    • Vienna, AUSTRIA

Vienna is the capital city of Austria. It is considered one of the best places to live in the world. Called "The City of Music", Vienna has produced internationally famous composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, Mozart and more.

      Museum of Applied Arts

This museum displays exhibits dedicated to decorative arts, like glass, silver, china, and more. There are entire collections of sofas, carpets, and other furnishings. With one visit, you'll be wishing you could take some pieces to decorate your own home!

      Vienna State Opera

This amazing opera house traces its origins to the middle of the 1800s. Its prestigious orchestra members often go on to become players in the Vienna Philharmonic. The neo-Renaissance facade is beloved today, but unpopular at the time of construction.

      Kunsthistorisches Museum

This is the premier fine arts museum in Vienna. The building in which it is located is a grand palace building along the Ringstrasse. It features the works of many significant artists, like Rembrandt and Johannes Vermeer.

      Naturhistorisches Museum

This lovely museum was opened towards the end of the 19th century, twinned with the Museum of Fine Arts, which sits directly opposite. Here, there are numerous exhibits that deal with the study of sciences like astronomy and biology.

      Museumsquartier

This area in Vienna is roughly 60,000 square-meters and is comprised of grand, baroque buildings that house the city's most impressive museums. Even if you don't visit a museum, the area still makes for a great stroll!

      Hofburg Palace

This former imperial palace now serves as the residence of the Austrian president. In addition, this massive complex also houses museums that detail the history of the Austrian government. It also serves as a convention center for the city.

      Austrian Parliament Building

The Austrian Parliament Building is, as the name implies, the place where the governmental proceedings of the Austrian government are decided on and enacted. Its Grecian influence was meant to invoke the democratic beliefs of the ancient Greeks.

      Rathaus

This neo-Gothic building is home to both the Vienna City Council and the mayor. Within, you can find several baroque rooms and halls. It was designed by architect Friedrich von Schmidt and built between 1872 and 1883.

      Burgtheater

The national theater of Austria and one of the most renowned German language theaters in the world. Many famous productions have premiered here, including three Mozart operas and Beethoven's 1st Symphony.

      Schonbrunn Palace

Schonbrunn Palace is both one of the most important cultural landmarks in Austria and possibly the most major of its tourist attractions. This 1,440-room Rococo estate and gardens was built by Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II in 1569.

      Belvedere Palace

The Belvedere is a massive palatial complex in Vienna. It contains two palaces (the Upper and Lower Belvederes), the Orangery, and the Palace Stables, and also houses the Belvedere Museum. It was built in the Baroque style.
