Casa Vicens was built as a summer home between 1883 and 1885.
In Casa Vicens, Gaudi recreated the figurative worlds that were fashionable at the time, but in a highly personal way.
Casa Vicens thus became one of the first examples of the aesthetic renewal of art and architecture which was taking place all around Europe in the late 19th century.

Day 1

Today, we will take a guided tour to the first house built by Antoni Gaudi, the celebrated architect from Barcelona. We will get to see the splendid Casa Vicens, covered in spectacular green and white tiles. The building serves as a prelude to the future masterpieces of Gaudi. It was built as a summer home between 1883 and 1885. Afterwards, we will continue to another of Gaudi's most famous designs: Park Guell. This public park is full of surprises, a work that unites the best elements of architecture and nature. The tour ends in the park, so we will have plenty of time to explore.

Parc Guell

Park Guell is a garden which contains several sculptures by Antoni Gaudi, perhaps Barcelona's best known artist and architect. The Guell is home to some of his best work, like his sculpture of a salamander and the functional birds nests.
