    Day 1

    Vancouver

    Today, guests will arrive at the airport in Vancouver and transfer to the local hotel. Those who arrive before 12:00pm will be able to enjoy a 3 hour sightseeing tour of the city, including stops at Canada Place, the Vancouver Convention Center, the Olympic Cauldron and Stanley Park. Guests can also choose to instead go on an outlet shopping excursion.

      This city in British Columbia is the most populated metro area in western Canada. This historic city grew from an 1867 settlement called "Gastown." Visitors can take a boat ride to nearby Victoria on Vancouver Island.

      Canada Place

      The roof of Canada Place, Vancouver's large convention facility, is made of cloth pieces to resemble sails. This complex contains the Vancouver Convention Center, the local cruise ship terminals, the city's World Trade Center, and a hotel.

      The Vancouver Convention Centre in British Columbia, Canada is one of the country's largest convention centers. It has twice been selected as the "World's Best Convention Center." The Center was an important place in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

      Olympic Cauldron

      Constructed for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Vancouver's Olympic Cauldron stands as a reminder of the legacy of those great games. Located by the Vancouver Convention Center, the cauldron is an interesting piece of architecture.

    Vancouver - Kamloops - Revelstoke (465 km)

    In the morning, we will depart from Vancouver and travel to Kamloops, where we can visit a famous ginseng factory. We will spend the night in either Revelstoke.

    Revelstoke - Banff National Park - Jasper National Park - Golden (696 km)

    Today, we will arrive in Banff National Park. We will travel along the Icefields Parkway, passing the Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake and the Columbia Icefield on the way. The icefield feeds the famous Athabasca Glacier, and we can ride a snow coach out onto this beautiful ice formation. We can also visit the local skywalk for incredible views of the area. Later, we will spending the night in Golden.

      Crowfoot Glacier

      Crowfoot Glacier is located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, 32 km (20 mi) northwest of Lake Louise, and can be viewed from the Icefields Parkway. The glacier is situated on the northeastern flank of Crowfoot Mountain.

      Columbia Icefield

      The Columbia Icefield in the northern part of Banff National Park covers an area of about 200 square miles in the Canadian Rockies. The Icefield feeds eight major glaciers in the area, including Athabasca Glacier and Dome Glacier.

      Bow Falls

      The Bow Falls are a 30-foot-high, 100-foot wide waterfall just outside the city of Banff. The falls are popular with tourists because they are just a short walk from the town and can be reached on foot from most hotels.

      Columbia Glacier Snow Coach

      A snow coach is a specialized passenger transport vehicle, designed to operate over snow or ice. We can step on the glacier after a ride on the giant snow coach over the steep grades up the glacier.

      Athabasca Glacier

      The Athabasca Glacier is the most-visited glacier in North America. It is one of the eight major glaciers of the Columbia Icefield. The Icefield Interpretive Centre is next to the glacier, and is where visitors can arrange tours.

      Glacier Skywalk

      Visitors to the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre in Jasper National Park are treated to something new for 2014-- the Glacier Skywalk. Modeled after the Grand Canyon Skywalk, this horseshoe-shaped bridge lets guests walk out over the cliffside glacier.

    Golden - Banff - Lethbridge (82 km)

    We will visit Moraine Lake. The view was featured on the back of Canadian twenty dollar bills. Next, enjoy a short lakeside walk along the shores of lovely Lake Louise. After that touring the quintessential alpine village of Banff. We will spend the night in Lethbridge.

    Lethbridge - Yellowstone National Park

    Today, we will drive to Yellowstone National Park. We'll have a half day visit inside of the park and overnight at West Yellowstone.

    Yellowstone National Park - Butte (633 km)

    Today, we will a full day in Yellowstone National Park,. We can try to spot bears, bald eagles and many other animals during the day. We will visit places like Old Faithful, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring, Fountain Paint Pot, Artist Point, the Norris Geyser Basin, the Upper Falls and more endless natural wonders. We will spend the night in Butte.

      Old Faithful Geyser

      Old Faithful is a cone geyser in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. It is one of the park's most well-known natural features, and is famous for its predictability. It generally erupts every 91 minutes.

      Grand Prismatic Hot Spring

      The third largest hot spring in the world, the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring gets its color from bacteria around its rim that feed off of the mineral-rich water. In the summer months, the hot spring is a vivid red-orange shade.

      Fountain Paint Pot

      Fountain Paint Pot, heated by the region's underground hot springs, F.P.P is half hot spring, half mud basin. The spring releases natural shades of red and yellow because of the oxidation of iron in the soil.

      Artist Point

      Named after the famous sketches of the waterfalls by Thomas Moran (but not actually the location where the sketched were done) this beautiful location showcases one of the most famous views in Yellowstone National Park.

      Norris Geyser Basin

      Yellowstone National Park is full of areas like this - geyser basins - large, open areas where geothermic pressure from below the ground's surface force up various geysers and springs. The Norris Basin is one of the more accessible.

      Upper Yellowstone Falls

      Located a quarter-mile upstream of the larger Lower Falls, the Upper Yellowstone River Falls plunge 109 feet down an eroded lava cliff into the basin below. The area below the falls has been subject to heavier erosion than above.

      Fishing Bridge

      Located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River, the Fishing Bridge is a great location to spot the native Cutthroat trout. There is an RV park of the same name nearby.

    Butte - Missoula - Lake Coeur d'Alene - Ellensburg (471 km)

    Our first stop of the day will be the Lincoln's Silver Dollar Inn. In the afternoon, we will visit Lake Coeur d'Alene, taking a relaxing walk on the world's longest floating boardwalk. In the evening, we will arrive in Ellensburg, where we will spend the night.

      One of the oldest farmers' markets in the United States, the Pike Place Market first opened in 1909-- more than 100 years ago. The still-thriving market overlooking Elliot Bay sees more than 10 million visitors every year.
