Day 1: Amsterdam

Welcome to Amsterdam! At 6:00 pm, meet your tour director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Amsterdam

Meet your local guide and start your discovery of Holland with a Canal Cruise past gabled merchant houses, arched drawbridges reminiscent of the Golden Age, and the strikingly modern buildings of a young-at-heart city. Next, visit the Rijksmuseum with its priceless paintings by Rembrandt and other Dutch masters. For those who wish to experience Dutch life in the countryside, an optional excursion is available to picture-book Volendam, a fishing village at the former Zuiderzee, including visits to a working windmill, a clogmaker, a cheese farm, plus dinner.

    The Rijksmuseum (Dutch pronunciation), a Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history in Amsterdam, founded in The Hague in 1800 and moved to Amsterdam in 1808. In 2013 and 2014, it was the most visited museum in the Netherlands.

Day 3: Amsterdam - Lisse - The Hague - Amsterdam (106 km)

Visit the famous bulb fields in South Holland and the Keukenhof flower park (departures March-May 18). Continue to the Royal Delft Pottery Factory and see skilled craftsmen at work. After an orientation drive of The Hague, return to Amsterdam and visit the Heineken Experience to learn about the history of beer and the art of brewing (departures June 1-October 5). Later, you may wish to join an optional Dutch dinner, followed by a walk through Old Amsterdam.

    Heineken Experience

    A historic brewery and corporate visitor center for the internationally distributed Dutch pilsner, Heineken beer. The industrial facility was built as the first Heineken brewery in 1867, serving as the company's primary brewing facility until 1988 when a more modern, larger facility was constructed on the outskirts of the city.

Day 4: Amsterdam - Maastricht - Bastogne - Luxembourg (11404 km)

Enter the Province of Limburg and stop in the picturesque city of Maastricht with its famous Vrijthof Square. Cross the border and in Bastogne, visit the fascinating Bastogne War Museum, then see the American Memorial of the Battle of the Bulge, where thousands of soldiers and civilians died during the winter of 1944-1945. Later, arrive in Luxembourg.

    Vrijthof Square

    A large urban square in the centre of Maastricht, Netherlands. The square developed from an ancient Roman and Frankish cemetery into a semi-private space that belonged to the Collegiate Church of Saint Servatius. In the 19th century it became the town's main square. It is surrounded by important heritage buildings, museums, a theatre and a range of hotels, restaurants and bars.

Day 5: Luxembourg

Morning sightseeing with your local guide covers the city's past and present from the fortifications and the Old Town, perched high atop a sandstone outcrop with striking views of the Alzette and Pétrusse Gorges, to the modern administrative center of European institutions. Visit the Cathedral of Our Lady, see the turreted Grand Ducal Palace, take a stroll along the panoramic cliff path known as "the most beautiful balcony in Europe," and see the Grave of General Patton. An optional excursion is available to ancient Trier in Germany.

    Grand Ducal Palace

    A palace in Luxembourg City, in southern Luxembourg. It is the official residence of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, and where he performs most of his duties as head of state of the Grand Duchy.

Day 6: Luxembourg - Waterloo - Brussels (189 km)

Drive through the Belgian Ardennes to Flanders and to Waterloo. Visit the site where Napoleon was defeated and European history changed course, and relive the famous Battle of Waterloo. In Brussels, your orientation features the Rue Royale, the Parliament Buildings, the Royal Palace, and St. Michael Cathedral. Continue on foot and enter Grand Place to admire its baroque guild houses and the gothic Town Hall. You won't want to leave Brussels without touching the statue of Everard t'Serclaes, a 14th-century hero, for good luck, and taking pictures of the tiny but world-famous statue of Manneken Pis.

    "Manneken Pis" literally means "Little Man Pee" and that sums up this world-famous statue nicely. Dating all the way back to 1619, this statue is a fountain that depicts a little boy peeing into the basin below.

Day 7: Brussels - Bruges - Brussels (176 km)

Focus on Bruges, one of Western Europe's most perfectly preserved medieval towns. A canal cruise (weather permitting) and Belgian Chocolate Bonbons will give you a first taste of this delightful town. The local guide will show you the Madonna of Bruges by Michelangelo in the Church of Our Lady and the famous Market Square. Also enjoy a traditional Lace Demonstration, a reminder of Bruges' history of cloth-making. Time for souvenir hunting and exploring on your own before returning to Brussels.

    The Market Square is located in the heart of the city and covers an area of about 1 hectare. Some historical highlights around the square include the 12th-century belfry and the West Flanders Provincial Court. In the center of the market stands the statue of Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck.

Day 8: Brussels

This morning is your chance to join a half-day optional excursion to Antwerp, the second-largest Belgian city and one of the world's most important ancient seaports. Balance of the day is at leisure to further explore Brussels at your own pace. Tonight, a farewell dinner at the lively Chez Léon restaurant, specializing in moules et frites (mussels and fries), is the perfect way to celebrate the success of your trip.

Confirmation

  • Immediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 72 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking.

