Day 1: Washington DC

Today we will gather in Washington, DC. Guests should meet the tour guide at the baggage claim area/outside of the arrival's (restricted) area. For international arrivals, the tour escort will wait just outside of customs exit. Free transfer is available between 9:00am and 10:00pm. In addition, an optional Washington D.C. Night Tour (minimum 4 people) will be offered to the guests who arrive at the hotel before 5:00PM.

    DC Night Tour

    See all the major sights and monuments of Washington DC. We will visit the Air Force Memorial where you can overlook the Pentagon and the skyline of the capital, visit of World War II Memorial, Washington Monument,Jefferson Memorial and also outside visit the Pentagon.

Day 2: Washington DC

Depart from the hotel in the early morning; we will first visit the US Capitol. Our professional tour guide will bring you inside and have a look around the interior of the Capitol building(if the Capitol is closed, we will see the exterior of the Capitol building instead). We will visit Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and see the outside of White House. Then we will take the D.C. Cruise (closed in winter) along Potomac River to see many of the areas' most historic landmarks and memorials in a unique way. Along the way, you will see the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and etc. In the afternoon, you will be able to visit the Smithsonian Institution freely(no tour guide).

    Lincoln Memorial

    This iconic American monument honors the 16th president of the United States. Abraham Lincoln was president during the American Civil War, and is most famous for the Emancipation Proclamation that freed all of the slaves in the US.

    Korean War Veterans Memorial

    This memorial commemorates those who served for the United States in the Korean War. It is located south of the Reflecting Pool at the National Mall. The simple memorial is triangular in shape will a circle at the top.

    Vietnam Veterans Memorial

    This memorial in Washington, DC serves as a place to remember the American soldier who were lost or killed during the tumultuous Vietnam War. Originally controversial in design, the simple memorial has become a shrine for the American people.

    White House

    (Outside Visit) The world-famous White House in Washington, DC is the official residence of the president of the United States and the place where most of the work is done. The facade of this neoclassical mansion is a global icon.

    Potomac River Cruise

    The Potomac River runs along Washington, DC, the capital city of the United States of America. Visitors to this famous locale can opt to see many of the area's most historic landmarks and memorials in a unique way.

    Washington Monument

    This iconic obelisk is a memorial to the commander-in-chief of the American revolutionary army and eventual the first president of the United States of America, George Washington. The massive stone structure began construction in 1848.

    World War II Memorial

    One of Washington, DC's many monuments and memorials, the WWII Memorial pays homage to those who served in the US military during that conflict. It was opened in 2002.

    Jefferson Memorial

    The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is a memorial to the third president of the United States. The impressive building is neoclassical in design and has been standing since 1943. It sees more than two million visitors every year. It's only available during the Cherry Blossom time.

    Smithsonian Institution

    Centered on the National Mall, the Smithsonian Institution is a series of museums dedicated to research and spreading knowledge. Some of the most notable Smithsonian museums are the National Air and Space Museum and the Museum of American History.

Day 3: Washington DC - Corning - Niagara Falls(428 miles)

Driving through the hilly countrysides of Pennsylvania and New York state, we will enjoy the rural scenery as we head north to visit the Corning Glass Museum in Corning, NY. We will then continue on to Niagara Falls, NY where we will see the IMAX Adventure Movie. In summer, we can then choose to take the Maid of Mist. In the evening we will also take the Niagara Falls Night Tour.

    Corning is a city in Steuben County, New York, United States, on the Chemung River. The population was 11,183 at the 2010 census. It is named for Erastus Corning, an Albany financier and railroad executive who was an investor in the company that developed the community.

    Corning Museum of Glass

    This museum in western New York is dedicated to the history, art, and science behind glassmaking. Its collection contains more than 45,000 objects, some of which date back millennia. It was founded in 1951 and sees 400,000 visitors annually.

    Maid of the Mist

    This famous boat ride gets passengers up close and personal with the Niagara Falls! The Maid rides right into the mists thrown up by the roaring cascade as the Niagara River tumbles over the edge of the falls.

Today we will continue to visit the Niagara Falls and take a Niagara Falls In-depth tour. If you don't want to join the Niagara In-depth Tour, you can stay at the Niagara Falls State Park with longer free time. Then we can choose to take Niagara Falls Jetboat. Afterwards we will head to Boston and speng night here.

Day 5: Boston - New York(216 miles)

In the morning, we will start the tour with explore Cambridge and Boston, including Harvard University and pass by the MIT. We will also take the Harbor Cruise and have lunch at Quincy Market. We will also pass by: Old Trinity Cathedral, Hancock Building, Boston Athenaeum, Boston Park, Swan Lake Park, and overlook the Golden Dome of the State House. In the end, we will drive south to New York City, arriving in the early evening.

New Itinerary valid from 1/1/2020: We will have indepth tour of MIT and visit Charles River (optional, 2hrs). After that we will drive to New York.

Today we will spend the day touring New York City, making stops at the One World Observatory. Guests will take a sightseeing cruise tour on the Hudson River, take pictures with the backdrops of Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge. Furthermore, visit USS Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum. In addition, wandering around Wall Street, taking pictures with Trinity Church, New York Stock Exchange and its signature sculpture Charging Bull. If time permits, we will visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. In the end of the day, our tour bus will pass by the Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, Ground Zero.     Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum

    Fifth Avenue

    One World Trade Center is the main building of the new World Trade Center complex in New York City. Once completed in late 2013, this will be both the tallest building in New York and third-tallest in the world.

  • Airport greet and meet: Your tour escort will be wearing a yellow uniform and holding a sign with your name.   • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office.     21-45 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.

    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your account. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 10% handling fee.
    NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds 30 days after completion of the tour.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers. We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.

Additional Note

  • City passes are not accepted during an escorted tour due to the fact that they do not correspond into the tour schedule. The group entrance tickets provided by tour guides have fast lane and tour guides accompany passengers for activities.
  • Bus Arrangement: Usually only passengers in the same order will be arranged in the same bus. If you book the tour separately with your friends and you want to sit in the same bus, you need to inform us before departure . Or you may be arranged in different buses.
  • Itineraries are subject to change due to the weather, transportation and other conditions, in order to provide the best experience for you.
  • Customers are held solely responsible for their own travel documents and/or visas if required.
  • Hotel rooms: Each hotel room can accommodate no more than 4 guests (adults or children), and existing bedding must be used
  • Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.
