Day 1: Alba

Today arrival in Alba and overnight.
  • Alba, ITALY

    Alba is known as the city of the Cento Torri (Hundred Towers), which was built between the fourteenth and the fifteenth century.

Day 2: Alba - Neive - Barbaresco - Manera (128 km)

After breakfast we will start the bike tour in Alba. The route runs entirely through the vineyards of the region. Along the way we can make stops in the typical villages of the Langhe, in particular Neive with its castle and Barbaresco with its civic tower situated in a panoramic position over the Tanaro valley. After that we will return back to hotel with dinner at leisure.
  • Neive, ITALY

    Neive is basically famous for its wine producing region and there are several vineyards located close to the town. Quite a lot people now come to Neive to experience rural Italian village lifestyle.
  • Barbaresco, ITALY

    Delightful Barbaresco is surrounded by vineyards and characterised by its 30m-high, 11th-century tower, visible from miles around. There are more than 40 wineries and two enotecas (wine shop/bars) in the area.

Day 3: Manera - Serralunga (134 km)

Today there will be almost entirely flat on the top of hills, with spectaculars views over the vineyards, following the "Strada romantica delle Langhe e del Roero", with nice village to stop for a break, and the castle of Serralunga which awaits for us at the end of the day.

    In Matera you'll spend a lot of time in caves. You'll sleep in a cave, eat in a cave, drink an aperitivo in a cave, and even view modern sculpture in a cave. It's one of the most unique and spectacular places we've visited in Italy or anywhere in the world.
  • Serralunga d'Alba, ITALY

    Located at the top of the hill of Serralunga, a domain of the characteristic village and its famous vineyards, in one of the most interesting tourist districts and greater development of the region, the castle is indelible symbol of this landscape.

Day 4: Serralunga - Grinzane Cavour - Barolo - La Morra (14 km)

Today we will begin with a nice downhill to the Talloria valley; at the end of it, we can climb up to the castle of Grinzane. The route continues first to Castiglione Falletto, then to Barolo, home of the most famous and appreciated wine of Piedmont and we finally ends in La Morra.

    Grinzane Cavour Castle is one of the best examples of the medieval architecture in the Langhe. This is a prestigious showcase for the very best Piedmontese wines and grappas, foremost amongst them being Barolo and Barbaresco.
  • Barolo, ITALY

    The tiny, 1800-hectare parcel of undulating land immediately around this hilltop village knocks out what is arguably the finest vino in Italy and currently the next big thing with anglophone collectors.
  • La Morra, ITALY

    Atop a hill surrounded by vines with the Alps as a backdrop, La Morra is bigger and quieter than Barolo, though no less beguiling. The village's cantina comunale (communal wine seller) provides lists of places to do tastings.

Day 5: La Morra - Bra (19 km)

Today we will leave from the Langhe, crossing the river Tanaro, and then head to Bra. Along the way we can meet some towns as Narzole and Cherasco. Afterwards we come to Bra, the home of the Slow Food movement. Overnight in Bra.
  • Narzole, ITALY

    Built in the core of Piedmont, Narzole in a wide valley where the Tanaro river flows, along with Mondalavia and Giuminella streams. It'a a lovely town, where some very good wines are made, along with some crafts products and farming products.
  • Cherasco, ITALY

    The town has still retained its medieval essence with its old buildings and monuments. Experience the relaxed village like atmosphere in Cherasco. The economy of the town is based mainly on agricultural activities and on the production of wine.
  • Bra, ITALY

    Bra is the place where the Slow Food movement first took root in 1986, it's also something of a gastronomic pilgrimage site. There are defiantly no supermarkets in the historic centre, where small, family-run shops are replete with organic sausages, handcrafted chocolates and fresh local farm produce.

Day 6: Bra - Pollenzo - Roddi - Alba (14 km)

Today we'll go back to Alba. Before that we will come to visit Pollenzo. In Roddi we can make a short detour to get to the historic center dominated by the castle, before arriving to Alba. Overnight in Alba.

    Pollenzo is a pretty town, with the Slow Food movement's very own University of Gastronomic Sciences at its heart.

    Within 14 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
    Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