Redemption

  • You will receive an confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order was received. Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email (e-ticket). When you reserve your attractions and services you will be asked to print e-tickets to present when you arrive at your destination. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

  • PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
    The purchase of any travel services represents your acceptance Terms & Conditions set out herein. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking.
  • Prices: All vacation prices are based on rates (reflecting foreign exchange rates) known at the time of publication and expected to be in effect at the time of departure, and do not include airfare except where noted. Vacation prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Single room supplements and triple and quad room reductions are listed where applicable. Not all accommodation types are available on all vacations.
  • Cancellation: Standard Cancellation Fees escorted and independent vacations:
    (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    45 days prior to the commencement of services: $250 per person will be charged.
    45-22 days prior to commencement of services: 20% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    21-8 days prior to commencement of services: 30% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    7-1 days prior to commencement of services: 50% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    On departure day and later: 100% of total price* plus Travel Protection payments
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Reservation Changes: A fee of $50 per transaction will be charged for any alteration or revision made to a reservation. A change of traveler name, vacation date, or itinerary within final payment will be treated as a full cancellation and new reservation; vacation cancellation fees (as above) apply.
  • Contact Information: Passengers are responsible to ensure that operator Travel has the correctly spelled name, address, phone number, email and fax data for all passengers. Names printed on the invoice must exactly match the first and last name written in their passport (middle names or initials are not needed). Operator will not be responsible for passengers who do not receive documents due to inaccurate information.
  • Baggage Allowance: Due to limited motorcoach capacity, your single bag should have dimensions not exceeding 30"x21"x11" and weight not exceeding 50lbs (22kg). We regret that we are unable to accept a second suitcase or any luggage exceeding these limits on any vacation listed in this brochure.
  • Passports and Visas: Passengers are responsible for obtaining and paying for all visas and entry documents, for meeting all health and other requirements, and for any documents required by the laws, regulations, orders, and/or requirements of the countries you will visit. Most countries require that the passport be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the conclusion of your trip. It is recommended you have a minimum of three blank pages in your passport when traveling, as many countries require blank pages. Multiple-entry visas are required for some vacations. It is your responsibility to verify all visa and passport requirements.
  • Children: Travelers who are less than 18 years old on the departure date must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the vacation. We do not accept children less than 8 years old.
  • Travel Protection (Insurance): Comprehensive trip insurance is highly recommended by operator.
  • Travelers with Disabilities: Tour participants requiring any form of assistance are required to notify operator in writing at the time of reservation, and must be accompanied by an individual responsible for providing those services. Tour managers, guides, drivers or other tour, hotel, ship personnel are not able to provide such assistance. Wheelchairs + Walkers: Due to physical constraints and space limitations, wheelchairs and walkers may not be taken aboard motor coaches and/or river cruise ships. Operator reserves the right to remove any person from a tour or cruise who has not provided the required notification, has not received written confirmation from operator, or does not comply with these regulations. All related expenses, including those to return home, will be borne by the passenger.
  • Hotel Accommodations: The accommodations listed in the brochure or on the Web site are intended to be used on all departures; however, if a change becomes necessary for any reason, including additional departures on the same date, the accommodations substituted will be equivalent to those shown. Every effort is made to reserve only twin-bedded rooms. Occasionally, some hotels will only provide double-bedded rooms. These rooms will be allocated to couples. Please note that accommodation check-in times vary worldwide.
  • Service Inquiries After the Vacation: Any complaint or claim involving the vacation services offered in this brochure or on the Web sites must be notified to the Company within 30 days of the tour completion, except where such time limitations are prohibited by law.
    As it is difficult and sometimes impossible to properly investigate a complaint if we are not advised of such complaint quickly, any compensation you may have been able to claim could be reduced or even forfeited if you do not follow the complaints procedure set out in this clause.
  • RESPONSIBILITY: Operator and its representatives abroad act only as independent contractors acting on behalf of neither the customer nor the suppliers and principals. All exchange orders, coupons, and tickets, whether paper or electronic, are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which such means of transportation, accommodations, and other services are offered or provided. The issuance and acceptance of such documents shall be deemed to be consent to the further conditions. Operator does not own nor operate the hotels, motor coaches, airlines, cruise lines, or any other service providers which compose their tours, and will not be held responsible for changes and/or cancellations for any reason by airlines, hotels or cruise ships.
  • The Travel Agent and/or Tour Operator, shall not be in any way liable for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity in any vehicle, or through the act of default of any company, or person engaged in conveying passengers, or of any hotel proprietor, personnel, servant or any other person otherwise in connection therewith. Operator shall not be held responsible for potential risks and hazards associated with travel to destinations included in this brochure, where injury, delay, or unanticipated events may occur. Operator shall not assume responsibility for standards of quality, hygiene, political stability, cuisine, sanitation facilities, diseases or viruses contracted while traveling for any cause, cleanliness, telecommunications facilities, methods of conducting business, emergency medical evacuation, treatment, or medical services found in these destinations. Travel to these areas may entail risks including but not limited to the hazards of traveling in politically unstable areas, civil disturbances, war, and arbitrary changes mandated by government authorities or private concerns. It is the responsibility of the passenger(s) to check with the U.S. State Department, Consular Information, click here for any current advisories and updates to the destinations on their itinerary. Operator shall be held harmless from any and all liability in connection with the foregoing. Operator cannot accept responsibility for loss or expense due to delay or changes in transportation schedule or other causes. Operator shall not be held responsible for potential loss of services due to inclement weather conditions.
