  • We are returning customers to Taketours, this time after the wave of COVID. And guys, we absolutely must tell you that this tour (we joined from Rockville, MD) is truly a HIDDEN GEM, that nearly nobody appears to know about !!! You might find this a surprise, but yes - we touched 4 states - West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee, all in just matter of 3 days (over 1200 miles). Since our group was too small, it really felt just like a personal tour with a dedicated tour guide. Our tour was led by Jason, and honestly, I still can't tell you if the tour was better or if it was his warm, friendly, cheerful hospitality all the way through and through. Jason is extremely knowledgeable, so very thoughtful and talented in helping specific needs throughout the tour, gave us more than sufficient time to explore each attraction. His choice of hotels, stopover for lunch/dinner was amazing and very personalized. The tour in itself is a great getaway from craziness of MD/VA/DC commute and mundane work routines. The Shenandoah valley, Luray caverns, Skyline drive - all but with pretty sights of black baby bears, deers, hyenas (yup the bears are not scared and did pose for several drivers to photograph)!! Driving by the blue ridge mountains, out into Tennessee over to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was fantastic and truly memorable!! Gatlinburg has great destinations and attractions for youngsters, children, adults and families. Aerial tramway not to be missed! Like this was not enough, the tour actually offers tickets to the very famous DOLLY PARTON DIXIE STAMPEDE dinner show. And guys, hands down - this has been the BEST SHOW of our life so far ( am not kidding you, for real). But I won't spoil it for you. We strongly advocate that you NOT miss this dinner show AT ANY COST. And oh my god - The Great Smoky Mountains - how so very majestic, what a true GEM, right in the heart of USA. There really is no need to go to Europe or Switzerland, for these mountain ranges (specifically the hike to the Clingman's Dome), will be engraved onto your soul forever. But don't take our word for it, GO SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!! And believe me, nobody organizes it better than Jason at TakeTours !! We can't wait to accumulate vacation days to go for yet another tour with Jason again (we are already thinking about the Acadia National Park tour) - hopefully our paths will cross with you, and we all can visit more places together, with Jason and have the greatest time !!
