Day 1: Sao Paulo

At Noon 12:00, the tour guide will pick you up and take you on a pleasant journey in Brazil. We will first visit Sao Paulo, Brazil's political, economic, cultural, tourism and transportation center. Following, we will then visit Phoenix Park where the Presidential Palace of Ireland is located along with Trinity College, which is one of the three oldest English-speaking colleges of the same reputation as Oxford and Cambridge.

Special Notes:
In case of traffic jam or traffic control, Monument to the Bandeiras and Monument to Dharma Protector Heroes will be changed to a car view.

    Liberdade is Sao Paulo’s large and colorful Asian (largely Japanese) district, with a great variety of restaurants and stores and a square that hosts folk festivals and a weekly open-air market.

    Ibirapuera Park

    Ibirapuera Park was inaugurated in 1954 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Sao Paulo. Ibirapuera Parks offers several cultural attractions and areas for fitness, bicycle path, thirteen courts and playgrounds. Due to its dimension, attractions and number of visitor, it is often comparable by foreigners to Ueno Park, Stanley Park, Hyde Park or Central Park.

    Monument to the Bandeiras

    Monument to the Bandeiras at Ibirapuera Park is one of the granite statues in the world. The monument depicts an expedition, led by two horsemen, followed by a group of people of different ethnic backgrounds (Indians, Africans, Mestizos, and Portuguese), pulling a canoe that they used for traveling by river. The monument was presented to the city of Sao Paulo on its 399th anniversary.

    Parque da Independencia

    Parque da Independencia is more than a neighborhood park and is one of the important landmarks of the city. This vast stretch of greenery is home to various tourist attractions like Monument to the Independence of Brazil and Casa do Grito. Apart from that, there are well-maintained French gardens that make a lovely sight. Also, it is home to many different species of birds.

    Monument to the Independence of Brazil

    The Monument to the Independence of Brazil, also known as the Ipiranga Monument or the Altar of the Fatherland, is one of the best-known landmarks in São Paulo. Situated where Dom Pedro I declared Brazil's independence in 1822, this sculpture was jointly designed by Ettore Ximens and Manfredo Manfredi to celebrate the first centenary of Brazil.

    Sao Paulo Cathedral

    The construction of the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Sao Paulo , began in 1913 in Neo-Gothic style and ended four decades later. Despite having a Renaissance-styled dome, the Cathedral is considered by some to be the 4th largest neo-gothic cathedral in the world.

    Avenida Paulista (Passing By)

    Avenida Paulista is the most popular avenue of the city and concentrates all that is best in Sao Paulo. It is possible to visit museums and cultural centers, check book launchings and go shopping: all in one place! At the same time, Avenida Paulista allows contact with nature: the Trianon Park and Park Mario Covas.

    Museu de Arte de Sao Paulo Assis Chateaubriand (Outside Visit)

    Located in the heart of the city, Paulista Avenue, the MASP is one of the most important museums in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the main postcards of the city. It is on the list of the ten most visited tourist attractions of Sao Paulo, with a collection of about eight thousand pieces. Another point that attracts visitors is the architecture. In construction, it is unique in the world with the main body resting on four side pillars, forming a span of 74 meters long. The MASP was listed by Condephaat and in 2003 by IPHAN – Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage.

Day 2: Sao Paulo-Foz do Iguacu (833 km)

Today we will continue our tour in Sao Paulo. After breakfast, we will first head to the hidden attraction in Sao Paulo Beco do Batman, where new graffiti appears on the walls . Following, we will visit the Latin American Memorial to experience the beauty of modern architecture. After lunch, you will take a flight to Foz do Iguacu by your own (please book the flight taking off between 15:00-17:00.).

    Latin America Memorial is a public space and museum. It was designed as a monument to the sociocultural and political unity of Latin America. It is home to a collection of pavilions, galleries, houses paintings, sculptures, and folk art. It also has a rotating schedule of performances and events, like the annual São Paulo Latin American Cinema Festival.

Day 3: Foz do Iguacu-Iguassu Falls (24 km)

Rise and shine! After breakfast, we will drive to Iguacu National Park to visit the largest falls in the world. The waterfall is located at the border of Brazil and Argentina. Take an elevator to enter the plank road and enjoy the magnificent waterfalls views. You may also get a special chance to see this natural wonder up-close on the bridge that extends to the front of the waterfall. Afterwards, we will head to Parque das Aves, known as a "Paradise for Birds", and interact with the colorful birds. In the evening, you may even choose to enjoy folk songs and dance performances at your own expense.

    Iguazu Bird Park

    The park was opened in 1994 which is set within 16 hectares of forest. Here you can find not only birds but also other animals and butterflies.

    Parque das Aves will be closed on Mondays, and guests will not be able to visit it on that specific day. Please understand.

    Iguazu Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentina province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Parani. The falls are shared by the Iguaz' National Park (Argentina) and Iguau National Park (Brazil). The two parks were designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1984 and 1987, respectively.

Day 4: Foz do Iguacu-Rio de Janeiro (1192 km)

Today we will go to the iconic building of Iguazu - Itaipu Dam! It is the second largest hydropower station in the world. We will take a scenic bus tour to observe the dam up close from different angles. In addition to the beautiful scenic views from the spillway to the top of the dam, you can also enjoy the natural beauty of tourist area along the way. After lunch, you will take a flight to Rio de Janeiro (please book the flight taking off between 15:00-17:00.).

