of ages). Children under 5 years old are free of charge. All expenses for children under 5 (cribs, rollaway bed, meals, etc.) are payable locally.

    Day 1

    Arrival in San Francisco (Dinner include)

    Arrival in San Francisco. Check in for two nights at The Handlery Union Square Hotel or Tuscan Inn Fisherman's Wharf . Afternoon free for exploring the city, Fisherman's Wharf or riding cable cars, etc. Dinner tonight at your choice of Italian or French Restaurant.

    Day 2

    Sonoma - Napa Valley (104 miles)

    Option A: Sonoma and Napa

    Going to Sonoma and Napa Valley Wine Country tour cross the Golden Gate Bridge, visit the historic square in Sonoma. Time for lunch on your own. Then to Napa Valley. Visit two or three wineries. Return to the city via Oakland Bay Bridge.

    Option B: Muir Woods and Sausalito

    Take Muir Woods and Sausalito tour at 8:30am. Across the Golden Gate Bridge visit Giant Redwood trees in Muir Woods. On to Sausalito a Mediterranean type village. Return by Ferry boat or motor coach.

    Day 3

    San Francisco - Monterey (Dinner and Breakfast Included) (86 miles)

    We will leave San Francisco around 9:00 a.m. Driving via Half Moon Bay or through Silicon Valley to Castroville. We will see miles of artichoke and strawberry fields with beautiful views of Monterey Bay. By midday stop at Cannery Row allowing time for lunch. Then we will drive along the seaside flower gardens of Pacific Grove to 17 Mile Drive. After a stop at Pebble Beach, we will continue to Carmel by the Sea the idyllic village with its art galleries and cottages set in Pine trees. We will arrive at hotel by 5:30pm.
    • Monterey, CA

      Monterey was the capital of Alta California under both Spain and Mexico. It was the only port of entry for taxable goods in California. In 1846 the U.S. flag was raised over the Customs House, and California became part of the United States after the ensuing Mexican-American War.

      Monterey Bay

      The famous Californian Monterey Bay is world-renown for its beauty and wildlife. In addition to the scenic routes that huge the bay's shorelines, visitors can see animals like otters, bottlenose dolphins, and if they're lucky, even humpback whales.

      Cannery Row

      This street made famous by the John Steinbeck novel of the same name was once the center of Monterey's fishing industry. Today, it is a tourist attraction and conservation area home to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and many seal lions.

      17-Mile Drive

      This breathtaking stretch of coastline along California's Monterey Peninsula takes visitors through a maze of beautiful scenery, unique wildlife, and amazing mansions. Enjoy shopping and dining along the way in addition to taking in the vistas.

    Monterey - Hearst Castle - San Luis Obispo (118 miles)

    Driving south on Big Sur Highway One to Bixby Bridge we will continue to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park to see the Giant Coastal Redwoods. Along one of the most scenic highways in the world stops will be made at scenic turnouts to see the mighty Pacific crashing on the cliffs. At San Simeon we will tour Hearst Castle and see the movie "Building the Dream". Built by Julia Morgan during the 1920s and 1930s for the art collection of world famous newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst this 2 hour tour is ideal for first time visitors with an easy walk, a total of about 150 steps. Via coastal villages and Morro Bay we will reach San Luis Obispo at about 4:30pm.
    • San Simeon, CA

      Hearst Castle

      Hearst Castle is a mansion located on the central coast of California that is a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1919 for William Randolph Hearst, the mansion is more than 90,000 square feet in area.

    San Luis Obispo - Los Angeles (161 miles)

    Morning free in this city of Cal Poly State University and and the beautifully preserved Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. Then board The Coast Starlight at 3:20p.m. Via Pismo Beach to Pt. Arguello through restricted Vandenberg Air Force Base you can see launch pads for the space rockets and then some of the most scenic ocean views. At about 9:00pm we will arrive in Los Angeles at the Union Station.

    Grand tour of Los Angeles & Movie Stars' Home (about 8 hours)

    See Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive, Melrose, Sunset Strip, Farmers Market, Olvera Street, Chinatown, The Music Center and the Griffith Park Observatory and Movie Stars' Homes in Beverly Hills and Bel Air.

      Sunset Strip

      Hollywood's Sunset Strip is home to an wildly exciting nightlife, including some of the city's most famous clubs, best shops and boutiques, as well as countless restaurants. There is perhaps no better street in the country to spot celebrities.

      Farmers Market

      More than just a historic Los Angeles location, the city's Farmers Market is a wonderful place to buy produce and other foodstuffs. It is a permanent fixture in the city, unlike most farmers markets, which are temporary.

      Olvera Street

      The Chinatown in Los Angeles, California is located in the downtown area of the city, is one of California's three major Chinese ethnic neighborhoods. It is a large area containing many popular spots for both tourists and locals.

      Music Center

      One of the biggest performing arts venues in the country, the LA Music Center is a multi-venue complex, comprised of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Mark Taper Forum, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and the Ahmanson Theater.

      Bel Air is an affluent neighborhood in West Los Angeles, a setting for film and television shows, as well as the home of many celebrities, across Sunset Boulevard from UCLA. The neighborhood houses the Hannah Carter Japanese Garden.

    *Trains can be late at times but overall the itinerary is very interesting and enjoyable. This independent trip requires some flexibility and acceptance of train or other delays and minor changes. It is like a mini adventure. If you are finicky about times and details perhaps you should look at a different itinerary.

      Confirmation

    • Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 72 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.

      Redemption

    • You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order was received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email (e-ticket). When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print e-tickets to present when you arrive at your destination. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.

    Hotels listed for each tour may change due to special events, conventions or other reasons beyond our control.

    Meals when included are with a choice of menu. Dinner includes soup or salad, main course, dessert and coffee, milk or tea. Wine, bar beverages, appetizers or fancy desserts are at extra cost to you. Vegetarian, Kosher or other diets can not be guaranteed but you can order appropriate items.

    Baggage checked with us is brought to and from the hotel rooms in Monterey and Solvang on the Cypress tour. In case of loss, our maximum liability is $500.00 or repairs up to $50.00 for damage other than normal wear and tear. Baggage handling is not included for Yosemite tours.

    Cancellations and refunds
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours through web mail at Contact Us. Your refund request will be answered and processed promptly. If you do not receive any reply within 2 business days, that means your request is not received successfully; thus, the tour status remains "confirmed". Please contact us immediately at 617.354.2101.

    Cancellation penalties per person as follows; there is 6% handling fee of refund amount.(Notification day and departure day are not counted)

    • Up to 21 days before tour date the charge is $50 per person.
      A handling fee of $25 per booking will be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.
    • 20 to 3 days prior tour date the charge is 50% of the tour cost.
      A handling fee of $55 per transaction will be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.
    • 2 days to 24 hours prior tour the charge is 75% of the tour cost.
      A handling fee of $75 per transaction will be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation.
    • Less than 24 hours or No Show the charge is 100% of the tour cost.
      We don't accept any alteration or revision made to a reservation.
    • The refund is the amount paid minus the cancellation charge and handling fee.
    • We cannot grant refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

    Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

    Tour Cancellation
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements (e.g. minimum number of passengers) or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
