Day 1: Cairo

Today, guests will arrive at Cairo International Airport, where they will meet with the tour guide and transfer to the hotel. There will be a brief welcome meeting in the hotel, to go over some important details of our trip for the next few days.

Day 2: Cairo

In the morning, we will visit the historical siteGreat Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx before taking a short camel ride. Then, we will visit the Solar Boat Museum. In the afternoon, we will explore the world-famous Egyptian Museum to see the treasures of Tutankhamen. At the end of the day, we will explore the Khan el-Khalili Souk.

    Cairo, Egypt's sprawling capital, is set on the Nile River. Nearby, Giza is site of the iconic pyramids and Great Sphinx, dating to the 26th century B.C.E. In Gezira Island's leafy Zamalek district, 187m Cairo Tower affords panoramic city views.

    Great Sphinx of Giza

    The Great Sphinx rises above the desert majestically as the tallest monolith statue in the world. It was built during the Old Kingdom of Egypt, usually dated between 2558-2532 BCE, under the reign of Pharaoh Khafra.

    Giza Solar Boat Museum

    Giza Solar Boat Museum was constructed around 1985. It is dedicated to display the reconstructed Khufu solar ship. It was constructed next to the Great Pyramid of Khufu. The museum is equipped with modern techniques and technologies in order to preserve the solar boat.

    The Egyptian Museum

    Containing an unparalleled collection of over 120,000 items, this museum opened in 1902 to show a detailed history of ancient Egyptian culture. Many languages can be found on the artifacts, including Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Arabic.

    Khan el-Khalili

    A major souk in the Islamic district of Cairo. The bazaar district is one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.

Day 3: Cairo - Alexandria - Cairo (359 km)

In the morning, we will leave Cairo and head to Alexandria to visit the famed Library of Alexandria, the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa , the Roman Amphitheatre and the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Afterwards, we will return to Cairo.

    Royal Library of Alexandria

    One of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world. It was dedicated to the Muses, the nine goddesses of the arts. It flourished under the patronage of the Ptolemaic dynasty and functioned as a major center of scholarship from the 3rd century BC to 30 BC.

    Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

    A historical archaeological site located in Alexandria, Egypt and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. It is believed to have been founded by Alexander the Great in April 331 BC.

    Citadel of Qaitbay

    Built by the ruling sultan in 1477 AD to defend the city, this citadel sits on the Eastern Harbour of Alexandria. It was constructed on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria.

Day 4: Cairo - Ismailia - Cairo (255 km)

Today, we will go to the city of Ismailia, where we can cross the Suez Canal in a ferry boat. We will visit Tabet el Shagara, one of the remaining military sites from the Egyptian-Israeli War. We will enjoy lunch in a traditional Egyptian restaurant.

Day 5: Cairo - Faiyum - Cairo (268 km)

Today, we will discover the most famous sites around Faiyum Oasis and drive around Qarun Lake. We will also visit Wadi El Rayan, Modawara Mountain, the Magic Lake and Wadi El Hitan, where we will enjoy a BBQ lunch. We can also go sand surfing in the desert scenery. Afterwards, we will return to Cairo.

    Wadi El Rayan

    A unique nature protectorate in Faiyum Governorate, Egypt. The valley of Wadi El-Rayan is an area of 1759km2, 113km2 of which are the dominating water body of the Wadi El Rayan lakes.

    Wadi El Hitan

    A paleontological site in the Faiyum Governorate of Egypt, some 150 km southwest of Cairo.It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2005 for its hundreds of fossils of some of the earliest forms of whale, the archaeoceti.

Day 6: Cairo

In the early morning, guests will transfer to Cairo International Airport for their departure flights.

  • Regardless of the reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. A written notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours.
  • Cancellation Policy: (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
    40 days or more prior to departure date - no penalty but the bank transaction fees
    39 - 22 days prior to departure date - 50% of total purchase amount
    Within 21 days prior to departure date - 100% of the total purchase amount
    Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Booking changes:
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
  • Itinerary Variations:
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
