Day 1: Helsinki

After guests arrive in Helsinki, they can arrange for optional transport from the airport to the hotel. Once everyone is present, there will be a welcome meeting.

Day 2: Helsinki

Our sightseeing tour will take us around the city's harbors, Senate Square, the Lutheran Cathedral, central Mannerheim Street, the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, the Sibelius Monument and the famous Church-in-the-Rock. In the afternoon, we can take an optional excursion to the Suomenlinna Fortress. The evening will offer optional Finnish dinner at Restaurant Salve.

    Senate Square

    The oldest area of the Finnish capital, Helsinki's Senate Square is bordered by the Helsinki Cathedral, Government Palace, University of Helsinki, and the oldest building in Helsinki, the Sederholm House, which was built in 1757.

    Helsinki Cathedral

    The Helsinki Cathedral is a Finnish landmark built in the majestic neoclassical style. Its floor plan is based on the Greek cross, with a center square and four arms. It was constructed in the middle of the 19th century.

    Mannerheim Street

    Mannerheim is the main street in central Helsinki, named after one of FInland's most renowned military leaders. The street begins in the city center and continues north, stretching out past the city limits.

    Parliament House

    The Finnish House of Parliament in Helsinki was designed by the architect Johan Sigfrid Siren and completed in 1931. It is located on a hill along Mannerheim Street. The building itself is an austere, stripped-down example of Neoclassical architecture.

    Finlandia Hall

    Designed by the architect Alvar Aalto in 1962, construction on this congress and event hall in Helsinki finished in 1971. It is a versatile venue, able to accommodate exhibitions, concerts, festivals, meetings and more.

    Sibelius Park

    This park in Helsinki is dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. The most notable aspect of the park is the magnificent monument to the composer located in its center. The monument is made of over 600 steel pipes.

    Temppeliaukion Church

    Opened in 1969, this Lutheran church in Helsinki features an incredible, circular interior design, with high vaulted, curved wooden ceilings. The pipe organ that provides the church with music is also designed in a very unique fashion.

Day 3: Helsinki - St. Petersburg (383 km)

Today, we will travel from Helsinki to St. Petersburg. Shortly after crossing the border into Russia, we will stop in Vyborg, taking a short sightseeing tour of Vyborg Castle. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in St. Petersburg and check into our hotel.

    This Russian town lies north of St. Petersburg and is just across the border from Finland to the north and northwest. It is home to a famous Swedish-built medieval castle that is now a museum.

    Vyborg Castle

    This medieval fortress was built by the Swedes. The surrounding town later developed around it. Historically, the castle and surrounding lands have been held by the Russians, the Swedes and the Finnish. These days, it houses a museum.

Day 4: St. Petersburg (52 km)

In the morning, we will go sightseeing to enjoy the splendors of the city. We will visit Peter-Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, Nevsky Convent and more. In the afternoon, we can take an optional excursion to Zarskoye Selo to see Catherine's Palace and the Amber Room. In the evening, we can also visit Nikolaevsky Palace to see an exciting folklore show.

    Peter and Paul Fortress

    Built towards the beginning of the 18th century, this citadel in St. Petersburg was designed under the rule of Peter the Great. Known as the "Russian Bastille," the citadel was used as a prison under the Bolsheviks in the 1920s.

    Winter Palace

    This palace in St. Petersburg served as the residence of the Russian monarchs from 1732 to 1917. Its large scale was intended to reflect the vast scope of the Russian Empire at the time of construction.

    Saint Isaac's Cathedral

    Saint Isaac's Cathedral or Isaakievskiy Sobor is the largest orthodox basilica and the fourth largest (by the volume under the cupola) cathedral in the world.

    Church of the Savior on Blood

    This famous Russian orthodox church in St. Petersburg was constructed on the same site as the fatal wounding of Alexander II. It is topped by the iconic "onion domes" that are representative of Russian orthodox church architecture.

    Nevsky Monastery

    This lovely, picturesque monastery was built in 1710 and consecrated three years later in the presence of Peter the Great. By the 20th century, the complex housed 16 churches!
  • Tsarskoye Selo, RUSSIA

    Located a short distance from St. Petersburg, this lovely Russian town is the location of the former estate of the Russian royal family, the august Catherine Palace.

    Catherine Palace

    This magnificent Rococo palace to the south of St. Petersburg was once the summer home of the Russian Imperial family. Catherine the Great commissioned the palace in 1717, desiring a summer getaway local for herself.

Day 5: St. Petersburg

In the morning, we can visit the Peterhof, the incredible palace from the era of Peter the Great. In the afternoon, we can visit the world famous Hermitage Museum. In the evening, we can enjoy an optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Pryanosti & Radosti.

Day 6: St. Petersburg - Moscow (633 km)

In the early morning, we will take a cruise on the St. Petersburg Channel. Around noon, we will board a high-speed train that will take us through scenery of the vast Russian countryside as we travel to Moscow. When we arrive in the late afternoon, we will check into our hotel.

Day 7: Moscow

Moscow is the largest Russian city, full of beautiful architecture like its domed cathedrals. The dramatic changes that have taken place over the last decade have made the city even more dynamic. In the morning, we will go on a sightseeing tour of the city to see the Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral, Theatre Square, Bolshoi Theatre, the Sparrow Hills, Moscow University, the Kremlin and one of the cathedrals. In the afternoon, we can take an optional tour of the Moscow Metro, visiting some of the most historic stations in the city. We will also walk along pedestrian-friendly Arbat Street. In the evening, we will be able to take an optional night tour of the city, which includes an unforgettable river cruise.

    Theatre Square

    This city square in central Moscow has a long history dating back to the aftermath of the 1812 Moscow fire. Originally designed in the Neoclassical style, the buildings were later destroyed and replaced with more eclectic styles.

    Bolshoi Theatre

    Located in Moscow's Theatre Square, this historical theatre has hosted ballet and opera since its inception in 1825. In recent years, the building has undergone extensive renovations and remodels.

    Sparrow Hills

    These hills on the banks of the Moskva River are one of the highest points in Moscow. On the hills, visitors can climb to the top of the observation platform to get an amazing view of the city.

    Moscow University

    Founded in 1755, this university is one of Russia's most respected and reputable institutions of higher learning. It serves a community of roughly 47,000 students across a wide range of disciplines.

    Kremlin

    This incredibly famous fortress at the heart of the Russian capital has become a synonym for the entire country. It is analogous to the White House, serving as the official residence of Vladimir Putin. It is a World Heritage Site.

    Arbat Street

    This famous pedestrian street in Moscow dates back to the 15th century, once part of local trade routes. This makes it one of the city's oldest streets.

Today, we can take an optional excursion to the quaint town of Sergiev Posad, where we will visit the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual heart of the Russian Orthodox Church.
