Day 1: Washington DC

As guests arrive at the airport in Washington, D.C., they will meet with the tour guide in the baggage claim area. For international arrivals, the guide will wait just outside of the customs exit.

Day 2: Washington-Mount Vernon-Alexandria-Washington (31 miles)

We will discover from the outside view of the Pentagon, the U.S. Department of Defense. In front of the Pentagon, it’s the National 911 Pentagon Memorial. Then, we will head to George Washington’s Mount Vernon. In the afternoon, we will drive to the Old Town Alexandria for free activities. The atmosphere of the old city is quite different from that of Washington, DC. In the old town, you can enjoy the sunshine, vibrant colors, street music, and unique foods.

Day 3: Washington-Luray-Shenandoah National Park-Washington (258 miles)

We will depart in the morning for Virginia. Upon our arrival in this scenic state, we will head to Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley to visit Luray Caverns, which perhaps are best known caverns for the Great Stalactite Organ. In the afternoon we will enter the Shenandoah National Park to take the beautiful skyline drive. On the winding driveway on the mountains, we will stop at the overlooks to observe the beautiful Shenandoah valleys.

    1. Due to the Skyline Drive located across Shenandoah National Park, we enter from Thornton Gap and drive to north exit, this is a one-way tour and lasts 120 mins. 2. On the winding driveway on the mountains, we will stop at the overlooks to observe the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. 3. We will also take an easy walk on one of the trails among the mountains. Total 45 for this trail (round trip). If the weather is extreme, the tour leader will cancel the trail trip, and add other stops properly. 4. If the weather is extreme, we cannot enter into the National Park.

The Battle of Gettysburg (1863) and President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address are to important impactful remarks of the town. The town also hosts visitors to the Gettysburg National Battlefield in the Gettysburg National Military Park.

Following, we will visit Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Finally, we will head to Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Explore more culture and history.

  • Bus Arrangement: Usually only passengers in the same order will be arranged in the same bus. If you book the tour separately with your friends and you want to sit in the same bus, you need to inform us before departure . Or you may be arranged in different buses.
  • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.
  • This tour does not accept any City Pass or your own tickets for the attraction. Passengers who take this tour need to purchase admission tickets from tour escort upon arrival.

Confirmation

  • All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within 2-3 business days after booking. Please do not book the airline tickets until you received the confirmation.

Redemption

  • Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
  • Cancellation penalties per person (request day and departure day are not counted)
    Up to 15 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
    8-14 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
    1-7 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
    In case of attraction closures (due to holidays or construction, etc.), tour guide may make some necessary changes to the itinerary accordingly.
    Itineraries are subject to change due to the weather, transportation and other conditions, in order to provide the best experience for you.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