    Itaipu Dam

    Itaipu Dam is on the Alto (Upper) Parana River at the Brazil-Paraguay border. It was built between 1975 and 1982, is 196 metres height and consists of large concrete segments joined to form a hollow chamber. Its reservoir stretches northward for about 160 km, and it has totally submerged the formerly spectacular Guaíra Falls. Built as a joint venture by Paraguay and Brazil, the energy generated by Itaipu helps to meet the demands of the two countries.

    Please understand that the Itaipu Dam will not be available on Tuesdays, and guests will no longer be able to visit it.

Day 5: Rio de Janeiro

Today you will get to experience an entire day to get to know the third largest city in South America - Rio de Janeiro. We will first drive to the famous Corcovado Mountain. From there, We will take a train to the top of the mountain and take a photo with the towering Jesus statue. Afterwards, we will head to Brazil's legendary stadium, the Maracana Stadium, to relive the grand occasion of the World Cup. Ipanema Beach is another attraction you cannot miss! Follow us to visit the nice beach and drop by the famous Sambadrome Marques de Sapucai on the way. Finally, we will enjoy a delicious Brazilian barbecue!

    Maracana Stadium

    A football stadium opened in 1950 to host the FIFA World Cup. The Maracana was partially rebuilt in preparation for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, and the 2014 World Cup, for which it hosted several matches, including the final. It also served as the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

    Sambadrome Marques de Sapucai (Passing By)

    A purpose-built parade area built for the Rio Carnival. The parades attract many thousands of Brazilians and foreign tourists each year, and the structure is also used as a multi-purpose performance venue.

    Ipanema is one of the best known around the world. Trendsetting Ipanema, the place made famous by the '60s song to bear its name, has a long tradition of dictating beach chic to the rest of the world. The mere mention of the name Ipanema Beach conjures thoughts of a perfect tropical setting, that is filled with beautiful acres of powder-white sand and the alluring ocean blue.

    The Museu Historico do Exercito e Forte de Copacabana is a traditional and wonderful location to visit. It is filled with a lot of historically rich traditions and beauty! Day 6: Rio de Janeiro

Today we will continue our tour in Rio de Janeiro. After breakfast, we will drive to one of the symbols of Rio - Sugar Loaf Mountain, take a spacious bubble cable car to reach the peak that overlooks the panoramic view of Rio 360°. Afterwards, we will continue along the seaside to visit the World War II Martyrs Monument and St. Tropez Abbey. We will even get a glance at the exterior of the Museum of Tomorrow that is still under construction. Finally, we will arrive at the Rio Star Ferris Wheel to ride the Ferris wheel and experience the famous tourist attractions Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ Statue, Guanabara Bay and much more!

    Monument to the Dead of World War II

    It is also the Monument to the Brazilian Soldiers of World War II which commemorates Brazil's participation and losses in the Second World War. It is located in Flamengo Park of Rio de Janeiro.

    Sao Bento Monastery

    Built in the mid-17th century, this monastery is run by Benedictine monks. The modest exterior may fool you - the interior design is very ornate, and made entirely of wood, unlike the stone of European churches.

    Museum of Tomorrow (Outside Visit)

    The design of the Museum is inspired by the Carioca culture and through its architecture, explores the relationship between the city and the natural environment. The Museum includes 5,000 square meters of temporary and permanent exhibition space, as well as a 7,600 square meter plaza that wraps around the structure and extends along the dock. The building features large overhangs 75 meters in length on the side facing the square and 45 meters in length on the side facing the sea.

    Rio Yup Star

    Rio Yup Star was the first Ferris Wheel in Latin America. It is 88 meters high and offers the most breathtaking view of Rio de Janeiro. From the top you can have an incredible view of the Rio de Janeiro landscape and the famous tourist spots such as the Pao de Açucar, the Christ the Redeemer, the Guanabara Bay, the Museum of Tomorrow and so much more!

Day 7: Rio de Janeiro

Today will be the end of your pleasant trip in Brazil. After breakfast, we will be visiting Catedral Metropolitana de Sao Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro with an unique architectural style. Shortly after we will take a look at the Escadaria Selaron, which is an art gallery with a b South American feature. Finally, you will be given enough time to freely shop and explore the city around you.

    Catedral Metropolitana de Sao Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro

    The Catedral’s appearance and history are very unusual and make it one of the most curious sights in the marvellous city! The Metropolitan Cathedral is 75 meters high and 64 meters high, with four stained glass windows are distributed along its diameter. The Cathedral also has an area of ​​8,000 m², with capacity for 20,000 people standing or 5,000 seated!

    Escadaria Selaron

    It is also known as the Selaron Steps, which is a set of world-famous steps in Rio de Janeiro. They are the work of Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón who claimed it as "my tribute to the Brazilian people".

  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office.     8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.

    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.

  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
    In case of attraction closures (due to holidays or construction, etc.), tour guide may make some necessary changes to the itinerary accordingly.
    Itineraries are subject to change due to the weather, transportation and other conditions, in order to provide the best experience for you.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
